Bush Propaganda Architect Rove Promises October Surprise
Will PR coup be another Bin Laden campaign endorsement or something far deadlier?
September 21 2006
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/art...1615.shtml?s=lh

"Rove is not saying what the October surprise will be, writes Kesser, " asked if he would elaborate and give his thinking about the coming elections, Rove told NewsMax that his take largely parallels what RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman said in a Sept. 5 NewsMax story."

Days before the 2004 presidential election, an Osama Bin Laden videotape gave Bush the six point surge he needed to overtake John Kerry and snatch the White House
Cronkite: Karl Rove Set Up Bin Laden Tape
KING: OK, Walter. What do you make of this?
CRONKITE: Well, I make it out to be initially the reaction that it's a threat to us, that unless we make peace with him, in a sense, we can expect further attacks. He did not say that precisely, but it sounds like that when he says...
KING: The warning.
CRONKITE: What we just heard. So now the question is basically right now, how will this affect the election? And I have a feeling that it could tilt the election a bit. In fact, I'm a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing. The advantage to the Republican side is to get rid of, as a principal subject of the campaigns right now, get rid of the whole problem of the al Qaqaa explosive dump. Right now, that, the last couple of days, has, I think, upset the Republican campaign.
KING: Now, bin Laden, of course, could help Bush in that it reminds people of a terror issue in which he runs strong. It also could hurt Bush in that reminds people he's still alive. So this could be a double edged sword, right?
CRONKITE: Indeed. Indeed. And the thing that in bringing this threat to us, there is almost, in the fact that he dressed well, that he looked well, he was clean shaven, nearly clean shaven as those folks get. It seemed almost, to me, that he wanted to enter into negotiations, that he was really up -- he wants to move into a leadership role in international affairs instead of the role of a brigand. And he spoke calmly about this thing. The threat was there, no question about it. He's delivering a warning to us, no question about that. And certainly, I don't think there's any reason to feel that we can take him to our bosom just because this speech at all. He's perfectly capable of blowing us up.
Last week, the Associated Press thrust a month old bin Laden tape back onto the front pages by reporting it as new. Like a band aid the propaganda has to be re-applied consistently to remind Americans who their enemy is supposed to be. The mob breaks a few windows downtown to make sure you pay your protection money.
As we reported yesterday, in an orchestrated set-up, George W. Bush announced that a plan to fly a plane into the LA Library Tower was thwarted in 2002 and within minutes news networks were showing footage of the same building being destroyed in the movie Independence Day.
After the mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa, immediately went public with comments of his absolute bewilderment concerning the alleged plot, no fewer than twenty three intelligence experts told Capitol Hill Blue that President Bush was "cheapening and politicizing their work" by creating a "fantasy world" of discredited terror alerts and using them for political points scoring.
“I thought it was going to help,” Bush decided. “I thought it would help remind people that if bin Laden doesn’t want Bush to be the president, something must be right with Bush.”
Is Rove's October surprise the political assassination, dirty bomb, biological release or terror attack forecast in a 2005 Republican memo, touted to "reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush," and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."
here is the memo from the GOP where they salivated over the idea of the bin laden (faked) video conkrite told us about and how it will win the election from kerry....
Quote: A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."
The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could “validate” the President’s war on terror and allow Bush to “unite the country” in a “time of national shock and sorrow.”
The memo says such a reversal in the President's fortunes could keep the party from losing control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections.
GOP insiders who have seen the memo admit it’s a risky strategy and point out that such scenarios are “blue sky thinking” that often occurs in political planning sessions.
“The President’s popularity was at an all-time high following the 9/11 attacks,” admits one aide. “Americans band together at a time of crisis.”
Other Republicans, however, worry that such a scenario carries high risk, pointing out that an attack might suggest the President has not done enough to protect the country.
“We also have to face the fact that many Americans no longer trust the President,” says a longtime GOP strategist. “That makes it harder for him to become a rallying point.”
The memo outlines other scenarios, including:
--Capture of Osama bin Laden (or proof that he is dead);
--A drastic turnaround in the economy;
--A "successful resolution" of the Iraq war.
GOP memos no longer talk of “victory” in Iraq but use the term “successful resolution.”
“A successful resolution would be us getting out intact and civil war not breaking out until after the midterm elections,” says one insider.
The memo circulates as Tuesday’s disastrous election defeats have left an already dysfunctional White House in chaos, West Wing insiders say, with shouting matches commonplace and the blame game escalating into open warfare.
“This place is like a high-school football locker room after the team lost the big game,” grumbles one Bush administration aide. “Everybody’s pissed and pointing the finger at blame at everybody else.”
Republican gubernatorial losses in Virginia and New Jersey deepened rifts between the Bush administration and Republicans who find the President radioactive. Arguments over whether or not the President should make a last-minute appearance in Virginia to try and help the sagging campaign fortunes of GOP candidate Jerry Kilgore raged until the minute Bush arrived at the rally in Richmond Monday night.
“Cooler heads tried to prevail,” one aide says. “Most knew an appearance by the President would hurt Kilgore rather than help him but (Karl) Rove rammed it through, convincing Bush that he had enough popularity left to make a difference.”
Bush didn’t have any popularity left. Overnight tracking polls showed Kilgore dropped three percentage points after the President’s appearance and Democrat Tim Kaine won on Tuesday.
Conservative Pennsylvania Republican Senator Rick Santorum told radio talk show host Don Imus Wednesday that he does not want the President's help and will stay away from a Bush rally in his state on Friday.
The losses in Virginia and New Jersey, coupled with a resounding defeat of ballot initiatives backed by GOP governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in California have set off alarm klaxons throughout the demoralized Republican party. Pollsters privately tell GOP leaders that unless they stop the slide they could easily lose control of the House in the 2006 midterm elections and may lose the Senate as well.
“In 30 years of sampling public opinion, I’ve never seen such a freefall in public support,” admits one GOP pollster.
Democratic pollster Geoffrey Garin says the usual tricks tried by Republicans no longer work.
"None of their old tricks worked," he says.
Rep. Thomas M. Davis III (R-Va.) admits the GOP is a party mired in its rural base in a country that's becoming less and less rural.
"You play to your rural base, you pay a price," he says. "Our issues blew up in our face."
As Republican political strategists scramble to find a message – any message – that will ring true with voters, GOP leaders in Congress admit privately that control of their party by right-wing extremists makes their recovery all but impossible.
“We’ve made our bed with these people,” admits an aide to House Speaker Denny Hastert. “Now it’s the morning after and the hangover hurts like hell.” |
more proof that the war on terror is really made up by the administration at thier leisure. |

