IT'S OK TO KILL GAYS - BRITISH IMAM
24 October 2006
The leading imam in Manchester, confirms that he thinks the execution of sexually active gay men is justified, the rights group Outrage reported.
Arshad Misbahi of the Manchester Central Mosque confirmed his views in a conversation to John Casson, a local psychotherapist.
Casson said: "I asked him if the execution of gay Muslims in Iran and Iraq was an acceptable punishment in Sharia law, or the result of culture, not religion.
"He told me that in a true Islamic state, such punishments were part of Islam: If the person had had a trial, at which four witnesses testified that they had seen the actual homosexual acts."
"I asked him what would be the British Muslim view? He repeated that in an Islamic state these punishments were justified. They might result in the deaths of thousands but if this deterred millions from having sex, and spreading disease, then it was worthwhile to protect the wider community."
"I checked again that this was not a matter of tradition, culture or local prejudice. 'No,' he said, 'It is part of the central tenets of Islam: that sex outside marriage is forbidden; this is stated in the Koran and the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had stated that these punishments were due to such behaviours.'"
Gay man rights campaigner Peter Tatchell said, "It is disturbing that some British imams are endorsing the execution of gay and lesbian Muslims.
"Imam Arshad Misbahi's homophobic attitudes give comfort and succor to queer-bashers. They encourage conflict and disharmony between Manchester's large gay and Muslim communities.
"Muslim and gay people know the pain of prejudice and discrimination. We should be working together to challenge homophobia and Islamophobia. I hope liberal Muslims will speak out in defense of the human rights of lesbians and gay men," said Tatchell.
Adnan Ali, founder of the British branch of al-Fatiha, an organisation for gay and lesbian Muslims, told Gay.com that "a person with such an obsession about execution of human beings is not even entitled to be addressed as Imam."
"Islam is a very tolerant religion and celebrates the human diversity in its core message," Ali said.
"The holy book Qur'an does not mention anywhere about the execution or killing of human beings on the basis of their sexuality. What surprises is this obsession of the Islamic clerics to killing and execution. Why? What about dialogue? Discussion?
"Arshad Misbahi's comparison of same-sex relation to adultery is nothing but ignorant and utterly irresponsible rhetoric, manifesting the wrong teachings of Islam. The media should . . . not take it for granted as the general view of the Muslim community all over."

Oh yea, because Christians can't be terrorists or violent. Who is it that was blowing up abortion clinics a few years ago? Who was it that was sniping doctors who performed abortions? Who was it that blew up the Federal building in Oklahoma City? Who was that in the armed standoff in Waco? Who was it that lead the mass suicide in Guyana where US congressmen were also murdered? Who was it that was bombing the shit out of London and Belfast a few years back?
There's just a few from the last 25 or so years... should I go on? because, Christians were having a real ball a few hundred years ago!

Sorry, McVeigh was not a religious fanatic and the bombing was not done in the name of any religion or to promote any religious beliefs. None of those 'acts' you mentioned was done with the intent to take over specific countries, and institute absolute religious law.
As far as Waco was concerned, why not ask Janet Reno why it was that the government murdered American citizens for no reason other than they had a few guns.
Care to match the death count of Islamic terrorists against those you mentioned?
I agree that all religion is fucked....but there is only 1 major religion with the intent and actions designed to instill its radical beliefs worldwide...and its not a Christian religion. |

Wrong again, and again and again... McVeigh was in direct response to Waco.

The Christian world was and still is being attacked by Islam. They began this battle long ago.
Taking Spain in 711. Thankfully they lost in France in 732. They took Egypt, N. Africa, Persia, Afghanistan, and are still at war with India. Italy suffered. Europe suffered.
If you want to define "Crusade" then the Islamic Crusade is the one to use because that is neverending.
Your idea that all religions are bad and all that, it's not bad maybe to think that way, but it's kind of like saying that all spiders are bad. Some are worse than others. Islam has got a real nasty bite. |

ok, interesting post first we have mcveigh..
A GOVERNERs brother wrote the book The Final Jihad: When the "Best of the Worst" Finally Come for Us

before the oklahoma city bombings occurred. In the book Tom McVeigh does the same exact thing that Tim McVeigh did in real life
Then we have the waco deal, which I actually agree with you on. did you know that 2 of the clinton bodyguard guys died there that day, they threw a grenede in on them killing them.. ( not david, but the ATF/military guys) and another dummy shot hisself in the leg when he was on the ladder.... but yeah the military/atf murdered them, it was cold and calculated..
now islamic terrorists, this is interesting because you already know I can prove that the cia was behind the wtc attacks, and outside of that we have only 3 people from the latest war on terror that have been tried as islamic terrorists, and over 70 have been released as innocent, then you have the other 12 that were tried and were not islamic, so your point is slowly fading... I can go on...

