I don't know about you guys but I'm LMAO at all the sniveling on right wing radio.
Limbaugh, Hannity, Reagan, you name 'em, they're whining like a bunch of little pussies.

When have you ever heard of a Dem on the radio? Except for NPR? |

| When I didn't have a CD player or Sirius in my car I listened to those guys all the time. Glenn Beck, OReilly, Limbaugh, Savage. I did not agree with a word they were saying, but it was still fun to listen. I loved Debbie Schlussel's shows she did on 101. |

I'm sure we would hear Dems on the radio if they can get an audience. |

I think it's true that the Dems didn't win so much as the Republicans lost. First off, if the republicans heads weren't so shoved up their asses they would have handed Rummy his pink slip a day or two before the election, the slaughter may not have been so bad for them. Practically any action by bush & co. outside their norm of "staying the course" might have generated some enthusiasm. If they had listened to what the public felt outside their own pundits (Fox and their ilk) they would have know that a lot of the country isn't as worried about terrorism as they are about the war in general.
It's not that the Democrats will do a bad job, it's just funny that they won given that their's no real plan aside from talking points. That's a measure of how pissed off the people are. I don't think any amount of voter fraud was going to contain that. The dems will have a hard time of it given that generally they need about 60 seats in order to make sweeping changes. Being right on the line will be tricky especially with that asshole Lieberman. |

You don't hear them on the radio cause the people that would listen don't need to have their political ideas given to them on a daily basis by some moron doing schitck. |

Not so good point.
They are not on the radio because stations can't make money with left wing radio. The message of the left is too depressing....America is terrible, the economy is terrible, the Republicans are killing the children , stealing SS money....there is NOTHING positve about the message coming from the left. |

This whinning factor can all be traced back to George H Bush when he lost to Ronnie Reagan in the primaries in 1980. "I'm not a wimp" was his mantra for losing and he built a whole Presidency on personality instead of competence. Unfortunately he had served in Govt long enough to have a clue, not like his son who was underexperienced for the job! |

Need to excercise that hand that changes the radio dial.
Just because Air America failed (and who wants to hear comedians spill politics anyway?) does not mean that the left hasn't found a spot in talk radio. Just because you haven't heard it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. |

Yea I did too. They are entertaining, especially Savage. That dude is so far from rational it's scary.
The only one who I thought made some good points was Neil Boortz. |

NCMORON06 is like that guy in the TV series SOAP. I think his name was Bert and he was played by Richard Mulligan.
NCMORON06 snaps his fingers and all he doesn't like is invisible to him and his limited intellect! |

I have, and have never heard any of them say that America is terrible. (To answer mike)I've never heard anything positive from right wing radio either. I was listening today to a guy who says that illegal immigration from Mexico is actually an attempt at reclaiming California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas back for Mexico. This same guy likes to remind us frequently that we don't have a right to vote in federal elections. Before the election, most of them were right there with the President, "vote Republican, or it will be bad for your kids, you will be killed by terrorists, and you will be broke when you die because your taxes will go up 1000 percent". |

Don't win the argument so jump to a new media?
Google it and read for yourself so I don't have to.

I can't say this enough. Just because you haven't heard it does not make it so.
Ed Schultz is a predominate "Lefty" on the air and he criticizes Air America for their poor attempts at radio.
Good news is hard to find on any media. When things are going good people don't complain and it doesn't' get heard.
That makes it difficult to understand why Right Radio has made it for past few years.
Even the Right Shows have to criticize the President once and awhile...
How about this: Let's invite major right talk show hosts to the white house for a little one on one with the president to make sure they are selling the message?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dy...6102401223.html
| Quote: It sounded like the kind of friendly interview that administration officials expected when they invited 42 mostly conservative radio hosts to broadcast yesterday from beneath a long, heated white tent on the president's doorstep. |
| Quote: WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 — On an overcast Friday morning last month, White House aides ushered an influential group of conservative radio hosts into the Oval Office for a private audience with the president. |

what i hate is people thinking these shows are news and information shows and not entertainment (which is what they hide behind when controversy hits them)
whats wrong with every talk show running a disclaimer like this
THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS EXPRESSED ON THE X SHOW ARE OF THE SHOW HOST AND THEIR GUESTS AND ARE NOT NECESSARILY THE VIEWS OF THIS STATION.
or this?
THIS SHOW IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY
what is so wrong in doing that? |

