Bush Signs Terror Interrogation Law

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush signed legislation Tuesday authorizing tough interrogation of terror suspects and smoothing the way for trials before military commissions, calling it a "vital tool" in the war against terrorism.

Bush's plan for treatment of the terror suspects became law just six weeks after he acknowledged that the CIA had been secretly interrogating suspected terrorists overseas and pressed Congress to quickly give authority to try them in military commissions.

"With the bill I'm about to sign, the men our intelligence officials believe orchestrated the murder of nearly 3,000 innocent people will face justice," Bush said.

A coalition of religious groups staged a protest against the bill outside the White House, shouting "Bush is the terrorist" and "Torture is a crime." About 15 of the protesters, standing in a light rain, refused orders to move. Police arrested them one by one. [ More ]

So we talk alot of shit about our "freedom" but in the end we think our sysytem is bullshit?? By the way, authorizing tourture is a huge leap to US criminal courts. It doens have to be one extreme or the other. Many so called "terrorists" have been release from Gitmo and shit. So not everyone with the terror tag acctually ends up being a terrorist.

I think Congress should be like police officers. You dont get a tazer until youve been tazered yourslef. Let the congress be tourtured for a few seconds and see if they are cool with it.

dude the sad part is like over 700 cases have been let go as innocent, and only about 16 have been even found guilty of anything at all, and of those only 3 are islamic.

something is LOPSIDED here, why is the war on islamic terrorists, and they dont tell you that really there are not any.. it is a fake war...
