| Anyone else use these? Mine just burned out a little. It rarely turns on if ever. I have to keep pulling the AC cord in and out for it to turn on correctly. |

| From what I understand, there is a known problem with the power supply connection on this unit. I myself have one of these with the same issue. With the setup I have in my car, it is ideal for me. Mine has not yet completely stopped working. I bought a back up from ebay for almost nothing. |

| The radio has a known defect. My first one worked perfectly for about 4 months...then all of a sudden it could only keep a signal for precisely 20 minutes. I have to admit that customer service at X-Act was great...I returned it and got another in about a week...and the replacement did the exact same thing after about a week. I've given up on that radio and model. I'm not returning the second. They win. They beat me. |

I use 2 of them, one is in my wife's car,it's about 9 months old,had no issues so far,and mine I use in my car on the way to work,in my bigrig at work, and @home as well,I have had it since 7/05.I lost count the number of times I dropped it off the mount or it fell out of my hands beween vehicles and it has not given me any trouble at all!
Maybe a certain lot of them were defective?
I plan to keep mine until they fizzzle out,I like the display with the clock, and I got used to missing most of my S-SEEKs.
I will say that the boombox for this model is a piece of shit, stay away from that crap!!! |

| i've gone through two of these. they SUCK! after approx. 6 months both of them would no longer receive the signal from the antenna. i'm not gonna buy another one, and tell everyone to stay away from xact. i should have known better the second time, but i though maybe the first was a fluke. i kinda blame sirius for letting shitty companies make radios for them. |

I just sent in my 2nd Jockey XTR1 in to Xact today to get it replaced.
After about 2 hours of using it, it goes silent and says "aquiring signal" even with full bars.
Then I turn it off and back on and it just cycles on and off.
Oh yeah, the backlight on the buttons doesn't work.
I'd upgrade but I bought the damn boombox for it.
BTW, I have an S-50 also so I'm not SOL.

I have two XRT1s and a Power Pod.
One is 22 months old, the other is 10 months old. Both are in operation more than 12 hours per day.
No problems whatsoever, and enjoying the use of the "first truly portable" Sirius receiver. |

| I too had problems with the XACT XTR1. I used it in my truck, house, and boom box. After about 1 1/2 years i started to cycle on and off. I sent it back and they replaced it, but I had to pay $40, which was about half the cost of when I bought it. I already have a car unit, home unit, and boom box, so I decided to pay for the replacement. I now have a Starmate replay for my truck which I love. |

| I have the XTRA1 and the POD. The XTRA1 works great. The POD is just starting to fail after 22 months. It intermittantly says antenna not detected. I move the antenna around a bit and it comes back. Iam just waiting to the end of the contract in another month and that will be the end of the unit. I bought the Starmate replay when they had the sale. Much better unit, though not portable like the XTRA1. Any ideas besides XSTAR for making it portable? |

| They had the XS088 on the website. I e-mailed them and they have no plans to sell it at this time. Any other solutions? |

I tried a trick from the Xtr1 thread.I turned down the contrast and brightness to minimum to keep the heat down,it runs soo hot.
Seems to work pretty well.
maybe that will extend the life of the unit....... |

Just to show how unpredictable this unit is....after I got pissed off and tossed the second replacement in the corner for a couple of weeks, for the helluvit I reconnected it a few days ago and it seems to run perfectly. Go figure.
I guess the point of all these stories is that we need to be prepared to replace our hardware often. |

| If you keep plugging and unplugging the AC power you might get it to work occassionally. |
