This is another interesting subject that warrants way more discussion and information than can really be put on a bulletin board or even a brief survey site like that link. Anyone who's really interested should study Roman history for an accurate context of how Christianity came to become a major influence. The history of christianity is interesting in and of itself, and you have to really look at what was going on in the world and read about the background information in the world to really be able to study it objectively. For example, research Christmas itself and you'll find a wealth of information that indicates that it was actually a pagan ritual/celebration and celebrated long before christianity was around.
History is written by the people who were in charge which was the Catholic church for many many many years. Much like the history of our own country where people get taught, and many still believe, that the first people that came to our country in the new world were these nice pilgrims who were trying to escape the persecution of the King of England so they could start a new world where all people were equal and they could have religious freedom. You also have the story where they supposedly sat down and had this nice feast with the native people which we celebrate as Thanksgiving.
Much too detailed topics to really get into here at length, so what's my point? When I hear alot of the subjects that are starting to be discussed on the show like the 9/11 issue (which I do not have enough information on to form an opinion), the Freedom to Fascism stuff, and information that questions what is really going on with the government and other authorities that rule people, I get the feeling these are the types of things Brent might be frustrated with right now. The day Bubba was talking to Brent about what's bugging him he said something to the effect that the whole world was going to shit and he was pissed off that everybody else wasn't pissed off (he was also discussing other current political issues as well such as illegal immigration).
I personally kind of felt like Brent might have been alluding to the idea that we live in a world largely based on bullshit and lies where the wool has been pulled over all of our eyes as a means of control. The guys on the show have seen it firsthand with the FCC. I think he may be frustrated that he doesn't see evidence that individuals are researching these things and seeing past all the bullshit they've been fed. Even worse are the people who won't even question what they've been told. I could certainly be wrong and this is only one possible interpretation of what he said that day. Maybe he was just in a bad mood for some other reason, but even if that's the case I, for one, am glad that they are discussing these things and bringing the topics to people's attention. Maybe enough individuals will start to question what is really going on and what is real and what isn't. |
