Here in Chicago voting booths are often set up in nursing homes and places that house the mentally ill.
All of them vote. Amazing, isn't it? Even those in wheelchairs who can't read or speak, can vote the straight party ticket.
And EVERYONE in Chicago knows this. |

Notice they have no comment on obvious on-going voter fraud.
The Republicans lose on principle all the time. After Goldwater they did serious writing and soul searching, eventually the free marketers in the party got Reagan in.
Democrats check the polls, modify their beliefs to fit them, and can't stand losing.
If they lose the next Presidential election after this, it may just be too late for them to find what they really believe.
Getting to the money and jobs is why Dems have to win. They sold out their beliefs when Clinton brought in NAFTA, put more people in prison for small amounts of pot than any other President and dismantled welfare and destroyed public housing.
And then they get young idealists who don't know any better to go out and scream GREEDY at Republicans.

American democracy still works

The basic mechanics of American democracy, imperfect and defective though they may be, still function. Chronic defeatists and conspiracy theorists — well-intentioned though they may be — need to re-evaluate their defeatism and conspiracy theories in light of this rather compelling evidence which undermines them (a refusal to re-evaluate one's beliefs in light of conflicting evidence is a defining attribute of the Bush movement that shouldn't be replicated).
Karl Rove isn't all-powerful; he is a rejected loser. Republicans don't possess the power to dictate the outcome of elections with secret Diebold software. They can't magically produce Osama bin Laden the day before the election. They don't have the power to snap their fingers and hypnotize zombified Americans by exploiting a New Jersey court ruling on civil unions, or a John Kerry comment, or moronic buzzphrases and slogans designed to hide the truth (Americans heard all about how Democrats would bring their "San Francisco values" and their love of The Terrorists to Washington, and that moved nobody). It simply isn't the case that we are doomed and destined to lose at the hands of all-powerful, evil forces.
All of the hurdles and problems that are unquestionably present and serious — a dysfunctional and corrupt national media, apathy on the part of Americans, the potent use of propaganda by the Bush administration, voter suppression and election fraud tactics, gerrymandering and fundraising games — can all be overcome. They just were.
Bush opponents haven't been losing because the deck is hopelessly stacked against them. They were losing because they hadn't figured out a way to convey to their fellow citizens just how radical and dangerous this political movement has become. Now they have, and as a result, Americans see this movement for what it is and have begun the process of smashing it.
That work is far from over, but it can be achieved — unquestionably – by those willing to fight for that result and who figure out how to perusade a majority of American of the rightness of their views. That's exactly how our democracy is supposed to work.

The party lost because it deserved to. They ignored Rumsfeld when he called for pulling out within a year of taking Bahgdad according to the Woodward book (hardly a Republican apologist), and then to get the votes for the Patriot Act Bush promised Lieberman to set up HOMELAND SECURITY and make FEMA part of it.
How did that work out by the way?
Notice they still can't say, it's just as wrong for Republicans to steal votes as Democrats?
That's because when Democrats coldly manipulate stroke victims for votes, jobs and elections
(look up STROGER on Google) Fates web and Angry Chink clearly don't mind.
I have no problem saying what I don't like about either party, and saying if they don't shape up we should have a third party.
Thats the difference between someone who cares, and a party hack.

THE STORY BLOCKED FROM THE NATIONAL PRESS
(CBS) CHICAGO A lot of people went to bed Tuesday night and missed quite a show, when the election dragged into the wee hours of the morning.
CBS 2 was on the air until 4 a.m., and what happened in the race for the Cook County Board presidency made ''The West Wing'' and other political dramas look positively boring.
CBS 2's investigative reporter Pam Zekman was recaps the night's events, beginning with Todd Stroger's first and only public appearance of the night.
To the delight of his supporters Todd Stroger smiled as he entered the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency. He spoke to the crowd at 12:20 a.m., not to declare victory, but to wish them sweet dreams.
"I'm going to sleep. Just like Christmas, I'll see my present in the morning," said Stroger.
While Stroger was winding down, his Republican opponent Tony Peraica was just getting started.
About 20 minutes later he rallied his troops not just to keep faith, but to take action.
"We're not conceding… Are you kidding me?" said Peraica. "We need to have everyone go to 69 W. Washington."
And like the Pied Piper, Peraica led his supporters on a nearly mile-long walk from his Michigan Avenue headquarters to the Board of Elections.
That's when things really got ugly.
Dozens of Peraica loyalists clashed with a few overmatched election officials. At one point, the seal on one box of ballots appeared to have been opened.
Peraica finally managed to get up to the fifth floor where election workers were slowly tallying the results.
At ten minutes to 4 a.m. the candidate finally spun out of the revolving door of the county building, tired, but not giving up.
"[It's a} national embarrassment in Cook County... Can't get their act together," said Peraica.
Stroger campaign manager Mike Noonan had the final word a few minutes later.
"Things are looking good, but we're not ready to declare victory," he said.
We probably won't know for a while what caused all the problems Tuesday night.
One thing I do know: That was one of the wildest election nights in my 35 years as a reporter. |

PsychoDyke, I am not a democrat for one, for two I do not do ANYTHING partisan, I complain about corruption on both sides. you cannot pull your partisan BS with me. hell check your other thread and you will see me calling out clintons for drug traffiking in mena arkansas, what do you think I thought the clintons were republican? you partisan voters are the problem with the system. you only see one side of the problem....
for instance, I have admitted that IF ACORN has registered voters that were not legit, that something should be done about it. but you dont understand the concept of not seeing the party lines, hell I even voted for a republican in the last election.... does that not fuck with your head? you dont understand does not compute syntax error... |

Hi Angry- I'm not NC and don't have time to start a seperate identity.
I like Psychodyke, but when I started DJ'ing there already was a PSYCHOBITCH so I couldn't go in that direction.
ACORN is ruthless. I've met people that worked for them. Low to no pay, 7 days 12 hours a day every week, and if you are caught trying to unionize you get fired.

The Stroger story I referred to is far more fascinating than the Florida election. He had a stroke before the election, and remains in the hospital some say comatose.
This scared the hell out of the city.
You see, he is the one that directs you to government jobs.
So they covered it up. They said he was fine.
Because they were deathly afraid the Latinos would run a candidate and go after the jobs!
When they could no longer hide he was incapacitated, they ran his son.
He believes the Blacks are the only Jews and all Jews should either be killed or driven out of Israel, so Black Jews can take their place.
No. I'm not kidding.
Election night the ballots were taken offline ( a 44 million dollar useless voting system when they did that) and were taken downtown to be counted by Stroger people.
My god. My god.
Not even Communist copuntries ever tried to pull that one before!
And the national press, didn't think the story was worthwhile as they searched for Republican fraud.
