i ve seen all the threads about the fm transmitter on the starmates being really weak, but i think im having a different problem. i just bought two of the starmate replays and the boomboxes model number stb2..the one that came with the recent free offer
when i plug the starmtes into the boombox, i get zero fm transmission..i checked all of the settings and nothing...the best i can figure is that since the boombox plugs into the starmate with the audio jack that this keeps it from transmitting
i know the signals are weak, but i cant even pick it up on a stereo less than 5 ft away...is there something wrong or will it not trasmit if its plugged into a boombox
i checked on sirius backstage and didnt see anything other than that sirius wont help because their feeling is that you shouldnt be using the fm transmitter inside the house anyway

| I think that it could be a cause of the FM Transmitter being that weak. I need to get a new Starmate but am afraid too because with the one i have now i am able to walk all over the warehouse with my walkman and get perfect reception and everyone keeps saying the Transmitter on the new radios are all crap. |

I dont know if this will help but i talked to the guys at The Sirius Store and they said this works good http://www.ccrane.com/radios/fm-tra...ransmitter.aspx
They also told me they give you a FM Transmitter with certain radios you buy because the Transmitter in the radio is so bad now thanks to the FCC. |

i appreciate the help man...i have one of those ccrane's for my s50 and i freaking love it..i did the tweak that was posted here and i can hear the thing 1/4 mile from my house
i was just hoping i wouldnt have to buy one but i think im going to..id imagine im going to have to have the thing hardwired into the car bc i was reading on sirius backstage that there werent any channels people could use that were clear |

| I am not sure how it works with the new version of the Starmate Replay but the version i have all i had to do was take off my car antenna and i have no problems at all. I am going to have to get the Crane when i get paid tomorrow so if i get the new Starmate i should be ok at work, so i wont miss a thing on the show. |
