Really, if they dont impeach by 08 Im voting I or L. The voters are already bugging the crap out of pelosi, and there are investigations that are ongoing that point torward illegal activities that will only feed those flames. IF pelose NEVER GIVES IN and there is no impeachment, then 2008 could really be a voter led revolution.

u have to try to think outside of the box dude. u are a smart guy, but sometimes your obsessive hate of bush doesnt allow u to think clear.
i could type a book on this, but ill try one quick point. we won tuesday cause we got most I voters and some R voters. im sure u know that and agree. if we impeach, those voters will be the ones to revolt, against us. |

| Fate, you know as well as anyone that there is little difference between the Dems and the Reps. There will be no impeachment. The Dems are complicit in a good deal of impeachable crimes. |
|
|
| Hater |
Fates,
I disagree with your assessment...i think trying to impeach bush will be disaster for Dems in 08...
the key to winning in 08 is to get some real tangible shit done...raise the minimum wage and do something, anything in Iraq...they need to show people that they can handle business and they didn't just win b/c HATE BUSH was popular at the time...
to get bogged down in impeachment hearings will only serve to send those swing voters that helped us dominate the election running back to the other side...
Bush will be judged harshly by history...I say F him...we need to get shit done in order to win the election in 08... |

What impeachable crimes are the dems complicit in? |

Don't worry, Fates.
He still has two years - plenty of time.
I have no doubt whatsoever that he will leave office in shame, it's just a matter of why and when.

Well, for starters any Dem who voted to give Bush the authorization to invade Iraq at the very least deserve impeachment.
He's retired now, but what was Sen. Bob Graham of Florida doing on 9/11? If you research that little nugget you might learn a lot about that strange and complex day. |
|
|
| Hater |
I don't know shit about Bob Graham, but I'll look into it..
However, how is voting for Iraq an impeachable offense? One of the main reasons that Bush could be impeached is that he misled Congress...so how would that make them complicit? I don't follow... |

You don't think they had access to the necessary information?
Where is the evidence that Iraq had something to do with 9/11 or had WMDs? If they didn't have the info they shouldn't have voted for invasion. |

Well like I said, first off, dont you think that hillary is ANY DIFFERENT, lets talk a little about the mena operations, in Arkansas, where the clintons were involved with drug traffiking. Why is it that these people not only are not in jail, they get to run for president? and furthermore, the fact is there is one party not two. They play us against each other to make us happy, and to make us think that there is a difference in the 2 parties, but now we are seeing the democrats true colors. The fact is, that crimes against humanity, murder, war crimes, and the breaking of the oath of office have all been committed by this administration. If the democrats dont bring chages up on the administration by 2008 then we see that tells us a couple of things about our democrats.
1) they are not concerned with ethics, or cleaning up washington DC
2) they are saying these crimes are A-OK and to continue to commit them
3) they either have something being held over thier own heads, a bribe if you will, or they are really just the same party with a donkey on thier shirt instead of a elephant.
Right now there are letter writing campaigns where pelosi has recieved 10s of thousands of letters from citizens, if she is going to turn her back on the voters, then a good amount of the voters will turn thier backs on her and the Ds.
Really, I am registered as a L because I think that the problem is the fake 2 party system. however I have been voting more for democrats than even libertarians. however the next 2 years will determine if this trend continues for me. The fact is taking out rumsfeld and putting in bolton does not impress me. Bolton already has been involved with crime in the past. I want THE CRIMINALS OUT OF DC!!!!!
That is my main concern, taking washington BACK from the criminals, and if the democrats dont make it thier concern, they lost me/us... (us being the other people like me)

Fates,
I agree with you...Bush is a crook as is his whole admin...no doubt...
where I disagree is that the best strategy is to go after these crooks...I think you get to the bottom of abramoff and other congressional scandals...take out the reps and senators...to go after bush is too drastic and time consuming, especially during war (counter argument from the kool aid cons - the dems don't care about america, they care more about punishing our savior bush than winning the war, we knew it!)...clean up congress...forget bush...focus on iraq...congress...social reform (i.e. higher minimum wage, clean up healthcare, structure taxes to help the middle class instead of bloating the rich, etc. any of the above...
I want the criminals out too, but I also want to win the presidency in '08...strategically impeachment is not a successful strategy and you know it...you've spent enough time arguing with insane, deranged conservative evangelical maniacs to know what would happen if Bush got impeached...it would be bad for the dems...
i would rather see them take care of delay, frist, abramoff, hastert, etc., get smart on iraq (i.e. let the iraqis figure it out...we did our job...we can't tell people that have hated each other for thousands of years how to behave - the ball's in their court), send more troops to afghanistan, capture osama, raise minimum wage, and fix the tax breaks for the ultra rich...if these things happen, we win the presidency in '08, we hold it for at least 8 years...high stakes... |

