I'm saying Spice won that fair and square... when the line judge yells false start, the race is over and the racers reset for round 2. Lasker should not have kept running, and race 1 is null and void.
Business in the front, party in the back will be no more...

According to IAAF track rules. You are allowed 1 false start. So Spice false starts the 1st one, Lasker false starts the 2nd one. They are each allowed those. The third race is needed. If either one false starts, they are disqualified

Personally, I don't think it was a false start.
First off, Spice should have completed the race instead of gimping off the line.
Second, Las(th)ker didnt leave the line, he just got a lean on him.
Third, do you really think that "Lean" would have cost Spice the race?

I looked at the film frame by frame, and I am telling you LASKER DID NOT FALSE START!
Look at Laskers foot on the line, that foot stays in place and both his and Spice's other foot hit the ground at almost the same time!
Maby if spice didn't bend down befor he started it would look so bad.
Use media player classic, and you can frame by frame it, on top of that, after Spice took one step and
he started yelling false start. |

| This segment of radio was suprisingly really good. I kind of thought it was attempt to be cheesy and lame to piss corporate off. However, Lasker is such a redneck, that he can turn a simple competition into a huge fucking deal. Funny stuff and nothing dirty or perverse about it. How about a Bubba Combine? Not a combine that has a John Deere label and picks corn and beans, but like the NFL where the do bench reps, 40 yard dash, vertical jump, shuttle run, and the test Vince Young fucked up? God damnit I can't remember what it is called! Bubba can add some events to Spice it up too. This would be a great event after the Vagina 500 when the NFL combines are going on. |

personally in my opinion I don't think the rules were laid out 100%. There are too many holes for both parties to get out on regarding a technicality. From the video I don't see Lasker jumping over or false start. I do see his foot on the line but I don't think that's going to cause any issues. Spice definitely would have won the race no matter what at least on the second one who knows what would've happened on the first race because he gave up.
I think rule should have been laid out very strictly although who knew it was going to be taken to this level. I think the only true thing to do is have a third race winner take all. This is the only way everyone will be satisfied with the outcome even though no matter what happens there is always going to be controversy over this.
In my opinion Lasker won the first race and Spice quit too early without an official ruling but that is only my opinion |

Spice's foot and head ARE over the line. They start at the same time. The difference is Spice.
The key is this... watching the back leg of Spice frame by frame. Spice is rocking back and forth. At the start he is shifting back and has to change momentum hard. When Lasker jerks forward, the same frame Spice's back leg goes full. They both start at the same time. |

I've played the video back in slow motion, with audio..(i've also got a recording of this if anyone wants to watch it). Both Lasker and Spice jump before "go." I was totally on Laskers side watching it in real time, I thought Spice was making excuses, turns out he was right. There is no way he could see the false start while they were actually racing though. It is very minimal, but yes they both false started. If you want me to post the video somewhere I can do that.
