This week is the Super Fan Roundtable's 1 Year Anniversary. It's also the night of Artie's Carnegie Hall show. My guests will be everyone from the first show, John Hein, Ralph, Gay Tony, & Bobo. Due to their early involvement with the show we'll also be talking with Gary Del'Abatte & King of all Blacks. I'll be doing things a little different this week. It will be a group discussion about the evolution of the roundtable & the channels.
Several of us are hitting Artie's show afterwards
What would be some good topics? What should I ask my guests? What are some of your show highlights?
Here's what I've got so far
- Planning: Discussion about the original planning of the show, how Jon was picked as the host, & how those early guests were picked
- Evolution: Discussion about how the show has grown & changed
- History: Discussion about how we were one of the original shows, why the show works, and why it's still going strong.
- New Host: Discussion about Jon's promotion, how I took over hosting the show, & how I picked to host. Comparing & contrasting our hosting styles.
- Drinking: Discussion about drinking on the early shows, if it helped or hurt, & why we're no longer allowed
- Specials: Some of the special shows, like when we were live from the film festival.
- Highlights: Discussion about everyone's show highlights with clips.
- Future: Where we'd like to see the show go from here? What should be changed?
- Predictions: we made Stern Show predictions during that first show. I'm going to find out what they were and see who was right. We'll make new predictions for the upcoming year.

Less pornstar/Sybian segments. I realize they need to do them for Howard TV, but cut it back a little. Also, what happened to such bits as Win Fred's Money, homeless jeopardy, etc. |

the show we will be talking about this night is the Super Fan Roundtable!! it's our anniversary!! that's why I said it's a different show. we'll be discussing us instead of the Stern Show. perhaps you should drink your coffee |

* I would ask Joh Hein and Gary what are the plans for the Friday show?? Will it return every Friday or on an alternate schedule with MasterTape Theater.
* Any future plans to extend the SFRT an HOur??? Just when it gets going.......it's OVER!!! Or an hour on Thursday...an Hour on Friday night??
* Possibley move the Red Peters show?? It is never discussed or promo'd...is it still on and does it have a fan base????
*I would ask Gary when is there going to be a definite schedule for 101?? Seems like it is ever changing every week???
* Will Ralph get his own show?? Maybe an hour Q&A show..hopefully some of the super critical Ralph haters will be able to talk directly to him and appreciate his input..as Howard has for over 20yrs!!!
* I miss WIn Freds Money ...Stump the Booey....It's just wrong...all the bits from K-Rock...will they return?
*Forget the Stern Effect???? What about the ARTIE EFFECT?? I really felt bad for Dice...and is it the end for Artie opening for Dice??? As a relatively new listener (about 45 days now) with almost no history of listening to the show in the past or watching it on TV, overall I like the program as it is. Seems like they get a good cross section of guests, the chemistry between the regulars and most of the extras/VIPs is entertaining.
* From a technical perspective it would be cool to see howardstern.com provide an RSS (XML) feed for the daily show updates.
* The schedule for Howard 101 could also be put in RSS and/or iCal format. |

A great evolution for SFRT is to extend the program for an hour.

Tim Sabean should call in ....Bubba ...Ferrel....Riley...Jackie...all the 101channel hosts...that would take up the first hour....... |

the SFNers that are booked are never definite. things often change at the last minute. they are booked for a chance to be on. thats it. in the past, I'd have a someone back out and I have to go with someone I know. then feel bad that I didn't have someone new who really wants on. now that's not an issue. I always have someone who can come in. If I have room, I have potential new guests. If you look at the schedule there's a new girl & a new guy booked for several weeks but you know that we only have 1 new person at a time. it's a good chance one of those two will get bumped. reguardless, we'll have more new people on then ever before. I'll be sure not to book you since it's a problem |

I was excited that you guys were letting 2 new people on at once. I didn't realize it was for "a chance" and that you were still letting only one new person per show. Why not book one new guy and have another marked as a standby?
Hearing the same people discuss the show weekly when you have others willing to come in- doesn't make sense to me. Having Mutt, Joey Boots and one Regular would surely be enough to cover in case there are 2 dud guests. |

| I think with the people on for the week of 11-9 its a great opportunity to discuss The Friday Show/Mastertape theatre. I think Mastertape theatre from 6-10(or whenever) followed by a few hours of the Friday should would be best. Not only do Gary, John and Ralph get to sleep a little later but then everybody gets both Mastertape and The Friday show. I just think Ralph, John and Gary can ofter alot by doing the Fri show after mastertape |