Right after I wrote this last post I went to crooksandliars.com and found this...haha...interesting timing.,..
Former Clinton Cabinet member Robert Reich weighs in on what he thinks should be the priorities for the incoming Democratic majority.
"Some Democrats want to expose the malfeasance and nonfeasance of the Bush Administration — find out who really knew what and when with regard to weapons of mass destruction, Abu Graahb, Katrina, payoffs to Abramoff, and all the other rot. That's understandable, but it would be far better if Democrats used their new-found power to lay out a new agenda for America.
There's no point digging up more dirt. Bush isn't running again. John McCain, the Republican's most likely choice to replace him, has distanced himself so far from the administration that no amount of dirt will soil him. Besides, the public and the media are already suffering from outrage fatigue. And the Democrats wouldn't be credible, anyway. It will be easy for Republicans to dismiss their efforts as more of the same old partisan bickering. The fact is, the public is sick of mud-slinging.
Instead of dwelling on what's gone wrong, Democrats should focus on what to do right "

when we say impeach bush we mean cheney too.
Mccain hasnt distanced himself, he pretended to be against torture, and then caved in... he is stealing land from native americans in the 2000s he is no good either. |
|
|
| clonetrooper |
| You cannot impeach both at the same time. Even if you tried Bush would pardon Cheney for any crimes and then Congress could not go after him. Cheney get Mccain or Rudy for Vice steps down because he doesn't wnt to be President. They run and we get 10 years with the same Pres. I sure hope it is Rudy. |

IHATECABBIE, we are the 10s of thousands calling for impeachment.
Ten Reasons to Impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney
I support the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney
for the following reasons:
1. Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of
Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to
Congress and the public, and misusing government funds to begin bombing
without Congressional authorization.
2. Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of
thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping
prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
3. Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal
residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and
without access to counsel.
4. Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians,
journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons,
including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.
5. Violating U.S. law and the Constitution through widespread
wiretapping of the phone calls and emails of Americans without a
warrant.
6. Violating the Constitution by using "signing statements" to defy
hundreds of laws passed by Congress.
7. Violating U.S. and state law by obstructing honest elections in
2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
8. Violating U.S. law by using paid propaganda and disinformation,
selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and
exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive
WMD proliferation for political retribution.
9. Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by
asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the
President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review
and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing
legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.
10. Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after
Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack
prior to Sept. 11, 2001, and in increasing air pollution causing global
warming.
and this one for cheney:
Not severing ties with halliburton as found in the investigation done by the congressional research services, which is a violation of law. |

u listed 10 good reasons to impeach.
but heres 1 good reason not to. cause it will help reps gain the congress and pres in 08 and for years to come. |
|
|
| FatesWebb |
| I dont get this theory of it will help the republicans gain congress? why would it help them? what so we should wait till before the election to impeach so it is fresh and harms the Rs? |
|
|
| Hater |
fates come on...you have to see why impeachment is bad...
people are tired of this negative bullshit...dems need to accomplish real tangible goals, not look like vindictive, power hungry, divisive assholes, which is how they will be spun...
again, the presidency in '08 is the main goal...impeaching bush is secondary.. |
|
|
| FatesWebb |
| I disagree, I think a lot of people (I being one) will quit voting for democrats, if they dont keep thier promises. I think to not impeach will lose the election, hence the topic of this thread. I know that there are others that agree. because I have discussed it with them. |
|
|
| Hater |
since when was impeachment a promise they made?
Clean up the Congress was their promise, raise minimum wage was their promise, get out of iraq was their promise, where's impeachment?
How do you not see that by attacking Bush you merely re-juvinate an ailing republican party...
meanwhile, if you raise the minimum wage, get some troops home, catch osama, crush the taliban, increase port security, pass the bill to identify where pork goes, help the middle class...
then we will win in '08...they want us to go after Bush...it's falling into the trap of being depicted as nothing more than idiotic Bush hating communist liberals...
again, I would love to see Bush impeached, but I think strategically it would be a disaster...i suppose we'll have to agree to disagree, however, I can almost guarantee that there will be no impeachment...not a chance in hell... |
|
|
| Hater |
| but I don't wan't impeachment...i want progress for our country...i'm more concerned with getting our troops home, helping the middle class, and catching osama than impeaching bush... |

what promises? none of the congress people i vote for made any such promise.
u know others agree? dont be silly with that logic as your reason,

|
|
| Hater |
i agree wholeheartedly, but I just think at this moment in time it would be best to clean up the corruption in Congress...bush is too polarizing...people will fight and die for him...you've seen fox news...you've seen newsbusters...
so the compromise in order to win in 08 has to be to clean up republican corruption...full spead ahead S.S. Abramoff, convict Libby, smash DeLay, imprison Frist, etc...but let W alone, for now...
IF the dems can kick ass this upcoming year, than perhaps 07 could be ok for impeachment, but accomplishments need to happen first... |
