LOL I'm posting from my treo so I might wait until I'm back home to hit some of those with thoughtful answers.... but I can answer some of the short ones:

Age: 31

Male

I live in the suburbs outside of Philly (transplanted from Colorado) with my fiance and our 2 dogs...

I have a BA in Art History and some graduate work completed in Historic Preservation.

For the past 5 years I have been working a Regional Account Executive for a reverse distributor in the pharmaceutical services industry. We process expired and recalled pharmaceuticals on behalf of hospitals, retail pharmacies, the US Gov't so they can receive credit from the drug manufacturers.

I am a registered Independent, always have been.

I am as liberal a person as you will find, but I have voted for at least one Republican in almost every election I can remember. I would say overall the breakdown is probably 75/25 democrat/republican. I have no problem voting for an honest, free-thinking conservative if he or she is the better candidate.

Awesome Sir-
Great to know you and I look forward to further analysis and commentary. I think the more we get to know each other in a safe net sense, the more constructive the conversations we can have- also- you are a contributing member of SFN Poly Shit-

What? You don't want to know my politics? Maybe they're not that easy to discern.
Ass Boil
I did not vote for either Bush. The first election I was old enough to vote in was 92, and I voted for Perot. In 96 I thought I would voice my displeasure with the choices by refusing to vote, which I immediately regretted. In 2000 I was already aware of what a failure Bush was, so I considered him to be a joke...

I am agnostic on religion. I consider organized religion to be for the weak.

If I had "executive authority", the 3 big things I would want to accomplish would be:
1. Institute an expanded program of optional national service, not necessarily military, where a period of service for the gov't will get you a 4 year college degree.

2. National health care. No american should be put into poverty because they get sick.

3. Institute recommended measures to actually secure THIS country, including nuclear facilities, cargo, chemical plants, travel, etc...

I'll have to hit the rest in awhile....

The fact that you claim to have a college degree in finance, yet regularly get stomped here on economics issues by people with no education in finance tells us all we need to know about you, little bitch.

That's a tricky one. I have little hope that any agreement would last, but I think the 1947 UN Partition was the best attempt. I would do as much as possible to get to some resolution resembling that.... then wait 5 minutes for one side to fuck it up...

Quote: How would you resolve the Iraqi war?

I am a proponent of Ambassador Galbraith's idea of dividing the country into 3 sections, giving each ethnic group it's own sovereign territory. Something would have to be worked out with respect to oil revenue, because all the oil is in the shiite and Kurdish areas... I think the Arab League and NATO should play a large role in making it work. It may not last, but it is the only chance that would also get our troops the fuck out of there, ASAP.

Quote: Do you think Al Queda is our enemy?

Of course al qaeda is our enemy. In one form or another there will always be an "al qaeda"...

Quote: What do you think about the war on terror in general?

Without withdrawing completely into isolationism, we need to take a serious look at who our real "friends" are. I truly believe we should be doing EVERYTHING in our power to develop alternative energies that would break us of our bonds with people who have no love for us... That being said, there will obviously be times where we will need to act to protect ourselves, and the best way to be prepared for that is with valuable human intelligence and a properly trained and equipped military.

The other way to be prepared is to understand there is no way to prevent every possible scenario of being attacked. But smart measures should be taken to minimize the risks while protecting as much of our freedoms as possible.

Quote: What are the five most important issues facing America today?

In no particular order:
-our house of cards economy: Our children will be paying for this president's mistakes for a long time.

-a false sense of security: Invading countries that pose no threat to us and creating more terrorists while failing to secure our own country is obviously counterproductive...

-a miserable election system: The world's supposed example for democracy should also set the standard for free and fair elections. What we have now is a fucking joke.

-health care: we pay more for our health care in the US than anyone on the planet, and have nothing to show for it. No american should be forced into poverty because of an illness or injury.

-an apathetic society: It is sickening how little americans care about what is going on in this country and what is done in their names...

I'll take a stab at it:

I'll hit 'em but backwards:

18. Loss of manufacturing jobs and the diminishing ability to create new industry. Health care. Social Security. Violent crime. Tax bail out for wealthy industry. and yes, terrorism is not on the list.

17. The war on terror is being won by the opponent and perpetuated by this Republican governement. Little has been done save for increased airport security and a bullshit fence at the southern border.

16. Al Queda is our enemy and certainly more so with each passing day.

15. The only way to solve anything that appears to be a problem is to put your best foot forward. That will mean it would take a VERY unpopular decision to increase troops there by at least 4 times what is there currently. Stop the bullshit about things slowing down and get to work on the business at hand. Whether any attempt to resolve Iraq would be successful is very hard to see. You can only do your best and we haven't done that with the little amount of troops that we've sent over there. The world has seen that we're stretched thin and our "super power" status has been diminished because Republicans won't act altruisticly and are afraid that a draft would be political suicide so they sent what they had. What they/we had was not enough.

14. Why? It's their respective country let them deal with it.

13. Three supreme decisions, hmmm, ice cream on Thursday's... There are many so I'll throw out just the first three that come to mind: Mandatory 2 year military service of some kind(Peace corps, Reserve, Navy, Marines, et cetera). Move monies away from faith based initiatives and other superflous special interest funds and direct them towards R&D for everthing from Stem Cell research to engineering and science to help create the next big industry(i.e. the internets, PC's, etc...). Create a healthcare system so that people can receive good care in time of crisis and so that they won't lose their homes too. There's a bunch of stuff I've always thought about. While I don't smoke pot, it should be legalized just as alcohol is and make it a taxable intity. While I'm at it, why don't we get rid of "massage parlours" and "accupressure parlours" and call them what they are: brothels. Legalize prostitution and make it a taxable entity. It would reduce disease, increase the money a state has to work with, and relieve all sorts of stress for our workforce. There's more...

12. I am a member of the internet church of "Chicks and booze". No religion. Religion is several fairy tales bundled as a book supposedly written by deciples and the like. Read a few pages of Leviticus and you'll realize it's all just silly.

11. I voted for Bush Sr. and Reagan.

10. I have not voted Democrat -didn't like Clinton at the time but as the years roll by I like him more and more(except that NAFTA bullshit). I experience very good times financially with him and just now starting to get back a little. Bush Jr.'s policy has been rough on small business.

9. I voted for Reagan, Bush because, quite simply, I liked what they had to say. Lots of good ideas and convictions. They spoke from a real place and not an agenda. They didn't come off like they were full of shit like the current administration does. I'm no longer a republican because of this white house and moreso the pundits that prop this joke of a presidency up. I used to vote for republicans and not just against democrates. Now I plan to vote against republicans.

8. 20+ years Republican but not anymore. Just signed up as a Libertarian.

7. Libertarian

6. Retired from everyday work but still an avid investor and own real estate.

5. BA - Business Administration

4. 35

3. Santa Monica, CA

2. Yes, I'm a male

1. I'm 35 still.

And now, a very attractive woman for no apparent reason.
