The crew is off this week but so much happened last week that we didn't get a chance to discuss.
Joey Boots, Zolar, MadMax, & one more. Not sure who yet. Hopefully one of the ladies will be able to join us.
I've got good news & bad news. The bad news is that our chick this week is Gay Tony. The good news is, he's been really good on the show in the past. :)
WILL WORK FOR HOWARD
- Why have all the wack packers decided to hit Howard up for a job now? Would it be good for the show if these guys were given jobs?
- What kind of job could Sirius offer Jeff the Drunk and should they even consider it? Will he fuck up Artie's generos offer?
- Will Nicole take one of the jobs she was offered or is she just looking for a spot with Howard?
- Is Riley insane, greedy, or does he have a valid gripe? Did he negotiate himself out of a job?
- Almost all the wackpacker have stuck their hand
out to Howard. Where's Beetlejuice been? If anyone ever deserved a show, it's him.
HOW DO YOU GET TO CARNEGIE HALL?
- Evidently by sleeping through your meeting with Peter Lagori the head of FOX TV.
- Artie headlines Carnegie Hall November 9th and has full control. Who should open & host? LINK

ROBIN THE THRILL SEEKER
- It's been another weekend at the beach and another boating mishap for Robin. First she ran her SeaRay into some of her neighbors' docks & boats and then she ran her SeaDoo jet boat up onto a sandbar and let it suck up sand until the engine overheated. Does she need more lessons or just time on the water?
- Robin picked up a new Z06 Corvette and is taking racing lessons. She's challenged Bubba to a race and he's accepted. Does she stand a chance? Will she get it stuck on a sandbar?
JON, RALPH, OR DOLPHIN
- Will Jon & Ralph straighten out their differences or is this the beginning of the end?
- Artie says the show needs a personality
Howard took up grilling but quit & hired a cook, fishing but quit because he was hurting the fish, and chess but is about to quit because it's hard. Robin took up horseback riding, collecting cars, boating & jet skiing, and is about to take on racing. Is it just me or is Robin more manly than Howard? Thank god he bangs a super model.
Is it appropriate for Lisa G, a member of the H100 news, to be in studio bitching about a guest and huge rock idol, calling him pathetic and insulting him about his hair and website plugs? Did she overreact to the dollar bill stunt just like she overreacted to the caramel machiatta?
Stern Fan Trivia, how did the superfans do? Would you have done better? Are you surprised by Sal's alleged cheating?

I think it would be a great bit if Artie would call up Dice and tell him he has a gig and if dice would like to “OPEN UP” for him he’s got like a 5 minute slot for him at Carnegie hall for about $1000.

| please bring up how he has the same recycled callers over and over. and all they do is repeat something he said earlier in the show. for example we all know the bonghit crew, and hook nose mike, koaj, and ralph calls in2-3 times a show. give the regular guy a chance. he leaves these cartoons talking for minutes and gives someone who entertains like sourshoes 20 seconds and cuts him off. |

How about, we know some tapes are ready, since they played a tape on last week's Friday Show, and Howard played some Krock stuff...Should they play some Krock tapes on this Vacation, or the supposed week at the end of August that I keep hearing people say? Are we really tied to the Labor Day Classic Stern that they talk about?
I honestly think people would stop bitching about the vacations if they played Classic Stern instead of recent replays. |

I hate reading the "Howard Vacation thread" bitch fest threads....and generally avoid them.
BUT, the fact of the matter is, after this week, they'll have taken: 1 week in April, Last week in May, 2 weeks in July, 1 week in August so far. That's 5 weeks. Factoring in that they usually take the last 2 weeks of December, and usually Thanksgiving week, that's 8 weeks. They also usually take a week in September during all the Jewish Holidays. And if what some people said is true, they're going to take another week in August. That's 10 weeks.
That said, they're not really leaving much time for a big "Launch" of the classic tapes Labor Day weekend. I mean, They're going to play it during the weekend, and then what? wait a few weeks until they maybe take September break? Howard said they're only taking 8 of their planned weeks, so I'm guessing that one is the first to go, and possibly the second August week.
SO, my proposed SuperFan Roundtable discussion is, Should they have planned more late year vacation to take advantage of the launch of the tapes, thus keeping the bitching to a minimum? |

