Hey SFN
I am on SFRT tonight 8-17-06 and one of our topics is about George Flowers.......about all his current issues with gary, Artie being insulted and so on and so on.
take a look at my polll attached and make sure you vote your true feelings i will use the results on tonights show
also tell me your thoughts about george his comments and the Howard 100 news department and i will use your comments and give you SFN name on the air

George's comments were sincere and valid, his expereince of the Show is limited and most comments attributed to him were actually made by Gary on George's behalf.
the Show is about Howard, his conscious and unconscious...it is filled with all the contradictions a human being carries within themselves. EVERYONE else's rationalizations are warped by their lesser status to Stern on a show that focuses on his thoughts-out-loud.
Besides, George's value to the Show is how straight-laced and traditional he is... |

I voted that I don't care what he says or thinks.
What did he think he was signing on for? It is the Howard Stern Show afterall. If he cannot handle the various aspects of the show (i.e. racist remarks, sex....), then why doesn't he resign and go to a regular news type station.
He really seems to be full of himself. For some reason he is the great authority on racism and all things blaek because he married one. Give me a fucking break. Get over yourself George.
If he is so great then why isn't he on national news or at least cable news. |

| When George implied Robin was not "black" enough, he did exactly what he was in protest about. He made a generalization about "black people". Just because he is married to a black woman does not make him an expert on "black people". I married a white guy, that doesn't make me an expert on "white people". |

| I don't care about George, he's just an old guy with a cool voice. I'm only 24 so the Howard news was the first time I heard about the guy. He filled out the application and knew exactly what he was signing up for and if he doesn't like it should consider moving back to reading real news. |

I think George is interesting in that he is someone who probably was never a Stern fan, and now he works for Stern. The "outsider" view adds something. My problem with him is that he seems so unhappy at times that it's a bit of a buzzkill.
Maybe if he signed on here and posted he'd toughen up, eh? :D |

Maybe George went by the old Testicle Radio show, and didn't expect it to get as crazy as it is now. Bottom line is, he's getting paid, so he should STFU. |

| If George is under contract it definetely won't be renewed and if he doesn't have a contract he needs to put in his two weeks notice and move to a channel that doesn't offend him. If he wants to stay employed with the Howard news he definetely needs to shut the fuck up and keep his shit comments to himself! |

I remember him doing "real" news
the obvious feelings he has that the show is beneath him is priceless
he is an older gentleman married to an african-american woman, this had to be a struggle with his peers back in the day
regardless, any reaction he has to anything about the show makes for great radio, period |

I totally identified with Artie's frustration at George's comments. As a long-time fan of The Show, I've had countless arguments with people who've criticized me for being a fan and criticized Stern, simply because they don't understand The Show...or they haven't even listened. It's always really frustrating trying to explain the genius of The Show to a stubborn, close-minded person.
That being said, I enjoy George's no-nonsense delivery of Howard 100 News. It seems like he needs to learn to treat his coworkers with a little more respect and less condescension, though. :D |
