The time has come for me to get a new radio, my Xact XTR1 is starting to die, and the power button works on occasion. Since the new portable will be too much $$$$ for me, I need some recommendations on which radios everyone has, and how good they are.
I prefer a radio that lets you preview whats on 5 or 6 stations like the XTR1 did.
On the XTR1 you can press display and its shows the artist press it again it shows the song for 5 or 6 stations.
Also one with a screen where sun glare doesn't effect it.
What does everyone suggest? |

ive got a sportster replay int the wifes car, i really like it.
but i prefer the under seat unit in my truck. everything runs through the kenwood head unit |

Looks like the sportster replay has good reviews, which model do you have, and did you need to buy a separate fm modulator for it? |

I've got a Sportster Replay (model 3?), not the new one they are rolling out and love it. The FM transmitter has a range of a couple hundred feet. The newest Sporter 4 is probably much less due to FFC Regs. Boombox, home kit, car kit, not a problem. The Category button displays what (show/artist) is on 5 different stations. I understand the Starmate is comparable and has similar features.
I'd never been a big fan of Radio Shack, but I got lucky and the sales guy was a fan of the show and answered all my stupid questions. Even showed me how he had it hooked up in his car. Plus, you can check online to see if the model you want is available in the store near you. |

| oops my bad mine is the starmate replay, got it with a boombox and car kit from sirius as a promotional. works fine without a modulator |
