Even if that was a good point, which it's not, there's no way to guarantee that he would go to Afghanistan, and not Iraq.

That's actually a brilliant excuse. Now when people ask me why I'm not in Iraq I'll just say even though I really want to be there (wink, wink) there is no guarantee I would go there and I dont want to end up in Afghanistan or someplace else. :p

Olbermann is trying to make a name for himself with his "special comments," and that's fine. But he should tone down the frequency. Here he is going ape shit over a speech that hasn't been delivered yet. All he is reacting to are "leaks" that may or may not be valid. If these predictions are true, then he was right in what he was saying. But he should wait until the President actually shows his mug on TV and states his intentions.
That being said, the notion of asking the American public to "sacrifice" is 5 years too late. The best President Bush has done is to encourage the people to "go shopping" and keep the economy moving. You can't ask so little of the people and, at the same time, present this as a struggle that is equal to, if not greater than, World War II. |

olberman doesnt have a lot to do with it. dan abrams does. any person they hired to counter Orieley would deliver the same message.
