First off please no political talk in this thread please.

I just wanted to take a moment to mark out to the troops. Sometimes we get all wrapped up in the political shit that we almost forget about these guys and gals. They are and have in the past done so many things for this country and were treated like shit when they came home or forgotten about all together. The VA hospitals are not the best but still they go. The country is divided but still they go. Most never get the thanks they deserve but still they go. So many died in WW1 and WW2 and other wars but they fought on.

I just want to take a moment to say thanks and to remind everyone to never forget. Feel free to post your respects and or thanks if you wish but again I ask no political talk in this thread.

The below link is a nice little tribute in my opinion.

Well put, most folks forget about those who are dying for our politics. It's about them, and it's a shame when our best and brightest are sent to fight for those who don't want them there.

I just worry this is going to be this generations Vietnam.
stemple99
This is already my generation's Vietnam. Granted, the public opinion of the people on the ground doing the fighting is much better. But still...It may even get worse if things get out of control in Iran, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon
Under Pressure
My thanks goes out to all those who try to make this world a safer place to live. My heart goes out to all those who have lost life and limbs for wars they have never asked to be in.
PriceIsRight
I didn't see this thread before.
I have a lot of family and friends who are veterans. I know all about respect for the military. ALWAYS stand behind our troops. They are the very reason we're allowed to do simple things, like post here!

Army
Navy
Air Force
Marines
Coast Guard
National Guard
Police
Firefighters

STAND UP AND SALUTE!
Lerch
steelrfn
Agree 100%!

Can't blame the troops for honoring their oaths, and the sacrifices of the men and women in uniform, (including police and firefighters) is what keeps us safe and free
Siobhans Penis
Thanks to the troops I'm able to drive wherever I want whenever I want, listen to an uncensored sirius radio, and most importantly, because of the troops I have the freedom to say what I want when I want ....

People need to understand that the troops are fighting so that we can keep our rights and freedoms! Never fuckin forget that! They die for our freedom!
Mr.Tucson
Dad= Lt. Colonel- USMC (Ret)
Son-In-Law= Stf. Sgt. US Army

Can't thank them and all enough to provide the freedom that we have. :ps: :ps: :ps: :usa:
Mr.Tucson
Let's just keep bumping this one up...........

Thank you. You're a good mod.

I wish I had been enable to enlist (wanted to go into Air Force), but health reasons prevented that (asthma and poor vision). My father is a non-combat Vietnam war-era veteran (Air Force). I married into a family full of patriotic pride. Just on her maternal side, her grandfather was a Korean war vet, nine of her great uncles were WWII vets, one more lost his life in WWII, and her second cousin just came back from Iraq a year ago (two Purple Hearts but thankfully alive and well). ANYONE who has offered up his/her life for the honor of defending this great nation we live in (regardless of whatever political regime is in office) has my undying gratitude, respect, admiration, and thanks. Without your service (past, present, and future), we would not be.

Regardless of what some may think, this isn’t political, just still marking out to the troops. You guys and gals may have moved out but you are not forgotten.
teeroy
a well deserved and thoughtful bump, thank you to all the troops from an appreciative canuck.

Troy.
kandi
God bless all of our servicemen and women.

And what is a canuck?

"Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"

Our troops and those of our closest ally and friend, Canada should always be in our thoughts and prayers. The Canadian military has always had our back. I met a few in VietNam...they were some 'bad motherfuckers' but very cool too. Smoked many a 'ready roll' with them.
Send a care package to a serviceman or woman...help out a homeless Vet...Help out a family that has lost their father...

A canuck is a Canadian knish...
Zeke
Here's what you can do...

MeSelf
Supporting Our Troops doesn't mean you have to support the reasons they are there or those that sent them...

Even more important than letting these men and women know we are completely behind them while they are there, is for them to know we will also be completely behind them when they return.
Zeke
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God"

They volunteered for the best job and the worst job...Peacemaker.
They die and bleed and cry for freedom...ours and others.
They die and bleed and cry for each other ( something non-veterans will never understand )
They see and endure horrors that forever scar the psyche.
They come home broken, burned, blind or boxed.
They ask for nothing but a return to normalcy. But it will not be.
They need our thanks, love, understanding and help.

Do something for a disabled Vet....That's a thank you, you both will remember.

What can you do? http://www.military.com/Content/Mor...=support_troops
mcbutton1970
Thank you for the continued contributions and sacrifices that each of you has made for this country's freedom. It is because of the bravery and courage and sacrifices that you've made for us that we can enjoy what we are and have today. Though your blood may be spilled halfway around the globe, your service and dedication is still felt right here at home.

I've lost brothers before and after this abortion of a war started. It's hard knowing you've helped train some of the fine leathernecks that fly supply and rescue missions in a land that does not really want our help.

If i could only be as eloquent as some of the other posters on this web-site to get my ideas across, then i might possible be able to express how much every single person that has taken the oath to defend this country means to me personally.

It has been said before and will be said after, but it take a lot of bravery just to join these day's (no matter the service) because the probability that you will be sent to a messed up place, and situation is extremely high.

Every time i come across an old pair of coveralls or flight suit, or i see my blues in the coat closet, it takes me a moment to get over the one's i know have paid the ultimate price for our country. And then it makes me mad and angrey to know others that talk bad about the military and how harmful it is. Even after reminding them that the reason they are able to vote or wipe their ass is because of SSgt's and Lt's and Capt's and Maj's that have bought the farm protecting our asses. Not to forget the Pvt's and Cpl's that go on patrol everyday, or service the aircraft that help all the ground troops.
.... well i supppose that could have been put together better but they also defend my right to post crappy too.

May God bless you all and keep you safe to return home to your loved ones
