| can someone please explain why sirius is charging the full 12.95/month for an internet sub?? they are priced consistant with what xm charges, however, xm only charges 7.99/month for an internet sub..why the discrepancy?? not only that but how do they justify charging the full amount when all ther channels aren't available?? all the music is, but a bunch of the talk isn't, most notably, all the nfl games |

| I know several people that are gladly paying $12.95 per month to listen to the great content at CD sound quality and not have to deal with expensive radios, expensive homedocks, expensive car docks, installations, moving antennas around trying to get rid of "Acquiring Signal", broken radios/antennas, returns, exchanges, customer service waiting time, etc. For people who spend many hours per day in front of the computer, inside buildings and have broadband internet it's much more cost-effective(and easier) than buying a receiver. Well worth the money for them. |

you can get all that shit for $50 bucks and it's great to have even if you only use it in the car.
seems silly to pay for sirius internet radio and still have crap radio in the car... |

They are out of their fucking mind if people are going to pay that crazy ass price for Internet Radio each month.
AOL users can get XM for free so that's really fucked up more. |

I feel the same way. If you are signing up for the internet stream, you might as well grab a cheap radio and have it in the car.
if you live in the city, don't have a car, and don't want to shell out the $$$ for a stiletto, you the net only service is understandable. I just feel that the net onl;y service should be a little cheaper. You aren't getting as much. |

...and I don't understand why this is puzzling to anyone.
The subs have to help defray the cost of what is essentially building a new major media network, talent and content, along with new infrastructure (satellite and Web streaming).
Even at the cheapest bulk rate for bandwidth. producing and maintaining the new 129kbit stream to a growing audience is NOW an additional expense beyond the the standard free 37kbit stream cost that they have already been eating as overhead.
Also, a non-satellite sub has to help offset the cost of maintaining the existing triple-satellite system PLUS, the new geo-stationary satellite launch in 2008, which will probably be in the 9-figure range (!!!).
Just launching any kind of satellite payload into space is at least 100 million.
Add the cost of the actual broadcast content that Sirius gives us. Salaries, etc...
You want Sirius to succeed or not? |

maybe after a while the price will go down
anything new in the beginning is expensive |

| I’m sure they don’t want current listeners who only want to hear Howard by whatever means to switch their full price subs over to a discounted internet sub. That’s why they had to offer something in compensation over the free stream by adding the high bitrate streaming. |
