This is the earliest I've ever started a brainstorming thread but I might as well get it going. What should we discuss this week?

I agree with him.
And i see Farrel, And Bubba selling their stuff, And I'm not a fan of it. I do feel it cheapens the name.
I like Howards veiws on How he wont sell his fans stuff.
But thats my opinion. |

If Howard started to sell stuff I'd really begin to question if he's changed too much.
He's changed (as we all do), but the merchandise thing is something he's always been against.
Besides, it doesn't come across that well when Bubba's plugging NED MARK t-shirts for twenty minutes... |

I'm probably in the minority on this, but Beetlejuice sucks... I don't think he's been very funny since they've been at Sirius and his last segment was horrendous... |

i agree with you. howard hasn't put anything out in a while. when he does , it is successful. if he had an online store, he would be just like o'reilly, rush etc.......... he prides himself by being different. and he should stick to his guns. |

**Enemies: Listening to the replays reminds you of Howard fighting the system and his competitors... FCC, Tom C. & K-Rock bosses, Dibella, Imus, Celeb fights, etc. Does H need an enemy and something to rail against to stay fresh? He's on top of the radio world, what else is there left to conquer. Actually as I'm typing this I realize he still has plenty to fight for. He's gotta fight to make sirius dominant over regular radio
**How fat is everyone on the show. Besides for Howard, Fred, and Will, all show staffers are overweight or obese. Does the show need to go on a diet?
**Rapid fire: name a segment from show's past that you've jerked off to, and where'd you finish? |

Maybe no merch, but the price of listening to Howard has gone up. $12.95 a mo. for Sirius and $13.95 a mo. for On Demand in addition to all the Sirius equimpent. |

Not to beat a dead horse, but since the Jackie appearance on the SF roundtable pre-tapes show is Jackie relevant to the show again? Should Jackie be part of the Gary Roast since Jackie really was one of the firsts to roast him on a daily basis. And since almost everyone hates Ralph and wants him fired from the Friday Show, maybe have Jackie instead or at least every few Friday shows?

Can they have a schedule that tells us what they are playing and when and what channel?? It's too frustrating to miss your favorite bit and then sit down and listen to... " Wendy the Retard?" ...which I heard 10 thousand times on replays already!!! A schedule would help alot. I really like the old tapes, but they need a little planning behind it. |

After seeing the reaction to the tapes here this weekend I think it warrants a discussion on the pros & cons of a third channel for the tapes.
Would it be overkill?
How should it be scheduled to avoid competing with the live morning show?
If no third channel is created how should the tapes be aired without disrupting the current schedule on 100 & 101 too much?
Those are just some of the topics for such a discussion. |

| I think that a lot of the newer fans were confused after certain bits, and could have used some more set up at the begining, or more of an explanation of what happened at the end. The most obvious example of this was the Steven Speilberg bit. Several people were posting requests for information on how the situation was resolved. I could even envision a 5 or 10 minute segment on each clip presented, similar to the Friday Show. |

we miss jackie. it was good to hear classic stern show with jackie's laugh in the background. no one busted baba booey's balls like jackie. since he's been gone we've noticed that the gary abuse has cut back.

Beatlejuice needs more to keep a show going. The whole Wac Pack Should have a show. A parade of freaks each week. That's must listen radio. All the wack Packers could visit the studio or chime in on the phone. I love it when Eric the Actor or High Pitch calls the Superfan round Table. It sounds like Howard is shying away from the Idea of a 3rd channel. He has the old tapes and programs that he doesn't have room for on 100 and 101. Do you think there should be a 3rd channel? What should be on it? do you feel Howard is shying from a 3rd channel up? If so why?

also...what people thought of replaying the all request weekend...and not going with all new stuff throughtout the weekend...
talk about how well the sound quality was.......considering how old some of the stuff was....
pluss from today along.....talk abotu Artie's relationship...........and do we think Artie is getting really upset about talking about it on the air and does this hinder their "relationshp" at all......

The tapes were ok, should have had less repeats or at least spread the bits over the whole weekend instead of playing two days of fresh, two days of repeats.
There needs to be a Howard 100 Fist/ SIrius window decal for your car. And the track jacket Gary wears... the black one that says SIRIUS across the chest... And a flex-fit black cap w/ the H100 fist logo on it. |

First, thanks for all you do for us Stern fans Mutt. Your dedication and hard work are greatly appreciated by this quieter fan.
As it seems the 'All Request Weekend' did not match the expectations of many listeners, some intelligent dialog on the topic would be great. (e.g. What did you appreciate about the tapes? What could be more effective in future airings?)
Also some observations on 'Then vs Now' might be fun. For example, no one seems to put Robin in her place anymore. Jackie was the master at dealing with 'Queen Quivers'. Or how in-studio antics at SIRIUS, at times, make Howard appear more like a 'Zookeeper' than the consummate talk show host of the terrestrial days.
Just a few thoughts ... |

Thanks for your hard work on this.
I think you must address the discontent over the Labor Day debacle. it defeinitely didn't live up to the hype. Maybe a dialogue about what could be done differently next time. I know the repeats and editing pissed people off. Maybe more fan input, not just the appearence of fan input. i think we all saw right through that.

i think they should have came out right away and said how many hours of material they were going to rotate,over the labor day weekend, if they would have done that right away, no one would have been dissapointed.
