They have been bred on this stuff for decades. We are already dealing with kids who have grown up watching this type thing. Apparently we are going to do nothing except sit back and watch them build nukes. It's all we can do except adopt my plan which is to move away from them. It's like we're back watching the Hitler Youth indoctrination. Something tells me the result will be the same. |

I read Osama, unlike most Americans. He says we can leave the Mideast. We can stop dealing with Israel.
We can even become a Moslem state.
But it won't matter.
Because we dropped the nukes on Japan, we have to pay.
That is why he calls for nuclear attacks on America.
I fear many of the Dems pontificating today have never read Osama, and have no idea what we face. |

I wouldn't believe that.
It had a lot to do with it.
Other factors would be the Soviets declaring War on them and acting quickly in Korea and China.
Still the war was lost by Japan as we had the main island surrounded.
The atomic bombs gave the leadership a good excuse to quit. |

When I was in military school I was taught and had no reason to question what "we all know" about nukes and Japan. Recently the CIA declassified the actual true story of our propaganda, and Japan released the info about what happened from their point of view.
Consider: 300 planes firebombed Tokyo into rubble. The city was wiped out. Wiping out cities didn't mean much of anything because we had already wiped many out. ( If we had lost the war, Eisenhower said he and the military leaders would have been put on trial for the firebombings!)
Consider: What exactly did the words "atomic bomb" mean to the average Japanese? Nothing.
It wasn't even reported on the news in Japan! So they didn't even know what happened!
Consider: The Emperor was negotiating surrender, and we dropped flyers over Japan telling them this. Those flyers changed everything. Prisoners suddenly got food, the Japanese would run into the streets by the thousands to find out the news of the negotiations. Soldiers refused orders to stop them! YEP- THE PEN- NOT THE BOMB, GOT THE JAPANESE TO QUIT FIGHTING.
Consider: If, as we still say in our propaganda, the Japanese would fight to the last man- WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE WHAT KILLED THEM?
Consider- The emperor was being held prisoner by Japanese officers as the plane flew to nuke Nagasaki. He had already recorded his surrender on two discs which a radio station hid to keep the military from destroying. The military by the way, tortured the radio employees to reveal where the discs were. None would talk, though the torture went on for hours
When the disc was played, most of the officers who took the emperor hostage killed themselves.
Here is the CIA's declassified document on the true unsung heroes, the people who actually broke Japans will to fight to the death, simply by telling the Japanese people the truth that their own press was blocking.
I believe Truman dropped the nukes ( remember, he already knew they were negotiating for peace) to scare Russia. We had them. We would use them. However, since we now don't use them, it was pretty much a useless act.
The urban legend that the nukes ended the war implies nukes play a role in conventional warfare. They don't.
