| Shamrock used to be great. Why he wanted to get his ass kicked by Tito not once, but three times is a mystery to me ... |
| mook300 |
| Tito could be tired from having Jenna as his new girlfriend..... |
| 000RockStar000 |
| Tito is going to hurt Shamrock so bad...at the weigh-in yesterday, Shamrock was all smiling and making faces...trying to lighten the situation and take Tito off his game with some levity...not going to happen. Tito's all business and his only goal is to be champion again. I don't think he can beat Hughes, but Ken Shamrock...done deal. |
| tatguy75 |
yeah, Tito is going put Shamrock into retirement
you don't think Tito could beat Hughes even with the big weight difference? would be an interesting fight, but Tito/Franklin or Tito/Sylvia would be even more interesting |

Hughes and Ortiz are not in the same weight class. Ortiz wants to beat Liddell, which is possible, but not likely. |

| BTW, I'm totally stoked for the fight tonight. It's gonna kick ass. Even if it's another 30 second fight, there are a bunch of other fights on the card and it's FREE!!! |

| I watched the first one, and shamrock was embarrassed. His face looked like a meatloaf. |
| 000RockStar000 |
| I don't know if Tito could beat Hughes...that dude is sooo strong, and his ground game is just as good as Tito's...now Tito vs Franklin would be good...I think Franklin would have a reach advantage, and his rubber guard is hard to get by, but Tito might be able to make it happen. As for Sylvia...very tough guy, but beatable...then again, I'm a big Arlovski fan, so I kind of hold a grudge... |

I know they are in different weight classes, but I had heard they were building hype on that fight...probably wrong, but that's what I was going off. |

Agreed, Tito will definately take Shamrock again. It might last a few extra seconds this time but Shamrock is tired and old. He needs to take a que from Couture and retire. Hughes? No way, that boy is a beast. The reason I like the UFC so much is because their title holders are unbelieveable beasts. Tim Sylvia? Matt Hughes? Rich Franklin? Chuck Liddell? I'm not sure there is anyone who can beat any of these guys in their perspective weight classes. And I'm almost convinced Liddell could beat anyone in any weight class. It's rediculous. This fight will end just like the last 2 without a doubt, the only difference will be how fast will Tito lay him out this time. And I think Tito is more bark than bite, honestly. |
| 000RockStar000 |
| I think if Tito gets the advantage like he did last time, he might back off and let Shamrock get up...really work his ego and the crowd. |

| cool thanks for the heads up, i hope tito breaks shamrocks fat head. |

I think the UFC was way better before they added shit like weight classes and rounds and rules and shit.
But I guess the alternative was that it would only be held in international waters :( |
| 000RockStar000 |
| I think some rules make it better. When there were no rounds, the fights would start off good, but they had no choice but to slow down as they got tired...no chance to cool off and get their heartbeats down a little bit. Weight-classes are a must...you need mulitple champions to keep the industry moving. I wouldn't mind bare-knuckles again...but some of the things in "no rules" were holding UFC back...like grabbing the hair...eventually every single fighter would be bald...less personality in the ring. |
| 000RockStar000 |
| ...did everyone's screen just go green? |
| kettleone |
| Did anyone check out Tito last night on total access, it showed where and how he trains, it was pretty cool...all I have to say is I hope Shamrock has been training that hard because if not his face is going to look worse than the first fight....he is going to get his ass kicked, Tito should put him down in the first round, can't wait...... |
| 000RockStar000 |
| ...ahh...never mind. The moved the thread to Ferrall's page...makes sense...duh. |

Part of that is what type of fight you like. I know that lots of fans seem to like standup. Me, if I want to see that, I'll watch a boxing match. I want to see ground work. Ground and pound or submissions. So the fight slowing down doesn't bother me, for the most part. Taktarov-Abott was slow, I'll admit that.
As for multiple champions ... well, again I disagree based on personal preference. Back in the old days, the point was that the little guys could take out big monsters. The point was also putting different types of fighters against each other. The sport has changed a lot since those days. Now, you need a wide range of skills from different fighting styles. That's why Royce Gracie was stupid for fighting Matt Hughes.
But what I really can't stand is PRIDE with that stupid ring. Every time they get into the ropes, they have to restart. Lose the ropes and get a fucking cage. |
| tatguy75 |
So the titleholders all look pretty strong right now. Who's the first one to get upset? Slyvia seems beatable, especially if Arloski gets back on track. Anyone else's thoughts?
Not sure who would/could step up to beat Hughes, Franklin, or Lidell in their weight classes ... |
| Dralix |
| I think GSP can take Hughes |
| Turd_Cutter |
| Tito is a 7-1 favorite. Shamrock needs to stay off his back to have a prayer. If he was smart he would try to keep his distance and strike with Tito but that's easier said than done. |

