| It's good to see that the existing studs look pretty sound. I might get a concearned about that "Mold" looking stuff that is on the left side of the front door and on the right side of the window. Is that an outlet that shorted out above the stove? The romex looks in real good shape, no signs of rats feeding on it. Good luck with it Knot. We did a "Extreme Makeover" in our kitchen 2 years ago. It was a pain, but well worth it in the end. :bigup: |

This is the layout for the ceiling trim... I don't usually draw out my ideas... but I figured since I'm sharing I may as well show some of the thought process...
The outside diamond is going to be made of 1x3 with both edges routed... the circles are going to be the lights... the inside outer diamond will be 1" half round trim... and the inside inner diamond will be 1/2" half round trim...
The reason I didn't tape the corners in the ceiling is because I'm going to put up crown molding... that and I hate fucking taping... ;) |

To say it was a royal fucking mess wouldn't even begin to explain it... once I have the kitchen done and the rest of the house reorganized I'll put up some pics of the rest of the house...
When I bought it I checked out the electric in a couple rooms by pulling out the outlets and saw there was romex in the boxes so I figured it was rewired... it wasn't... they put romex stubs on the knob and tube and pushed the romex into the wall...
The vent stacks in the entire house were cut and plugged... so the drainage was horrible... in addition the shit pipe was going uphill two inches in six feet... so that made for a lot of plunging...
I now have a 36" stand up shower... and a 72" jacuzzi tub in my bathroom... and vent stacks that go all the way out to the roof... |
