Repeated Shows: A Bullshit Way To Meet "40 New Shows A Month" - Click HERE to go to the original thread with graphics

they always justify repeating old shows by saying people are requesting to see certain shows again. i dare them to produce the person that requested "grillo as gunga dinn". this shit has put up 3 times already since i signed up.

i know cycling the same shows is a great way to reach your 40 new shows a month quota but youre not fooling anyone and its a slap in the face to everyone who pays for this service. put up the old e-shows. theres only about a billion classic moments that we havent seen.
Bogart45
That grillo as Gunga Din is horrible, not funny, and is retarded they showed that again.

They are doing better than months ago though, but I'd still like to see more E! shows being posted. I don't think 5 per week is enough when there are so many to show. They are meeting the 40 "new" shows though. 4 daily shows per week, 5 new E! shows per week, plus about 1 special per week. That's 10 per week/40+ per month. I really look forward to the E! shows though and would like to see a new one every day.

And stuff like the Stuck on You, Pushup Challenge, and John/Cabbie fight they should have released each one all on one day instead of speading it out over weeks.
MAGUSofHELLVIEW
you guys dont think it was a coincidence that Stuck on You was released over a period of 5 weeks.... so if people got hooked on it, theyd have to pay for the extra month just to see part 5???

i still find it funny that after 10 months, people are still complaining (including me), and HTV doesnt really care that much
Jellyfishlips
I cancelled my subscription this morning. I get tired of hunting for new shows, going over the same screens day after day. What's the point of watching the weekly shows when they are just sliced pieces of the daily shows? And some of the interviews are just not compelling enough after you've heard them a few times on Sirius. As a female I don't get any enjoyment watching chicks ride the Sybian. I was using HTV to help me fall asleep at night.
Cap420
I sort of understand why they replay the old shows....to give new subscribers a chance to see them.

At the same time though, what about those who have been subscribing? If they balanced both out, it would be fine. The updates are a joke though. I still don't have the Artie heroin revelalation.

I don't pay my cable bill (my uncle does), so I won't be cancelling. It's no money out of my pocket...which is sort of fucked up to say...but who cares. However, I have and will continue to tell people not to subscribe because of the lack of updates.

OnDemand needs to understand that people don't even have to subscribe to see the shows. You can easily download any Howard TV episode for free at various places on the net. People subscribe to support Howard. It's almost like they're asking people to cancel and just download the shows at this rate.

cancell every other month and you wont miss anything

daily interviews of guests make good radio sometimes, but watching it on tv some times is not that good, for example the john daily interview

I agree, but I thought the John Daly episode was great. Overall I only like about 1/3 of the interviews though. However, since I know the interviews will be on HTV, I usually turn off the radio during the interviews. Whether that's good or bad, that helps to make watching HTV better.

That's why I canceled~! Im not going to be a sucker for this bullshit. I'll wait till next summer to subscribe to HTV again. I just took a peek today to see what was listed and it's more fucking repeats as usual. Gange dressed up as that Hindu, Gary Puppet, Henry Hill Drunk...etc

Anyone who has been a long Stern fan knows Howard talks out of his fucking ass most of the time. Even his movie Private Parts when he fucked up on that Commercial - saying he had been shopping there as a kid and then later realizing it was the "Grand Opening" of this store..

Howard even made a comment 2 weeks ago about the Music Awards and how it's the same old Recycled Shit and just "Re Packaged" -- and then going on saying he spoke w/ Mel and said he could make a bunch of money doing the same thing...
artistbehr
HTV sucks
SteelRat
I don't understand why people fixate on the repeats so much instead of just ignoring them. There are still 40 episodes a month excluding the repeats. They could just not put those repeats up, but they're there for the people that are newer to the service and haven't seen them before. That's the beauty of On Demand, you pick which episodes you want to see.

even though i rarely watch the repeats, it is nice to have just in case..... but i still think it stems from the fact that old E! shows that are sooooo much better have not been put up insatead... and even some of the repeated stuff is simply not that funny.

id rather have a whole category of Best of HTV where the fans can vote on what they wanna see stay on HTV forever (or each month)... or whatever shows are viewed the most stay in that category.... stuff like Babapology or Artie in Vegas should really never go away
bethhasfakeboob
40 new episodes means 40 new episodes for everyone, not just a new subscriber. There is no F_ _ _ing way an old subscriber is getting 40 new episodes per month. Anyone who thinks otherwise is lying through their teeth. An old subscriber is lucky if they get 25 new never before shown episodes. I have been a subscriber from day one of the launch of the channel, and there is no way I can say that I get 40 new episodes I have never seen per month. I do not count repeats of shows that were first offered months ago. The best way to go is subscribe for a month, cancel, then resubscribe after about 2 months, then cancel again, and so on and so forth. That way you will think that you are getting a lot for your money.

