Could they make the small antenna any more fragile? My friends indoor antenna wire got caught in the Window and became useless. The unit would not even recognize that an antenna was connected. So instead of spending the ridiculous amount of $40 on a new antenna I just bought a "Sirius One" unit for $20 Bucks from Circuit City and swapped the new antenna with the broken one. Then I brought the package back to the store for a refund. So I got a new antenna for him for free. There is no way in hell I was about to be ripped off by having to pay for that cheap ass antenna. A thicker more durable antenna wire is needed. Beiseds that............ Why are they charging $40 Dollars for an antenna that is probably worth about $6 Bucks! It's the biggest scam going.

Be very careful then. I took the new antenna and fed it through the air conditioning grate. Safer that way.

Max Rockatansky
If the wire was thicker you could not shut it in a window moron.

A little more thicker and durable would be fine because once you shut the window on the thing to hard it's as good as gone.

my first one last about 7 or 8 months, I think, then it had that antenna not conected problem so I ordered 2 and I've been using 1 of them ever since.

The wire is quite fragile. This goes for the home unit also. You should not crimp the wire, or run it where it will be pinched by a car door or trunk.

When my Sirius antenna in the car fucked up. I brought the entire unit back to Circuit City and they replaced it. Sirius turned the radio on with a simple phone call. I'm a happy camper.
Chowderhead29
Throw out your Sirius gear. Buy XM shit. Leave SFN. FUCKOFF! :fuckoff:

I'm currently using my old XM antenna for one of my Sirius radios; it doesn't matter: apparently just the embossed logo is different.
gillboy80
i have to agree. i've gone through 4 in a year.
joyceface
I'm already on like antenna #3. They suck. I took the onle from the boom box and stuck it on my dash. It's starting to go too now though where the plug connects to the received.

They need to use same technology has with a cordless phone or wireless microphone rather than the fucking wire. I have fucked up two antennas this year plus they are a tangled up mess and in the way even if you stick it under the visor. I switch mine around quite a bit from different pickups and tractors for different jobs.
marraco99
Are there other parts that are this problematic? What is the deal with the antennas- bad quality and/or difficult install? I know that not all cars are the same to install third party items- some difficult and easy.
