Just wondering if anyone else with a Mazda factory radio, is having problems.
Ever since last week's update, The radio just says "updating".
It hasen't worked in over a week.
Anyone here have any insight? |

Well now it's been almost 2 weeks.
Our fucking radios still don't work!
Sirius may have 5.1 million customers,
but if they are counting all the radios in Mazda vehicles, THEY'RE WRONG. |

A couple of things to try:
1. Disconnect the red battery cable for a few minutes. This might allow the radio to reset completely. Also, read the manual for the radio and see if there's a way to reset it to the factory defaults via the controls/buttons.
2. Have Sirius resend your radio an activation signal. Or tell them to deactivate and reactivate your receiver. It sounds like your radio is hanging due a break in the satellite link while it was updating. In other words it lost connection while updating and now it's in limbo. I think there's a way to resend yourself this reactivation signal from your account management webpage.
Somehow, you need to reset it by powering down the system completely away from the car battery which is constantly sending current to it, AND/OR reset it to the factory defaults. It should then restart fresh and try to update all the channels once again as long as it doesn't lose the satellite link again. If none of this works, try taking it to a Mazda dealership for servicing. They will know how to reset the radio to the factory defaults. Hope this helps. Good luck. |

Thanks!
Done it all.
Got an email from Sirius tonight.
A faulty update went out to all Mazda factory radios.
Somebody fucked up.
Michael Moore, VP of customer service says that they have isolated the problem.
All Sirius radios will be getting a new update sometime next week.
Lets hope next weeks update doesn't knock out another 6,000 customers. |
