| Let’s assume I missed a Bubba, Riley or whatever show. Will Sirius ever offer an On Demand internet stream of previous shows? It would be nice if I were busy at work today and came home at 8 PM and wished to listen to today’s Bubba show. I could sign on to the internet stream even on say a Saturday afternoon and click on said missed show and get the full stream. I realize we have replays and even S50’s/Stilettos but sometimes the replays don’t start at a good time and not everyone can afford a Stiletto. What do you guys think, would this be a nice addition for Sirius subscribers? |

| I brought up the possibility of podcasting in the "Give us back our Friday nights" thread. I'm hoping now that Sirius has a positive cash flow, they can provide additional features to their subscribers. Decent quality for online listening would be nice. Especially with talks of a possible increase in monthly fees, Sirius should do all they can to keep subscribers happy with the service. As I brought up before, there are a few Sirius hosts that podcast their show. I'm sure that subscribers would be willing to pay a small additional charge (Stephanie Miller charges $8 a month, or $5 a month for a year's subscription) to download Howard or Bubba's show. |

| ...maybe someone that tapes the show could have a daily replay file or link posted in a sticky thread right here in the btls forum? |

I think that's against the rules. Mutt says we can't post complete shows, only short clips. |

Hey Chob,
I’m not trying to steal any of your ideas just so you know. I haven’t been around much the past month or so due to work and didn’t read your thread.
I don’t ever see Sirius doing pod casts for their primary shows as it’s too easy to steal. Yes I know shows can currently be recorded but I suspect Sirius would view this as aiding the thieves. This is why I figured Sirius might go for an On Demand type of streaming. Say Sirius isn’t willing to do pod casting, would you be willing to pay extra for on demand streaming?
Also I could always be wrong but I’m not so sure Sirius is too willing to up the free steaming bit rate given they are trying to sell that to you via Sirius Internet Radio. I have to admit the 128K stream for $3 isn’t too bad if you use a computer. The sound quality is very nice. |

Mutt doesn’t allow posting of full shows and nor should he. That would lead to people stealing the show and that’s not good for SFN’s image in the eyes of Sirius. I’m posing this as a legit way for Sirius to provide value added content/benefits to subscribers. |

For just simply "talk-radio", 32kbps bitrate is sufficient, but it sucks for the music. 128kbps is the minimum I would even consider as "good" for music (I do my MP3 files @ 160kbps when I want CD quality -- anything above 192kbps is redundant overkill). If the online streaming was something I did on a daily basis, I'd certainly pony up the extra $3/month. But honestly, if you have ANY recording device (Stilletto anyone?), it's already easy enough to repost elsewhere. Podcasting sorta kinda defeats the purpose of the Sirius service, doesn't it? |

Those are far from being any of my original ideas. Many people have brought that up. Hell, that wasn't even my thread.

I would love an on-demand service. With the tapes now in the fold, the possibilities are mind-boggling. However, much like the higher bit-rate streaming, I doubt they'll be willing to give away any further features for free. It would be worth paying for if it was the right price. The thing about the streaming that I don't get is that for the price of a radio (especially a Stiletto) and the regular subscription cost, you think they could give you the higher bit-rate streaming. Or if you have two radios, exchange one of the online accounts for the better quality streaming. |

| OK well I guess the question then would be " are ppl willing to pay for the same thing twice?". I could see hardcore fans like you and I paying a bit if we missed a show but not sure the demand would be there for the general listeners.I think if its viable Sirius would eventually implement such a thing, being that this is a business it would only make sense. Its a great idea as an added value gimmick but IMO I dont think ppl in general would be willing to pay extra for it... |