McVeigh STILL was not a religious fanatic, response to WACO or not.
You brought up the last 25 years or so....why do you now need to go back centuries. Seems that one religion has evolved for the good...Christianity....and one for the not so good..Islam.
As long as those in the Islamic faith obey the law, I have no problem with them. This isn't however, only about Islamic Americans. There are those in radical Islam accross the world who would love nothing better than to kill thousands if not millions of Americans with the ultimate goal of imposing their twisted view of the world on everyone. Care to defend that?? Care to offer an example of a major Christian religion with the same goals and methods??
Once again...liberals are miserable. I couldn't be happier living in the greatest country that has ever existed. Too bad you don't feel the same. |

Define 'fortress full of military weapons' ?? I think you are overstating the case. Were the weapons they did have legal? Did the government have multiple opportunities to arrest Koresh before the beginning of the seige?? Had any of the BD's committed terrorist acts?? Were any of the BD's associated with terrorist groups or funding of those groups.
Each situation would be case by case. If the EXACT same scenario took place with the ONLY difference being Islam vs, whatever religion the BD's followed, I would be a little more suspicious because of all the destruction Islam has wrought on the world, but would not support ANYTHING similar to what was done at Waco.
What we have at Waco is th US government murdering US citizens (including women and children) without any justification for such drastic action. |

When I say liberals are miserable, I mean that it is my contention that to be a liberal means you must be miserable. Being a liberal (in today's America) means that the US is a force for evil in the world, being a liberal means that the glass is alway half empty, never half full, they consistently complain about everything they perceive as negative, while almost never celebrating all the positives aspects of our country and its people. Being a liberal means that you complain that outcomes are not equal for all, without celebrating the fact that everyone has a wonderful opportunity to be and do whatever he/she chooses. Everyone can be a success if they choose to be. A liberal sees victims first, opportunity for individuals last. It might not be every liberal, but it would be the vast majority of them.
2 other things:
- Not all Democrats are liberal. My generalization would not apply to non liberal democrats.
- If you browse the history of this board, you will see that the vast majority (not all) of the hate-speech, contempt for the country, contempt for our way of life comes from the hard left. |

well before 911 i never voted or knew much about politics and didnt care.
i still am not sure what a liberal is. i only assume i am one cause thats what 1,000s of republicans say i am when i protest the iraq war, which i have done from the day it started.

For the record... I'm not up on the nuances of Texas gun laws, but I'm pretty sure the ATF has the jurisdiction to inspect and investigate any threats of illegal firearms in the US. As I recall, Koresh refused to comply. That makes him no longer an innocent... anyone that stockpiles the volume of hardware he was, had better draw some attention from the ATF; or they're not doing their job. And NO... If that is your only proof that McVeigh was a religious fanatic, you are on very thin ice. Ever think that as his response to Waco was an anti government response, not a pro religious response??? Its a sick view either way, but for purposes of this argument, he was NOT a religious fanatic. You have done NOTHING to prove that he was.
Quote: Originally posted by Monster_Zero My point was that I don't... Christians can be terrorists same as any other group founded on myth and superstition. Just because they haven't been on the front page in a couple years, doesn't mean they're all better now. |
Anyone can 'be' a terrorist. The uni-bomber was a terrorist, but he served the religion of environmental extremism. You say couple of years, but please name the major Christian religion that has a significant faction devoted to world domination and forcing all to live under their religious beliefs???

I didn't say you defended anyone, I asked you if you cared to defend the current existence of Islamic extremism, especially when compared to the non existence of a similar or even remotely similar, Christian extremism. I did not ask you to provide examples of Christian terrorism, for the record, this was my initial question to you:
| Quote: Maybe you could point us to the Christians who fly planes into American buildings, are rioting in France, committed terrorists attackes in Bali, Jordan, Spain, and England, (among other places) have declared war on the United States and are responsible for the deaths of thousands of US soldiers? |
Short of a not so direct reference to the IRA (whose goals in no way compare to those if Islamic extremists) you have failed to answer this question.
The facts are clear...There is only one major worldwide religion which is bent on domination and subjecting the world to its rule, and is willing to use terrorism as a means to its end. That religion is the Islamic religion. You can talk about Christians all you like, throw the crusades up all you want, but as we sit today, radical Islam is the scourge of the planet. Nothing else even comes close.

You can believe what you like, I answered honestly. I have never seen a detailed rundown on exactly what they had. Anf if all the weapons were legal, and obtained legally, I have no problem with it. Who are you to say that they should only have target rifles, or sporting arms, if the weapons in question are legal?? However, I do know that the government had ample opportunities to arrest Koresh weeks before the seige began, and chose not too.

If that same situation were handled similarly by Bush, you would be using much harsher words than 'not handled properly' Facist state, I am sure, would be bandied about in abundance.
Were they tied to any terrorist acts?? Were they tied to any terrorist groups? Sure there are nutty Christians...but in todays world the nutty wing of Islam kills or is bent on killing thousands (or millions) of AMericans. You cannot say the same about todays Christians, even the nutty ones. |

yes I dont defend him on the nutty christian thing, the stash of weapons could have been 100% legal under the second amendment though...
but the thing is, he didnt do anything wrong.... he should not have been forced out of his "compound" and he did not shoot at the police...
Nutty yes, wrong no...
now thing about it
CHRISTIAN = NUTTY!!!
they believe in a man in the sky that looks down upon us, and cares if we do good or bad..
Id say that is the proof that ever one of them is a nut. right there...