Did they (ralph, gary, etc) think the show would last? Were they afraid of how the fans would act and what they'd say?
Tell the story of how Mutt's name came up as a host- how was mutt approached?
The superfan anthem - where'd it come from? If it was discussed already, I missed it.
Finally, Be sure to thank Howard and Tim etc for giving the fans a voice. :tu: |

when we have a new person on, there a chance that they'll suck. 2 new people means we may have 2 less than stellar guests.
the guest seats are like this
- 2 regulars like boots / king / zolar / Lori / Christine
- 1 returning guest who's done a good job in the past
- 1 brand new person
sometimes, we're short a regular and I can have 2 returning guests.
sometimes, if I've met them and have a real good feeling about them, I may have a new guy & a new girl but this is very very rare. |

Mutt we might discuss how the show's concept has evolved, 1 year ago Hein kept a tight leash and a civil tone, things are certainly different now.
the chain of ownership: at one point i understand Boots n Shuli were doing "the fan-focused show" and when you and I met 1 year ago there was that in-fishbowl discussion about Ralph's version of it not happening n Hein having control, and how Ralph was all resentful. i seem to recall Hein sat nearby during your first couple of hosting gigs and Jason is always attentive, how much input/control do you have now compared to then?
does the Show take SFRT less seriously now? i don't hear Howard talk about it as much.
re: "SFRT=SFN", i personally got on SFN *after* i'd been on SFRT. During the "fansite sitdown" bit Howard did, you had mentioned that the show was still open to other fansites (just not psychos, regardless of what site they belong to). is there actually a mechanism for superfans who are neither VIPs nor members of SFN to get on SFRT? |

I understand now. (I was under the impression that Satan and dharma were both guaranteed to be on last week but SD was bumped because Lori could make it in. That didn't seem right to me.)
As long as everyone understands that it is only a chance - sounds good. |

- We'll be talking about the original planning for the show & what it's grown into.
- Something about how we were one of the original shows, why the show works, and why it's still going strong.
- Jon's promotion and how I took over hosting the show. Comparing & contrasting our hosting styles.
- Drinking on the early shows
- Some of the special shows, like when we were live from the film festival.
- Everyone describing their show highlights & we'll be playing some clips. Mine will be when Howard called in aggravated during the dancing with the stars discussion.
- Where we'd like to see the show go from here? What should be changed? |

| Thank you so much for asking Rutro, I really appreciate it....really...I feel alot better. I was freaking our a little bit because like a lot of people suggested I was too low. I shouldn't have ate more in the beginning of the month so by the end I was too depleted. No more of that. One a day One a day. ANd hopefully, eventually none a day. My children right now are the most important thing in the world to me and I have to be strong for them. They are the light of my life...bad times....they keep me going, that and Howard :cool: |

An idea...how about a roundtable w/ fans who have never been on the show, who have followed the show for years, and who do not live in the greater NY area. I am one of these fans, been following Howard all over the dial here in Chicago, and there are many more like me.
We're the fans who love the show and have somthing to add.
I have the ability to fly in and put myself up, just think it would be great to give the superfans without an "in" a chance to be heard.

this sort of thing has happened several times. you would not be the first person to fly in just to do the show and we've had lots of out of towners. next week we're taking the show to LA. it has nothing to do with having an in. It has to do with participating in the roundtable threads some we can get an idea of who you are and how much you listen. this might be the first time I've ever seen you and your post sort of comes off as insulting. |

That's a very good point. Although, I have no problem with making the special show even more special. :) I think a lot of that will probably be covered with the all-star SFRT regular lineup for the Year in Review.

| The SFRT is great I love all the people that they have on but I ahve to say that Lori makes that show having a woman there to throw in her two cents makes it so much better than just a bunch of dudes I mean she is to the SFRT what Robin is to the stern show. Plus she is the most beautiful woman on earth so that helps a little as well! |
