I have the S1/SV1 portable unit. I had problems with it's antenna 2 months after I got it. Sirius said to send it back and they would send me a new unit. I express mail it. Two weeks later with no Sirius , and no Howard, I buy a new unit. I get my replacement about 8 weeks later.

Now this new SV1 has a problem with the antenna....this time they won't even let me ship it back....they said they will contact me it two weeks...and they did to tell me to keep waiting...

I need a portable unit for my work car and personal car, but I can't keep using these as disposable units.

Any one else have problems with any Sirius hardware?

My Inno has worked perfect since day one, but wait thats XM and they actually do their R&D in house.

I have never had any issues with my sportster either. Sounds to me like its time to switch to a different unit.

I got an old-school Kenwood Here2Anywhere PnP that's almost 18 months old and my dad has a Starmate Replay for Father's Day. Only problem I ever had was the AC adapter on the Kenwood breaking up, but then all I did was get teh Starmate Home Kit and for $40 I had a new antenna and AC adapter, VS $35 for just the new power cord from Kenwood.

I have a starmate replay... I haven't had any problems with the home docking unit other than static when connecting it to my stereo. I have had one car antenna severed in the trunk when closing so now I run it through the rear door. The coax antenna wire is delicate, but I really doubt I could close my trunk or door if it was much thicker.

yes, and Customer Service sucks.

Sirius hardware is so shitty its sad.

My antennae wire has to be pointing up to register and the power shuts on and off while I drive.

The programming is amazing but their hardware is shit.

On my third antenna since November. I swap it between my car and work truck daily and the antenna wires don't seem to like being pulled on that much.

I did have to replace my Xact unit last month after I dropped it. I've got what I think is called the SiriusOne.

It's a nice unit, but last week it started losing all it's presets every time I turn it off or unplug it to swap cars.

I have a starmarte in my van at work, and have the antenna placed right on the inside dash board. Very easy to move from my van to car. less wear and tear than a traditonal install. never had a problem so far. I just wish they had a shorter antenna cord.

i bought my sportster a year ago. about two weeks ago it took a shit on me and quit working. it wouldn't get past the sirius logo screen. i called customer care and the sent me to the warranty department. the warranty department is in the process of sending me a new radio, FOR FREE, and during the time that i don't have a working radio they are not billing me for my subsription and i still get to listen online. i'll have to wait a while for a new radio since they are on backorder, but i have to say that i am totally satisfied with their service so far.

I used to have probs with mine, every time after i delete my shows i shut it down and take the battery out and then turn it back on its like a reset because sometimes after deleteting programs it gets stupid especially after you "delete all" so Ive learned to work thru the bugs and I have been problem free for months.

I've almost rebuilt the thing completely. Thank God for radio shack. Sucks, but customer service sucks worse.

Just wait. It will turn into a brick at some point.

I have an XACT XTR8CT since Feb. This week the FM re-broadcast effective range has dropped from about 50 ft to about 5 ft. It has a one year warrantee, but has to be mailed to Morrow GA to get repaired.

Added on 8/18:
Jokes on me. A new FM station in Tacoma started on the frequency I was using. So, now I am offering a tip, not asking for one.
Try a different FM frequency if the effective range of your Sirius unit declines.

From www.kxot.com:
On-line now and on-air starting August at 91.7FM - KUOW launches KXOT: expanded public radio programming from around the world, the nation and the region.

Im gonna do my best to have them replace it. I tried to buy a warranty with it when i bought it from Best Buy.... and i was shocked when they said...
