I think it was Jenna that prevented Tito from focusing. They have split and she was not in attendance.
Though he went up to Big Bear for 10 months- can you imagine the threesomes girl on girl A2M wild ass sex that went on?
Chuck has a great sprawl and Tito was shooting from too far, you cannot get in on a guy like Chuck in that manner.
The only way is to get inside and then shoot. Chuck reminded Tito of why it is hard to get in on Tito- but that is where the leg game comes in- and Tito's kicks were too low, which is why he jacked up his foot.
Chuck is beatable, it just takes good timing, focus and the right training on Chuck's common traits.
Some great fights last night. I'll rewind that one and watch it a few times-

Could have been a better fight. Tito got lucky in the first round after he was cut to kick out b/c the fight should have been called then. Liddell is just psychotic, pure determiination.
Tito was in way better condition but Chuck just had pure heart and animal instinct. Bisping fight was probably the best. I wanted him to win but he was getting his ass kicked for most of the fight. |

I felt body wise Tito was tighter although he always was. Liddell is not known for his tightness or stamina necessarily. He doesn't have to be he is pure adrenaline.....and yes it is hot. |

yeah, the arlovski fight was another fucked up end! The ref totally screwed that one up. Although, when they did slow it down, it did look like arlovski waited a bit before actually throwing that punch.... but still... even arlovski didn't look pleased when he won.

| I think it could have been a better fight, but chuck played it patiently. He knew that if Tito couldnt shoot him to the mat then he stood the best chance of winning. On the feet is Chucks game, on the mat is Tito's. thats why he let him get up instead of getting on top of him the few times Tito hit the mat. I do wish chuck threw the hands more and gave Tito a better beating. :rolleyes: |

Yeah, Herb Dean should be fined if not fired for that stunt he pulled last night. Arlovski came off as a cheap shot artist and hurt his rep with how he performed. Not only did he cheap shot the guy, he also held on to the cage (which is a big no no) to prevent the guy from submitting him.
To me the fight of the night was Griffin vs. Jardine. Jardine destroyed Griffin after the announcers pretty much felated Griffin the entire time and gave him the early win. Rogan, Goldberg, and Couture had major egg on their faces after watching Griffin lose by a brutal GnP. Forrest acted like a complete douche after his defeat and showed his true colors.

How can you say Bisping was the best fight...?...if Schafer was a little more skilled at his arm bar/submission holds Bisping would have been done....
Best fight on the card was Forrest Griffin getting his ass handed to him from the ring of the bell by Jardin....Griffin was the favorite and he was not prepared for Jardin's leg striking and the way he closed on him when he hurt him with those close short punches inside was awesome..
Tito's conditioning was not a factor when it comes to the way you have to fight Liddell....he NEVER hurt him...therefore he never opened an opportunity to outlast him...Liddell was in complete control from the first round on...christ even when Tito had him clenched Liddell got out with a vicious elbow strike.

I called the Jardine upset and made some decent $$ on it. I thought Jardine was going to punish Forrest with leg kicks like he did with Bonnar - a fight he won but got robbed. I did not expect him to catch forrest with punches though. He fucking pounded him. Holy shit, Forrest can take a beating! |

mirko ain't dropping down to 205, he loathes cutting weight though him and chuck walk around at the same weight (220, which mirko fights at)... in fact when mirko dismantled wandy at the OWP, wandy actually weighed 3 pounds more than mirko...
I really really really doubt chuck wants any of mirko and would move up, but as poster, nd, pointed out, a middleweight could be arranged if they wanted to dance..
mirko is a nightmare for chuck though.. just like I think rampage will be... should be a good new year of 2007...

I was really tempted to take McDonald over Leben as another dog after seeing him run through Ed Herman at Ultimate Fight Night but I stayed away. As much as I dislike Leben, he has a habit of pulling a fight-ending punch out of his ass.
As far as future UFC bouts go:
I am still a little skeptical of Rampage as the second coming. He didn't look that impressive against Lindland in his last fight and I doubt the time off has improved his game.
I would love to see how Tito would fare against Babalu.
Cro-Cop is going to tear through the heavyweight division and I don't see him dropping down a weight class. Why would he? Wasn't he signed to help fill out that division.? If anyone should drop down in weight to fight Chuck, it's Brandon Vera - he's WAY too small for that class. |

yeah.. read about that after the fight.... I don't know about you, but I'm not impressed with fighters pressing through injuries like this... I think if it was a serious risk to chuck winning the fight, if it bothered him in training to the point where he realized hed be significantly worse, he'd opt out of the fight... I think it sounds more impressive than it really is... I've known many guys in my amateur sports with wicked injuries they needed surgery but just keep putting them off, and don't really suffer more than discomfort...
could be wrong but it seems these injuries only have significance when the guys lose...
saying that though, it was a great performance by chuck and if he was seriously hampered by the injury, even more impressive, but his mobility looked as it always did...
I've probably underestimated chuck more than any mma fighter I've ever seen... I still don't see it and am still surprised he wins with that style... I think coming from a traditional boxing background, it's just impossible for me to fathom getting hit and hurt by his punches, but my hat is off to the guy, he's a serious force in mma and does things I just don't have the experience to understand..
p.s. nd, did you get a chance to watch the melendez vs kawajiri fight? curious what your thoughts were on that... I fucking LOVED that fight and thought it was one of the more complete, desparate efforts by two fighters I've ever seen.. am surprised some of the feedback on the net hasn't been as positive...
