Weapon money is the most ill-gotten money US can possibly get. It is the root cause of most of the problems US faces today. It is our weapons lobby that prompts US to form such a world policy that foments trouble and unrest among nations. This in turn has tarnished the image of US beyond repair. This has made America a subject of untold hatred bcoz it ain't very difficult to guess that US wants different nations to keep fighting with one another so that its big and small weapons keep selling.
World peace is deliberately kept at bay bcoz world peace means less or no arms sale which is unacceptable to pedlars of arms. Hence pedlars of war are pedlars of unrest also for obvious reason. It hurts a bit only when we find ourselves in the middle of unrest. Otherwise, everything in the world for us is hunky-dory!
The price US pays for weapon money is colossal! Worldwide loss of face, notoriety as a war-monger, a pedlar of death, destruction and violence!
As such it all comes back to you! US soldiers get killed with the same weapons given FOC to warring groups to serve short-term gains or sold to the world earlier. History tells it is only matter of time before these guns are turned towards the supplier i.e. US!
Is it worth it? CERTAINLY NOT.

We must do what we can to make this world a better place for us and our future generations!
If things are allowed to happen the way are happening, it is certainly not going to augur well for us/US.
We must change our image worldwide and do all we can do to promote peace. By that I do not subscribe to a Gandhian formula rather a clear cut conviction to nothing wrong and bear nothing wrong! No more shitty smartass games that might have paid short-term dividends in the past and are now proving to be so dangerous and detrimental ! |

The last time this thought process went into effect we used a "peace dividend" to dismantle our on the ground intel.
That led to 911.
Before that after a brutal World War 1 we disarmed and what did that lead to?
Pearl Harbor.
For a year afterwards it actually looked like we would lose because our equipment was so out of date.
We lost 70,000 soldiers in the Philipines in one day!
We need arms manufacturers, arms, and never should we abandon ever again, on the ground Intel.
Every time we listen to those that tell us to turn our arms into plows, we are crushed. |

Um, maybe I'm mistaken (and readers know this seldom happens), but there was the 1993 attack on the WTC, the attack on our embassies, over 120,000 people trained to attack us in Afghanistan for years without anything being done to them, the USS Cole, etc.
Bush wasn't in when those things happened.

It amazes me this is allowed to go on. Countries selling other countries arms should be outlawed. If you want to waste your own money on building weapons then go ahead. There is no reason to sell your shit to anybody else.

mike I never suggested that we should not remain prepared for self-defence. We can manufacture the best possible for our self defence.
I just recounted the risk of selling them in the open market and providing them to people who will surely use them against us one day. No nation can afford to earn such dollars and earn defame in fomenting trouble across the globe so that the consumption remains high! |