I think the vacations have been particulary hard because the replays are very recent so they are too fresh(for obvious reasons). Plus, the show is that much better and speaking for myself, am more hooked on the show than in my 16+ years listening.
I think as soon as they are able to organize some "best-of" 's, and not whole shows but GREAT bits and guests, the griping will cease. It's like we've been handed some good heroin and then had it pulled away. I know I'm jonesing for some Billy West as the Jackie Puppet. |

Given the massive groan about vacation time, I'd say that's a worthwhile topic. Seriously.
Cuba Gooding Jr. was a fantastic guest, that was a real high point since beginning at Sirius.
The news department has been on a death watch since they investigated how much some bauble Howard bought Beth cost. It's one of those things (like the Howardstern.com bulletin board) that may have seemed like a good idea at one time, but the deed made real is another beast altogether.
What's the deal with the tapes? Could a fanatical shut-in like Boots not have whipped together a week's worth of pristinely digitized tapes from back when? Ideally with Jackie? I'm thrilled with the move to Sirius, but I'm still jonesing for the pre-March 13 2000 shows with Jackie. Artie kisses too much ass and still sounds insecure. Something like "Hey, fuck off, my relationship with Dana is my own fucking business." -- you know, something Jackie-like.
Please consider at least touching on the wave of vacation sentiment. "And we can't relate at all.." <-- stray Dead lyric... |

| I would ask the panel members if they're even listening to the replays this week....I'm not...I've heard everything on the show so far and I'm just not interested....so I'm listening to Ferrall replays, or Jay Thomas....and Bubba in the afternoon....I love Howard, but now that the show loops 24/7, it's very easy to hear anything you may have missed during the day...in the K-Rock days, a lot of "best of" was stuff I hadn't heard, so it was of interest....but not anymore. |

How about talking about how stupid the fans on SFN get when Howard takes time off. I have never seen the site so out of control---not your fault because it seems to happen on the overnight, when the real idiots seem to come out and just trash the site. its so hard wading through the crap sometimes in the morning. I don't know what gets into these supposed "fans".
Anyhow, looking forward to the show this week, you guys do a good job. thanks.

no other board have contacted me. i'm not going out looking for people and I'm not changing how I do the show. People request to be on and then they go through a review process. Nobody has ever gotten on with one request. I need to know they will be good on the show. i'm not interested in filling it with boring guests. I'm completely open to having non-SFNers on but like everyone else, they will have to go through the review process. We don't just pick people off the street
As Howard said, I will only have people on that I want to have on. People that come here just to try to annoy me, will not under any circumstances be invited. There are already several people on my blacklist and just because they post elsewhere does not all the sudden make them eligible. It's about being a fan of the show and find people that will work well together. |

Sorry dude, didn't mean to get you riled up. I would volunteer to go on the show, but I live too far away. I am a long time fan and go back to the NBC days when I lived in NYC and could bring a fans perspective on the evolution of the show over the years. |

Seeing the vacation replays as CLASSIC STERN ON SIRIUS ---- actual "recent history lessons" that hold new GEMS every time you listen to them. And instead of people bitching about it, being grateful for the replays we hear during vacations.

Lineup is good this week. Definitely goes by too fast. Maybe on thursdays, Ferrall can come in an hour late to give you guys 2 hours. Or at least a half hour late so you guys arent rushed. Lori sounds hotter than Ferrall. Just my opinion.

Cabbie is doing a week on FreeFM. Since he's a part of SFN and a big part of the show, should we mention that he's back on the air, and will he ever appear on the show again, now that he's gone back to "the other side".
