The Butler
The NFL moves into week 11 and the Chase for the Nextel Cup comes down to the final 400 miles at Homestead Florida. Jimmie Johnson needs to finish 12th or better to win the Cup.

Lost in the hype that was OSU/Michigan week (in case you missed it, the Buckeyes won :D ) is the fact that today, it's the Browns vs. the Steelers, another classic rivalry. Pittsburgh left a bad taste in the mouths of Brown fans with a 41 - 0 beatdown last year on Christmas Eve.

Stop by, discuss the NFL games on TV in your area, and root for your driver to win the race and possibly the Nextel Cup. Team Butler to be announced later.
Banqchef
Butler we did the thread at the same exact time check it out now we need jaeger to combine them
The Butler
Both time stamped at 10:00, what are the odds?
artiefan711

In honor of today's last race of the Nextel Cup season, Team Butler will be renamed Team Darkside. To that end, I will let the members here choose my A and B drivers. Scott Riggs, starting second will be the C driver.

Pick One - A List
Tony Stewart, starting 21st
Jimmie Johnson, starting 15th

Choose Two - B List
Kevin Harvick, starting 7th
Kyle Busch, starting 3rd
Jeff Burton, starting 5th
Denny Hamlin, starting 33rd
artiefan711
Morning SRFl.
Banqchef
butler you cant go wrong with Stewart since he won the last 2 1.5 mile track races
I would have to take Harvick for B for the fact that he has someone greater looking down on him and has 7 nascar championship

Local coverage:

1PM CBS Tennessee Titans @ Philadelphia Eagles
1PM FOX Atlanta Falcons @ Baltimore Ravens

4PM CBS Indianapolis Colts @ Dallas Cowboys

As for Butler's list, since my choices are limited, I'll have to go with history and take Tony on the A-list but Jimmie will cover for the championship, and my B-listers are Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton (he's due for a halfway decent race in the Chase).
artiefan711
Damn Monson should have at least tried kicking or learned it, this sucks....

I had to pick 8 drivers prior to qualifyng, that's why the choices are limited. I agree with most of the assesments that Smoke will run well and Johnson will win the Championship. I had this same dilema last week and picked Tony. He finished 14th and Johnson finished 2nd.

I just can't see Jimmie blowing up two years in a row in the final race to kiss his championship shot goodbye. He was in 2nd the previous two years in points going into the final race, losing by the slimmest of margins to Kurt Busch in '04 and blew his engine last year to finish behind Smoke. Just something about this season and all the adversity and controversy that has surrounded his team and basically persevering through all of it (Knaus suspended beginning of season, rough start in Chase) says he won't be denied (like him or not).
The Butler
Excuse me if I'm basking in all things Ohio State. The end of the game is playing now on ESPN Classic and the beginning just started on ESPN U. If this isn't heaven, I don't know what is.
The Butler
Found this over in GC and thought it was pretty cool.

1:00pm games on CBS

PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was carted off the field with a right knee injury early in the second quarter of Philadelphia's game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

McNabb was rolling to his right near the Tennessee sideline and was bumped out of bounds by Kyle Vanden Bosch after throwing an incomplete pass. He grabbed his leg and was immediately tended to by trainers. There was no immediate word on the extent of his injury. He was replaced in the lineup by Jeff Garcia.

McNabb, a five-time Pro Bowler, came into the game tied with Peyton Manning for the league lead with 18 touchdown passes and was second in the league with 2,569 yards passing.

McNabb had surgery for a sports hernia and missed the final seven games last season when the Eagles finished 5-11 a year after going to the Super Bowl. McNabb also sat out the final six regular-season games of the 2002 season with a broken ankle before returning for the playoffs.

The Eagles were 2-5 with Mike McMahon filling in for McNabb last year and went 5-1 with Koy Detmer and A.J. Feeley starting the last six games in '02.

McNabb was 6-for-13 for 78 yards and threw an interception in the end zone before leaving the game.
