Hey everyone, I'm sitting on the balcony wishing I had a cup of coffee. To my left are the Hollywood hills and to my right is LA. It's too hazy to see it right now, but I know it's there. You could see it nicely last night.
Last night was one hell of a long day and though we didn't make it way into the AM, I pretty happy with how long we were able to hang. KC, Johnny -- censored -- & Johnny jr came out with a large collection of SFNers. I don't know, maybe 15-20 of us.
I think we're catching up with a bunch of them again tonight at the Rainbow. The Hand says DEO & Ozzy are gonna be there. I told em I want to sing with them. :)
We're running to get some breakfast & then Johnny -- censored -- is picking us up to show us Beverly Hills.
Taylor form TSS Radio suggested we hit the hills and drive down Mulholland.
Tomorrow, we're going to hit the Universal Tour and tomorrow night it's Tenacious D at the Gibson Amphitheater.
I;'m trying to get our Sunday flight pushed back a little so we have time to hit Venice beach & the Sanamonica pier in the morning.
If you are in the area, let em know. we'd love to hook up with ya. If you've got any advice on what we should do while here, fill me in.

Great to see you Mutt! I'm beat! I didn't get to bed until 3am. I was gonna stay and hang with you guys, but I think I'm gonna head home and hit my own bed for a couple more hours! Have a great time in LA! |

Another day in paradise. After some meetings with big wigs int he monring, we hit Melrose & Rodeo drive. The girls went shopping while me & the 2 Johnny's shot the shit. We had lunch at an itailan cafe right in the middle of Beverly Hills. Chriss Katain was 2 tables over from us. After drinks on our balcony, Johnny took me out to see the town. We got some late night sandwiches at some famous deli with Mr Cindi Margollis. I've met alot of Stern fans out here.
KC just got here and woke us up with McMuffins. We're heading down to the pool now for coffee.
later today we're taking the Universal tour & tonight we're still on for Tenacious D

we followed your recommendation and had in & out burger for lunch. I wish we hadn't. the only thing we liked was the shake. |

Damn - don't know how I missed this thread before now. Wish I knew you were driving by - would have come out to wave (I'm just off Mulholland). Wasn't feeling up to coming out Thursday night, but looks like you guys had some fun. Next time you're coming out I'll send you some suggestions for places to go. |

Man I hate the fucking tourists driving through the hills at 5 mph. Most roads you can't pass them and they piss me off to no end. At least have the courtesy to drive the speed limit. It's the one drawback of living in the Hills. |

What an awesome time we all had! My girl actually had tears in her eyes when we were walking out of the hotel to head over to the airport. Johnny showed us a really great time! His family were all really nice too! Joey, his baby boy (4 1/2) was so so so cute! and very funny! "I only eat organic. High fructose corn syrup is bad for you." He also did a really funny impression of Dice. "Hickory Dickory Dock - Ohhhhh" Too too funny! Johnny Jr. was really nice and so beautiful - in a masculine way. Johnny's girl, Jowanka (pronounced Ivanka) is stunningly gorgeous and such a kind woman. She was very hospitable. I loved Johnny Sr's stories. He is such a crack up! I could sit and listen to him for hours!
We had a great time shopping at Century City and on Rodeo Dr. Mutt bought our girl a beautiful dress for her birthday and lots of other great stuff too! Johnny took us out for some really good meals.
Bottom line, we fell in love with the place! My girl and I are busy trying to come up with ways to move out there. It's so pretty there and just a whole other way of life. We loved it.
It was so fun meeting up with SFN'rs. Everyone is always so nice. We had fun at El Guapo with all of you. KC showed up and we all had a great time partying on Melrose! My daughter was stunned when one of the guys pointed out a couple of "working girls" walking down Melrose. She loves the movie "Pretty Woman" and I guess she thought when we went out to Beverly Hills, she would see all sorts of prostitutes walking around. It was like one of the sites along with the walk of fame and the chinese theater that was on her list to see while we were there.
The Sirius studio out there was very cool and the guys working there were great! Yellowcard was there in one of the recording studios and the drummers little dog was in one of the offices hanging out while they worked. My daughter was thrilled to get to hold the dog and I got some good pics of her with the critter!
Thanks to all of you who made our trip special! It was great to see everyone and we can't wait to come back out there real soon!

| Funny how growing up on the east coast I always thought of LA as a dirty, bad place. I never expected to move here, but when I came out on a business trip I fell in love too. It's not for everyone, but so many east coasters have a negative view until they actually spend some time here. Glad you guys had so much fun. It's already too crowded, and when people complain about it I encourage them to just leave. However we'd love to have more people here who actually appreciate it! |