What you just said in itself is a talking point.
It's funny that people buy it too, especially since the Republicans have such a great plan... "stay the course" ... and do what? "Spread Freedom" ... sounds super awesome brah but it's just flowery language, there's no "plan" there. (unless you count raping the tax payers and dumping all their money into defense companies who hand it back to republican senators)
Joe Biden, a Democrat was the first to talk about splitting Iraq into 3 different provinces one for Shiites, one for Sunnis, and one for Kurds... helping them set up governments, patrolling for a while, and bringing our boys home. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
That's the best "plan" I've heard to date... and it came from a Democrat. |

It's been great listening to right wing radio the past 2 days. You have to hand it to them...they can spin like no others.
According to the Hannity/Limbaugh/Ingraham group, the loss was a good thing because the Republicans have lost the "Reagan Conservatism" that gained them so many seats in '94. Now they can refocus and get the party back on track. But that isn't why they lost. Nope, they didn't "lose" to the Democrats, or because of Iraq or the performance of Congress. They lost because of the late scandals (Foley and Haggard in particular). It wasn't a referendum on Iraq (contrary to the consistancy in exit polling), it was that the American people lost their trust in the majority. But this is good, because the Democrats will be completely exposed for the next two years and then a Republican tsunami will overtake everything in 2008. Yes, this was the best thing to happen to the Republicans.....or so say the pundits.
What is really frightening is that I think they believe the utter nonsense they ramble on and on about. They are truly incapable of independent thought.
Ingraham is the worst of the bunch...she is just mean-spirited and bitter. Worse than Limbaugh.
The most depressing thing out of all of this is the lack of optimism for the government coming from both sides. All you hear is what is benefiting one party or the other. What ever happened to governing for the people as the elected offical? This country deperately needs more Independent candidates. Enough with the partisan party bullshit. |
|
|
| Billyfromsphily |
| Independent party candidiates will only allow one side or another to become stronger. Their ideas are adopted by the 2 majority parties. Have you ever seen the Italian goverment? The coalition rule there is a mess. |

Quote: The summer camp featured in the documentary "Jesus Camp," which includes scenes with disgraced preacher Ted Haggard, will shut down for at least several years because of negative reaction sparked by the film, according to the camp's director.
"Right now we're just not a safe ministry," Becky Fischer, the fiery Pentecostal pastor featured in "Jesus Camp," said Tuesday.
[..]Led by Fischer, the children pray in tongues, as is common in charismatic strains of Pentecostalism; tearfully beg God to end abortion; and bless President Bush at a weeklong camp in Devils Lake, N.D.
Fischer has drawn fire from some corners for "brainwashing" the children. After vandals damaged the campground last month and critics besieged Fischer with negative e-mails, phone calls and letters, the pastor said she's shutting down the camp for at least several years. |
i liked this story too, isn't it just amazing how bush isn't even out of his throne a week, how fast the cock roachs are running back into the cracks |

Talk radio is a form of mediem that is different than the normal. With the exception of fox news the whole media is primarely middle to left wing. You wouldnt tune in too crackly sticky radio on the am dial to here the same shit you can here on regular tv and newspapers. Not to mention the right wing talk show hardcore republicans are generally more educated in there beliefs and are willing to go out odf there way to here and express there agenda. The common hippie type person likey to vote democrat would be listing to there local alternative channel. Your common person from the hip hop genre that is chanted no blood for oil, is listening to the local hits channel or the enemen channel on sirius. The common union guy working in car plants and such is listening to Your classic rock channel. Right wing talk radio will always be there and Left wing radio will fail everytime unless it is mixed into an entertainment show like howards or bubba , however I dont think a left wing agenda show strickly about politics will ever work.
I would love to openly and fairly debate bubba or howard or brent any day on why there politics are wrong . I am the biggest stern channel fan but find there political views laughable and they would all of been the first to attack President Bush. If he would of done nothing about saddam having wmds . And they were used on us years later. I can here it now! |
