I got the first one with QB's
Either Kurt Warner home against S.F. or Eli Manning home against IND? |
|
|
| jamieg14 |
| come on now? Kurt Warner by a mile..... |
|
|
| Case a Beer |
Oh yeah huh...Well I'm not in the Kurt Warner fan club. This isn't 2001.
You don't think Eli will have to throw a ton to keep up with his hack brother???? |
|
|
| Pussah2 |
Eli. Think last year when he played against San Diego (the team he turned down)
E. Manning 24 -41 352 yards 2 touchdowns, no interceptions
He is going to be jacked up out of his mind playing against his brother for the first time ever on NBC sunday night opener at Home in front of his entire family. Expect a shootout |
|
|
| A.Lang=Crazy |
I would go with Warner, the 49ers def is one of the worst in the nfl. Last year Warner threw for 354 yards vs the 49ers and I would expect another game of over 300 yards. Also it's the Cardinals first game at their new stadium, you have to expect they will throw the ball alot too pump up the crowd. Also with James running the ball, its going to open up the passing game for Warner. With Boldin and Fitzgerald vs. 49ers bad secondary you got to expect Warner will have a good game.
The Chargers defense isn't as good as the Colts and I think Eli might be too jacked up. He will probably force some balls which will turn into int's. |
|
|
| Hugomarink |
That's a tough one. On paper I think Warner looks like the better play (lousy Niners D, two great receivers, Edgerrin taking the pressure off the passing game, playing at home in new stadium, etc.) but for some reason my gut says that Eli and the Giants will be very pumped up for this game against the Dolts. But, I've learned in fantasy football to with what's on paper as my gut calls usually bomb. Go with Warner. The Niners are absolutely awful and the Cardinals will score points.
Now, help me out. Which of the following WRs would you start at my extra flex position:
L. Coles (NYJ) @ TEN
J. Jurevicius (CLE) vs. NO
D. Bennett (TEN) vs. NYJ
M. Muhammad (CHI) @GB
M. Clayton (TB) vs. BAL |

Hugo, go with Coles. Penninton locks in on that guy.I posted in the other thread. Ten Def. is soft. Fantasy Guru has him ranked 23rd. this week.
Second option would be Bennet. Givens is still nicked a bit. |

I would go with Bulger in a heartbeat. Favre is probably going to throw more INTs than TDs this season. He's done, the Packers suck, and Chicago's D is very tough. I think the Rams can beat Denver this week and their new coach apparently likes to throw the ball. Bulger all the way. |

I don't know why so many people are so high on Matt Jones. He didn't really do shit last year. I know he moves up on the roster with the retirement of Jimmy Smith, but still. Seattle plays at the lousy Lions and it's indoors so there'll probably be some good yards put up in that game. Jacksonville is at home against Dallas -- I bet Dallas wins that game. I'd go Burleson, but what the fuck do I know? |

I'm by no means an expert but there isn't much traffic around here so what the heck. Addai is not the starter, is he? Given that, I'd probably go with Lundy. He'll share carries with Morency but he'll see the ball a good number of times. Jurevicius and Brown are total shots in the dark at this point. I have no idea how many times their QBs will look their way. |

I'd probably go with Carr only because they're playing at home. Cleveland is also at home against the lowly Saints but I think the Browns are pretty lowly themselves and I have no idea how good Frye is or how much Cleveland will be throwing the ball this year. At least Carr is somewhat of a known quantity. The upside to Frye is higher because he has Edwards and Winslow to throw to, but he's a bigger gamble because he has so little experience. |

frye by a mile.
he has people to throw to...
Kellen Winslow
Braylon Edwards
Joe Jurevicius
Dennis Northcutt
frye played in 7 games as a rookie and started in 5 of thoese games.
frye is by no means a vick quick quarterback but he does have decent wheels and is not afraid to take off out of the pocket. |

If you say so. I admitedly don't know shit about Frye or his abilities. And, remember, both Edwards and Winslow are big question marks coming off serious injuries. But, I'm sold. Go with Frye. You gotta figure the Browns can handle the Saints and put up some points. |

From what i have been reading D. Jax is hurt (knee), but supposedly getting better.
I betting on Burleson to have a year like he had in 04. I drafted him and are rolling with him this week. |

I would go with Julius Jones. He is the main back in Dallas, and Bush will be sharing carries.
I need some advise as well. I need to decide my TE starter. I have Heath Miller and Randy McMichael. They play against each other. Without Big Ben, Miller may get more touches, but the offense may stutter. McMichael against the Pittsburgh linebackers makes me question his value. |
|
|
| Case a Beer |
| Go with McMike. Culpepper loves his TE. Remember Wiggins in Minn? Chambers and McMike will be the ones he throws to. |
|
|

| I got Delhomme or Eli, making matters a bit more complicated I have Steve Smith or Javon Walker. Obviously I would like Delhomme/Smith combo, but with Smith injured, maybe I should go Eli/Walker? |

Eli and Walker...STL plays little def.
Eli should be in a shoot out. |

| Not sure who to play for my 2nd RB. Starting Steven Jackson. Still deciding between Julius Jones, Thomas Jones or Travis Henry. Julius is the best out of the three, but he's the only one going up against a good defense. |

| Thomas Jones. TEnn. is a crowded backfield. Dallas has a tough matchup. Seattle lost opening week last year against the Jags. |

What's wrong with Brady? I see he's listed as probable. He's my starter and Delhomme is my backup. Is there some word that Brady may be out this weekend? |

Isn't Travis Henry third on the depth chart behind Chris Brown and Lindale White? You shouldn't even be considering him at this point. I'd probably go with Thomas Jones because the Bears should crush the Packers and the Packers D doesn't look good. Julius Jones is also a good play but Jacksonville has a pretty tough D so they may keep him wrapped up. |

First, don't lose faith in Randy McMike so fast. He'll bounce back, and have a better season than Heath Miller. Heath Miller was one blown coverage (by my beloved Dolphins) away from putting up equally sucky fantasy numbers.
Anyway, I have a question for you guys. It's the battle of the Drews. Bledsoe vs. the Jags or Brees vs. the Browns. Who do you start? |

Why would you start Eli over Warner. |
|
|

My suprise start will have to be
Chris Brown, RB, Ten vs. Jets
-Jets soft Defense last year
-QB situation still unclear means heavy rushing load for Brown |
|
|
| Case a Beer |
| As long as Travis Henry and LenDale white are not around. |
|
|
| dezpaul81 |
as for your QB situation come on now
Warner with Fitz & Boldin against one of the worst passing defenses in the league
or
the sometimes erratic Eil against a tough Colts D |
|
|
| dezpaul81 |
Fisher said hes the clear number 1 RB THIS week
-Henry too much pot
-LenDale too much weight |
