What the fuck???????????????

We had a slight wind storm and the planet shifted? I missed Yesterdays show and the replays!!!

Howard makes it sound like it is some great technology. It is flawed big time!

Only fucking reason I have sattelite is Stern and that is it!

Acquiring signal is the achilles heel of this shit industry.

And "Free Fm" sucks because of the commercials though Satteliteis getting a little brazen about their |"no commercial bs" at least for Stern.

you have to put the antenna outside of the house dummy.

Had this a few weeks ago, my antenna went bad. All of a sudden too. Maybe buy a new one.

I don't have problems in any condition with my new unit or my wife's 2006 x-act. I did however, lose the signal constantly in any condition with my 2004 exact. Might be the unit.

Try plugging in the antenna. Then....

I felt your same pain a few days ago until I realized I had to move my antenna signal. Depending on your "unit" you might be able to change the direction of the signal. Once I did this I was able to get Howard as clear as can be.

Try having the "Acquiring Signal" channel for 3 weeks!!!

The problem with my radio was that I had a bad antenna, you may need to get your antenna replaced. If so get it replaced before the warranty runs out.

Depending on your "unit" you just might want to wash it in the bathroom sink.
Chowderhead29
I have a terrestrial signal in the big city so I dont worry at all. :funny:
aludwig7

SkyMan
you may want to switch to satellite radio
STEVE442
You might want to move a little closer to the internal part of the US

Thanks for the feedback guys. No it isn't the antenna. The signal has been great for long stretches. I've had the unit about a year now.
Only during wind storms or bad weather does it completely quit.

yea, for the last week i havent been able to get a constant signal in my bedroom, not even if i put the antenna by my window. Ive placed it in about 35 different locations and no luck. Ive gone back to streaming the show on my pc, which blows cuz the home system connected to my pc heats up my room, unlike my boombox.

Try having the "Acquiring Signal" for six months! When I went to buy a new antenna the guy at the store told me it was a result of the downgrading of the FM signal because people where getting it on their FM radios if they were near a unit. He told me a new antenna wouldn't help until Sirius came out with a new generation antenna to fix the problem.

I just gave up and listen to the stream on the internet.

Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do.

The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the PAIN and joy it brings to others.

may your reception decrease exponentially everytime you continue to suck.

No, it's not your antenna. The signal has sucked for about a month now. Whichever nitwit engineers thought constantly moving sats. was a good idea should join Sadaam in his quest for the 72 virgins.

Problem will get better (hopefully) when they launch a new satellite next year.
WillowGlen
three units and streaming. Not one issue in over a year. Bought two new ones as gifts for xmas this year with no problem. Mabye it gods way of telling you to stick with Opie and anthony becuase you arent smart enough to work the Sirius equipment.

I used to live in Sherman Oaks. No way was I going to get a signal unless I had an Outdoor Antenna.

I never got drop outs once I did.

I even found a way to suction cup the antenna to the window so I didn't need to drill.

Can you tell us what model radio you have? And is this in the Home?

I've found that some Starmate Replays had issues where it displayed "Aquiring Signal" even if the antenna was fine.

Here are some simple suggestions.

-Try using another antenna
-Look to see if the pin where the antenna plugs into isn't broken

Dude, no biggie. I work downtown Seattle and had the same thing on Tuesday. Rather than get all bunged up about it, I just listened to the show on the internet. Chill.

You have to take it out of your ass to get it to work.

What FM radio picks up a 2.3GHz signal with OFDM modulation?

FM radios are analog, Siruis radios are digital.

That guy was full of shit.

And if he meant the FM transmitter inside the base station, then he's an even a bigger bullshiter.

Siruis uses an active antenna. Which means there's circuitry inside that amplifies the signal and helps block out the XM terrestrial signal. Which are quite strong in some areas. It could cause data corruption. Check the signal strengh meter that's in some radios. If you have a large signal but are still "Aquiring Signal" then that could be the issue.

I would get a new antenna and try that.

bought a stiletto so I could record ferrell--tried EVEYWHERE in the house but can't get a good signal--wasted 350 on the stileto PLUS another subscription for something I can't use--anyone have a solution?

Solutions:

1. If you have DSL, get a wireless router, I recommend Linksys. Then use the Stiletto's WiFi mode inside the house. It works great! You'll love it.
2. Get the home docking station for the Stiletto and install the antenna that comes with the craddle outdoors.
3. If none of these work, return it. Any decent store has a 30-day refund policy.

Good luck!

I love my satellite radio (a Starmate Replay). I've had it for over a year now and the reception has been mostly great. But lately, I've been having lots of problems with the reception. I record the show while I'm at work and have been coming home to find the first 30 to 60 minutes of the show to be riddled with dropouts and holes. It causes a weird digital echo-sounding effect when it cuts in and out. But then, the signal is perfect. I wonder if my unit is taking time to warm up or something.

I live near Seattle and had a mysterious Acquiring Signal event yesterday, Jan 3, also, when I got home at 4:30 - 5 PM. The signal was fine on the way home using the auto antenna. I went outside and disconnected the antenna at its connection point to my 50 Terk extension line. There was water inside the rubber boot despite being under the eaves but a few feet below. I wiped it off and reconnected and then it worked. Maybe just too much wet weather lately.

you must really be a dumbass, because if you were having that kind of problem you should have the internet radio option and logged on in that case........
osudrek
my problem with sirius is that i do have the internet radio option, but i paid good fucking money for this equipment and it should fucking work