That’s because the clinton administration buried their heads in the sand, and pretended that America was not facing a growing threat in the Middle East, and North Korea. The liberal media followed their lead and never reported how badly the clinton’s were fucking everything up.
And by the way, I ever needed any of the above mentioned items with Bush in office. What is going on at your house at night???? |

And President Bush did what, exactly, during his first 8 months in office about the "growing threat in the Middle East."
The point being, if you're going to cast blame on Clinton then it's only fair to cast blame on Bush as well. It's the same as with the lack of investment in alternative fuels - there's plenty of bi-partisan blame to go around. |

so it was clinton's job to clean up all the mess bush sr and reagan created right?
it was already proven bush ignored warnings of and attack using planes right.
bush was the sitting president when the planes hit right?
why did bush then turn around and refuse his chance at obl?

Well I’ll tell ya. He spent most of his time trying to get his appointments through congress. See the libs were pissed about Bush winning and blocked all of Bush’s incoming personnel. The time that Bush’s people could have been in their appropriate positions, and handling problems was spent finger fuckin with the poor sport dems. |

Could Rove's October Surprise Be Osama's Dead Carcass?
Neo-Fascists need a poster child for the war on terror to justify crushing kids' testicles and nuking Iran back to the stone age
Could Karl Rove's promised pre-election October surprise come in the form of Osama bin Laden's dead carcass and a propaganda coup for the universally abhorrent war on terror? Recent indications suggest the final nail in the coffin for this CIA poster child might be just around the corner.
In late 2002, nationally syndicated radio talk show host Alex Jones was told by a source close to the Bush family that bin Laden was already dead and that the body had been handed over after an agreement with the bin Laden family. The source said bin Laden was on ice and his death would be announced only right before the 2004 election.
Perhaps fearing fallout at the brazen transparency of this PR trick, Rove settled for a mere campaign endorsement from bin Laden's videotape release and it was enough to give Bush the four point swing he needed to reclaim the Oval Office. John Kerry blamed the late intervention http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4222647.stm for his defeat, Walter Kronkite accused Karl Rove of personally orchestrating it. George W. Bush later attributed his victory to the tape.
We are already witnessing the wheels of propaganda begin to turn in anticipation of a major announcement of Bin Laden's death.
Newsmax columnist Ronald Kessler cited Republican insiders as the source of the leak that Rove intends on pulling a rabbit out of the hat to guarantee another Republican sweep this November. Rove didn't predict an October surprise - he "promised" one.
News reports over the weekend have strongly introduced the premise into the minds of the public that bin Laden may now have bitten the dust. A leaked secret French foreign intelligence document concluded that the Saudis thought bin Laden was dead, a claim later denied. Reuters reports today that the Taliban say bin Laden is "alive and well."
There are several reliable indicators to suggest bin Laden died in early 2002 but in a sense it doesn't matter whether the physical bin Laden still walks the planet or not. It is his image, carefully molded, packaged and presented to the American people by the Pentagon's psy-op experts that dictates his activities, his characterization and even his very existence.
These are the same snake oil salesmen that launched a propaganda assault targeted at the "U.S. home audience," to grossly inflate Musab Al-Zarqawi's role in Iraq, a program that included manufacturing fake letters attributed to Al-Zarqawi and getting the compliant Mockingbird press whores http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird at the New York TImes to splash them on the front page of the Old Grey Lady. The aim of the plan was to reinforce the 9/11-Al-Qaeda-Iraq mirage and hoodwink Americans into thinking the ongoing bloodshed was a necessary reaction to the September 11 attacks as the fifth anniversary approached.
Like bin Laden, rumors of Al-Zarqawi's persistent death abounded but it was only with official proclamation that his Pentagon projected image was finally laid to rest.
Save a carefully staged false flag terror attack, the October surprise is likely to be some wonderfully coincidental breakthrough that will temporarily give the war on terror and by proxy the occupation of Iraq a thin veneer of sheen and saving grace. Don't be surprised at the end of October when CIA rent boy Osama again comes up with the goods that enable the Neo-Fascists to continue their unchallenged imperial crusade into Iran while legislating the necessity to sexually torture infants in order to make bewildered Pakistani goat herders http://www.commondreams.org/headlines05/0531-10.htm and perplexed Uzbek taxi drivers talk. http://www.prisonplanet.com/article...deadcarcass.htm |
