How can they say something is free then make you buy other stuff to get it? That’s not free, that just makes the unit cost less. I think what should have been done was for Sirius to eat the $30 radio and give them for free then make you buy 1yr instead of 6 months. Do it like Satellite TV does. People need to get the radios. Once they see how awesome Sirius is they will tell a friend. If the radios were really free and all I had to do was pay 6 months at $6.99 I would have gotten 2 more. I was disappointed when I read you have to buy other things to get the radios for free. My brother even wanted one and ghe has XM but he too felt jipped when he found out he would have to buy other things. When I here free now it never means free there is always a catch and I think that is a bad business model ………….

The idea is to get your family member hooked up. I too have a very portable unit and have a kit in both my cars. I am sure if the radios are $29 at Wal mart Sirius can buy them for $10-$20. Give them away to add subscribers. |

More people who pay for an additional subscription = more revenue for sirius and as well as additional stats as far as listeners. I would think that might help the stock as well as pull sirius further away from xm. The added word of mouth is also a huge bonus as many people have purchased sirius based on friend recomendations, especially if they were planning on a sat radio purchase and couldn't decide between xm and sirius.
I know I plan on getting one more. |

on the Sirius One, you don't have to buy anything extra. Just shipping on it.
For the Starmate, use promo code BUFFETT to get 15% off, which more or less covers your shipping cost for the kit. |

| They should fix that add on the sirius site because you have to go way in before you see you can get one for free. The first thing you see is you have to buy something and that SUCKS............. |

The cheap one is 100% free.
The Starmate only 39.99 which includes car and home kits.. that is a steal.
I entered promo BUFFETT and got 15% off so with shipping it was only 38.05.
What a deal!! |

| Just ordered my starmate. The radios seem to be getting cheaper but still not as cheap as the current free deal. |
