Hey Now MoFo
The biggest rivalry?
Packers - Bears
Redskins - Cowboys
Broncos - Raiders
Jets - Dolphins
I am not sure Browns and Steelers are the biggest or best but it would be interesting to find out who thought which one was the best.

i will say the packers vs bears is the biggest rivarly. plus not a fan of either team but i think the steelers take it. their defense will kill the browns o-line. damn how many years back in cleveland and they can't get line to block for the qb's and backs. until they do that they will always be sub par.

Our biggest rivalry is with the real Browns who happen to play in Baltimore. Most expansion teams take a while to develope a good rivalry. Don't worry, you'll get there one of these days. :moon:

What's Clevelands record over the past 3 years? How many playoff appearances have the Browns made since they came back? You can't compare the Browns and the Steelers, you'll give yourself a headache.

My point is that from top to bottom the Steelers are a better team. The Steeler Browns "rivalry" is no longer an issue in Pittsburgh. I understand that being a Browns fan, you need something to cling to. If I lived in Cleveland, I would need to manufacture some type of fantasy to make my life worth living too.

Again....your insight is beautiful. I don't even REMEMBER when the Browns-Steelers was even a rivalry anymore. Honestly, since Cincy has been consistently the better team in the AFC North and still within the Ohio vicinity.....I would give that rivalry more credence. This is why I have nedmark on ignore, he really is dumb. Sad really........he needs this, he clings to this, he is 12 years old.

arizonasternfan
I know this might shock some, but nedmark is a little off. The D is sick this year? Who are you talking about? The Browns and their #19th in yds allowed? How abou the Browns' D that is #30 vs the run? Or is it the Brown's D that is #17 in pts allowed? Oh yeah they are sick alright. Stick to ND at least you have an argument for another 2 weeks.

good article from pittsburgh

Don't think the Brownies are cupcakes

PITTSBURGH - To all optimists thinking the Steelers will make the playoffs by running the table, here's a warning: Beware the Browns.
Sunday's game in Cleveland won't be the cakewalk it was last season when the Steelers rolled, 41-0.

In case you haven't noticed, the Steelers and Browns have the same 3-6 record.

The Steelers like to think they have one of the best 3-6 teams ever. But the fact is that they're a defending Super Bowl champ who's tied for last in the AFC North with what has been one of the NFL's most hapless teams in recent years.

The Steelers have beaten the Browns five straight. But as the hype for the 109th renewal of the "Turnpike Rivalry" begins, keep in mind that the Browns have done something this year that the Steelers haven't: win on the road. The Steelers are 0-4 away from home. The Browns are 2-3.

Both the Browns' road wins came over teams the Steelers lost to on the road: Oakland and Atlanta.

So the Browns are feeling every bit as good about their win 17-13 win Sunday over the Falcons as the Steelers are about their 38-31 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Just as Pittsburgh clings to slim playoff hopes, so does Cleveland.

Beyond that, the Browns are still seething about that Christmas Eve massacre in which they were stuffed by the Steelers. In that game, the Steelers out-gained the Browns, 457-178 and sacked rookie quarterback Charlie Frye eight times.

In fact, during the off-season when coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Phil Savage made a public appearance in Cleveland, they cited that 41-0 debacle as a source of motivation for this year.

"It's just not about showing up and competing. We did that last year," Savage said of the Browns' 6-10 season in year one of the Crennel regime. "We can finally think about winning. Let's do some damage to Pittsburgh."

After Sunday's win in Atlanta, Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards vowed to seek revenge against the Steelers.

On Monday at his weekly press conference, Crennel said, "They embarrassed us the last time we played them, and our players remember that."

Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward, who caught 15 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns in wins over the Browns last year, refused to fire back at the Browns.

"I can't comment on that," he said Monday when asked about Edwards' comments. "What happened last year was last year. It's Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland. We hate each other. But I won't get into a war of words. We'll do our talking on the field."

hey donny....your out of your element....... u go out and discuss the cardinals with someone else....and stick to arguing arizona st. football, oh wait do they still play football at that college???

have u seen the schedule we have played??? did u see what the D did to Mike Vick?? u leave this thread 2 people who actually watch football...u keep lookin up stats with the other fuckin geeks
arizonasternfan
I know the facts get in the way of your pipe dream, but they are what they are. The Browns D is average at best. Wow you held Vick under 200 yds passing? That's only happened 6 other times. I guess you did get 2 INTs, of course he did that the week before too. Now, go get your Rudy dvd in and pleasure yourself, while the rest of the people here deal with reality

That article was entertaining reading. It's funny how your boy Edwards is talking all the smack and he didn't even play last year...
nedmark61
first off the offense is starting to come together for the first time in years.....we actually have weapons that need attention paid to them.... the defense despite the injuries are playing better then they have in a long time, with the emergence of 4 first year starters who are stepping up.... d"qwell, wimbley, sean jones and brodney poole....plus u fuckers got one a comin from last years debaucle on christmas eve(which i was at by the way, and will be this sunday)..... plus rothlesburger is not 100% no matter what anyone says and the long haired fag saftey from USC is not gonna play......with out that saftey they are gonna struggle covering winslow and edwards.... look for jurevicous to have a big game as well.....

Aside from the name calling, you raise some decent points. What you need to keep in mind is the Steeler running game is looking strong as hell which means our o-line is getting the job done. Clevelands offense is going to have a tough time scoring if they're on the sidelines. Fast Willie and Davenport are going to grind the clock. Ben doesn't need to be 100% to run a ball control game. I'm leaving work now, but I'll jump back on tomorrow. By then maybe another Cleveland fan will have enough stones to help ya out. Later....

I have to disagree with you. From tackle to tackle our o-line is very strong. Like I said in an earlier post, if the Steelers run a ball control offense with quick passes and off tackle runs, it will negate any physical difference your front 7 might have.

fat chance of that. yes i watched the clowns and they are pathetic. year in and year out they suck. when the hell are they going to to get a line to block for the qb's and backs? they have been back since 99 and they still have no line. that's why they are the clowns. they have potential, but until they do sub par at best. 6 game winning seasons. the d isn't half bad, but no offense.

Fair enough. Here are my thoughts on the game. The Browns could have easily won. Before yesterday, I hadn't seen them play. Their defense is decent and Kamerion Wembly is a force. Big Ben was getting his ass handed to him most of the day. When it came down to the 4th qtr the Steelers put it all together on both offense and defense. The bottom line is good teams find a way to win. It seems Cleveland is on the same track as Cincy a few years ago. I'm looking forward to the game in Pittsburgh, it should be a good one.
Garvej
Yep, you'll have time to think up somehting good. Don't go the ref route, like the Seattle cunts.

FWIW, the Browns are on the right track, and I hope they beat the Bungles this weekend.
