Sooooo…Jughead and I are in Jacksonville for the live broadcast later today. We got here at about 11:30pm, and it is pouring rain out. I needed to test our ISDN line tonight so we could make sure it would be ready for 10am, but its raining so fuckin hard I can’t even get out of the car…the test equipment is in the trunk, and the line I need to test is up on a telephone poll. Jughead ran to pull the line off the poll, and I got the gear into the car. So here we are, in my car with a bunch of blinking, flashing boxes all over the dashboard, and a wire running out the passenger door, up a telephone pole. I’m still waiting for some government agency to swoop down and imprison us. While I was trying to connect, some dumb drunk whore put her shoes on my hood, then peeled off her jeans and took a squirt on my tire…Jughead couldn’t get the camera quick enough…sorry pervs. The brilliant phone company guy put the wrong kind of jack on the line, and gave me the wrong numbers to dial. (Thanks buddy) good news is, I got the thing to work, the bad news is I can’t find a place to eat. I would pretty much blow someone for a cheeseburger right now. We finally get to the hotel, and there’s a rave going on in the lobby. To top it all off, we have a room with only one bed in it…hope Jughead doesn’t mind date rape. I’m not sure how I feel about the Gators right now…ask me again at 3pm. |

with another broadcasting spacecraft for XM Satellite Radio from a
floating platform stationed in the equatorial waters of the Pacific Ocean.
But some sort of problem forced the countdown to be halted shortly before
the planned 2349 GMT (7:49 p.m. EDT) launch Thursday.
