I have the SiriusOne reciever and bring it up from my car to my house. I was wondering if I went out and picked up a "home" antenna, would that improve my singal as opposed to just using the "car" antenna? What about an external antenna that you can mount outside your window? Does anyone have one of those? I live an apartment and considered getting an external but my buliding is brick, how can I mount the antenna on a brick surface?
thanks. |

| The home antenna works better than the car antenna .I used to use a car antenna in my house then bought the home antenna that is sold at the sirius store and it has a better signal |

An external antenna is always best, just make sure you mount it as high as possible, with a clear unobstructed path to the South Dakota skies. To mount them just use brick/concrete anchor screws.
Here is an external antennas I've used. Once you install these you'll have 100% perfect reception even in bad weather/snow. They're well worth the extra effort:

So, is the consensus that this antenna:
Would provide a stronger signal from on my windowsill than this one:
But, for the home, this is the best, if you can mount it:

Exactly. I've had the turk antenna for two years now and rarely have less then 3 bars. Before I had the outside antenna I couldn't keep a signal for more then a few minutes. |

I use the last one (below) at home and didn't mount it just propped it up and put two bricks on the bottom to hold it from falling over. You can usually find a brick at any construction site around the city.
It works much better at home. But constantly make sure the wire that attaches to the top circular part is always connected. It seems to come loose every once in a while, but much better reception in the house.

| I was just using the home antenna, mounted outside of the back door, about 6 feet up on the outer wall of the house. I was getting drop-outs all the time (at least twice a day) because of the the neighbors house, trees, etc. I picked up one of the 50 ft. antenna extensions (w/built in amplifier) and haven't had a drop since! Most def. the cheapest fix. |

| I work on the eight floor in Pasadena Ca.. The car antenna was the only one that worked and it stopped. Now I get the NO ANTENNA DETECTED, the signal constantly comes in and out. |

I am shopping for a new car antenna. The old one is having the problem of the wire insulation fraying where it leaves the antenna body. This new one is advertised as "High Gain". Has anyone upgraded and noticed an improvement? Nice design, looks like a stingray. :D