I agree, I think there were more 'exciting' fights if you could call them that when they were held Tournament-style back in the day when Royce would fight 3-4 times a night and win it all. Plus the bare-knuckle fighting was always better in my opinion but they don't want as many fights being stopped due to cuts so they adopted 4-oz gloves. My solution? Why not cater to both. Why not hold a tournament every year (like Wrestlemania was for WWE) where every weight class holds a tournament for the belt. It could be a major PPV event that spans a whole week. Subscribe to whatever weight classes you want to watch and every belt is up based on the tournament. And then during the year continue to hold matches like they do now. :dontknow: |
| 000RockStar000 |
| Ugh...I don't like PRIDE either. I don't think Pierre could take Hughes. Hughes has "farm strength" backing his skill, and while Pierre is proficient, so is Hughes. Franklin could be the next to go with a pay-per-view coming up...but it's hard to tell...that man can fight through some punishment...broken hands don't slow him down... |

| I saw these 2 meatheads arguing on Stephen Jacksons loud ass show. Shamrock was bitching because Tito doesnt respect the fighters like shamrock who paved the way for young guys like Tito . |

That could be sweet, but you'd have to look at the financial aspect of it...most people only buy the pay-per-views to see the champions...so chances are they wouldn't buy a show with just undercards...a "Champions" pay-per-view would have to be very expensive to make up for that... |

What Shamrock doesn't understand is...Tito respects other fighters...he just doesn't respect Shamrock...and probably the biggest reason he refuses to respect Shamrock is...Shamrock expects respect |

One round. The only way I could see it going longer is if Tito pounds Ken on the ground for awhile, and then let's him stand to prolong the fight, and really punk out Ken. |

Not an actual knockout, but referee stoppage due to ground and pound. |
| 000RockStar000 |
| Ref Stoppage...yup. The best part is, whoever is the ref (probably McCarthy), they are going to really let it get heated before they step in...the last fight might have made them gun-shy. |

| This kid from Ohio is just giving this guy a beat down |

Hamill winning the the first two rounds via ground and pound.
If these two were experienced fighters or good fighters this would have been over long ago.
TUF noobs take notes |
| richlk8177 |
| I didnt think this fight would be any good but i am surprised it is turning out to be a really good one |

Hamill could be good in another year, but right now he just doesn't have enough technique.
Not a horrible fight, but in a year Hamill ends it in the first round. |

This time, Shamrock did go limp.
Looked like Shamrock was defeated before he got ot the octagon. I was a wrester for 6 years, and any levity by an opponent meant he knew he was done, and might as well try to make it a good experience [i.e. "well, at least I learned / was ablel to / I kept him from ..."] |

| The Herman-MacDonald fight was amazing! |
| Blade_Jones |
| Shamrock looked small compared to Ortiz. Lopsided waste of air time. :o |
| nedmark61 |
| ill give it to shamrock on this....he did show class and squashed the beef.....and tito showed class after they shook hands......TITO IS THE MAN AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN!! |
| Turd_Cutter |
| Shamrock could not have initiated a worse gameplan if he tried. The only prayer he had of winning was to keep it standing and instead he shoots for a takedown. :o |

i thought overall last night was a good warmup for this weekend's pay-per-view bouts. will be cool to see franklin back in the ring. not the best fights ever, but leave you wanting more - causing everyone to go pay for this weekend's fights
my predictions for saturday: franklin in a ko or stoppage in the second round. in the lightweight fight, i think florian will submit sherk in the first round. thoughts? |

Anderson Silva has a really good chin so I would expect that if Franklin wins, it will be by armbar. I think Sherk will win via ground and pound. He is so stubby that it's almost impossible to submit him. |

| tatguy75 |
| should be a solid card either way |

| I think Franklin will win by a choke...don't count Franklin out on the ground..with those long legs...triangle heaven... |

A QUICK great fight.
Tito has zero chance standing up against Chuck.
He may be able to man-handle an over-the-hill gimp like Shamrock, but Liddell is a totally different story.
I say Liddell in 2 minutes again. |

| Regarding Tito/Hughes, they did compete against each other a few years back in Abu Dhabi Submission Wrestling, in the U.A.E. Tito owned him in sub wrestling, including slamming Hughes. |