No, you’re wrong. You and most people here are underestimating the number of new shows that are actually added because they come out a couple at a time. Bogart's post above is correct. I have actually listed them out each month and counted, excluding any repeats that have aired since he beginning of the service or any Best of the Weeks, and there are still about 40 a month, although it fell short by a couple in July and August when there were so few new Daily shows.
Walker66
Another repeat being called a new show: John the Stutterer/G-Spot.
deezz
When I watch TV it's usually HTV. They have definitely improved over the last few months. Better productions and more timely turn arounds.

Sirius_Sam22
They should just create a new folder called Repeated or something and put those shows in there
Cap420
Last thing I have listed in Daily Shows is Nick/Aron Carter.

W T F?

It's Thursday and still nothing from this past fucking week?

Since the first show this week was Tuesday's, it's only due just now. I got it after midnight last night, Mr. T and Beetlejuice.

I agree that HTV has gotten better but I'm on the fence about canceling. I like Doug sometimes on the radio but I think he is dropping the ball on HTV?

What do you guy's think, should I cancel?

i wasnt worried about september making the quotient, you said you have listed all the months since you got the service. show me at least one other month where they made 40.

(although i must admit i was thinking about the pitiful summer they had when i said they couldnt have reached 40 and didnt see that you acknowledged july and august fell short).
SteelRat
I hope you have backup lights on your ass with all that backtracking. All I said was that even without repeats they're still doing around 40, backing up what Bogart said and correcting the guy that doubted there were 25. You had to attack me and be an asshole about it. Noooow, oh you didn't doubt there might have been that many last month.

In the pathetic summer, August was waaaaay short of 40 with only 39:

I am just pissed about what I missed waiting for the cable company in my backwards ass city to offer Howard TV!!! I missed the damn Cindy Margolis Strip Jeopardy show which I really wanted to see badly!!!

So far, I am pleased with Howard TV, but I have only had it about a month.
bethhasfakeboob
"Mary Carey Drunk" episode shown as a new show again by Howard TV. I know that show was on a couple of months ago as a Daily show. Changing the category does not , I repeat not make it a new show. But, there are people that insist it is a new show so it can be counted as the 40 new shows per month. BULL SSSSSS!!!!!!

No, the whole point of my posts above was counting WITHOUT any shows that had ever been on before. So far in October, there have already been 45 new shows posted that have never aired before, not including Mary Carey Drunk and others like it.

The On Demand system always shows anything that’s been posted within the last 7 days as “New”, it has nothing to do with whether it’s been run before. If HBO posts a movie from 1990 or an episode from Sopranos Season 1, it shows up as “New” even if it’s been on a hundred times before. This has nothing to do with Howard TV or anyone claiming it hasn’t been on before, it’s how the On Demand system indicates that a clip is recently posted.

i still find it funny when people dont understand the "NEW" tag on ondemand shows... but yea... october was a good month for HTV... only took them a fuckin year to have a fantastic month

i think the problem is that each cable provider displays their content differently. cablevison in NY doesn't show any indication of a show being new at all! we just scroll through the menus and try to figure out if a listing was there the night before or not. additionally we had an entire week of no updates this month, (although they're tried to push them al though sat/sun night) so on my end october '06 has not been a stellar month for howard tv! not to mention the content has been so/so. i mean listening to the hogans on the radio was mildly entertaining, watching them on tv for an hour is nearly impossible! that said howard tv is really the only tv i watch, just wish it was produced a little better and not so haphazardly thrown together.
ashey larry
It is not that good for some reason. Not roatated enough. I think the tv staion ruins the radio show because howard has to have sub par sluts in there for the tv subscribers. I'd rather have a comedian or someone in there who really has something to contribute.
