I was on Sirius online and noticed the nascar channel isnt listed.I hope it gets on lineup, cuz i would like to sit and watch race but listen online. Does anyone know anything abut it not being online?
CHU
There's something with the broadcasting rights.

English Premier League soccer on Ch. 125 is also not available online, ESPN Radio (which sometimes broadcasts games) is not available online through Sirius and the NBA Ch. 127 (also broadcasting games) is not available online.
SA Motorsports
I was listening the other day and they (I don't remember which show I was listening to) said they hoped to get it worked out. I assumed (I know!) that it was the same deal as H100 and H101.

There was a thread on this topic over at SBS. They are working towards getting the Nascar channel on the internet. But, even once it's on, it will not include races. Nascar retains those rights.

I asked Captain Thunder about this in his thread in Ferrall's area, and he said they plan to have it up and running the Daytona 500.

I presume once the Superbowl is over, then Sirius will start to pump up Nascar on Sirius more than do now.

That's kinda odd, why they can't stream it through the internet, I mean what is the difference?

I'll be honest with you. the Nascar RACE coverage isn't worth SHIT IMO. MRN is everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

The in car is the value here, the additional programing ect.......... but the actual race coverage will be the same shitty MRN coverage you could always have and will always get for free, and it is shitty. Thats why I could never understand why XM thought it was some type of great thing to have, they had nothing else with the exception of a Dale Jr. show that was as compelling as asbestos removal .

Why would NASCAR allow Sirius to give broadcast feed FREE, when they charge a premium rate for the Pit Command, Live Broad cast and other features on their own website?

Well in fairness. the Race broadcast IS free as MRN ( the Motor Racing Network) is on AM or FM in every market in the USA.

As far as it being broadcast for "Free" the last time I checked Sirius paid a handsome amount of money for the broadcast rights to NASCAR. And my Monthly bill argues with your assumption that we are getting anything for "free". So seeings how I can turn on 1010 AM here is the Tampa/Orlando area and hear the race broadcasts for "free" what am I paying for ??? The additional content!! To stream or not to Stream that is the question.

I hear ya bro, that is my whole thought about being able to stream it, ie...the in car audio. I don't have a home dock because I have a pretty good speaker system that I stream everything, I was thinkin, like probably everyone else to watch the race while sippin' a chilly, and sittin' in the recliner and gettin' the in car via the stream.

That in car deal is an AWESOME idea. I got a few hillbilly buddies that are gettin' a unit just for the nascar, in car deal.

Jaeger,
I disagree. For instance, when I am back visiting the in-laws during the summer and start to drive home, I go in and out of like 5 MRN stations, it sucks to keep having to change around to find one. It is going to be great to listen to NASCAR without static and without having to search for stations every 60 miles. I bet the Sirius coverage of the races will be better then MRN. Look at how good Fox does the TV broadcast compared to NBC. Just my two cents though.
CadillacKing3
Yeah, having access to MRN or PRN is the same value of convience as having access to ESPN radio. You know what station it is and you NEVER have to change it.
jimr28
In my area in the RI/MA area MRN is available on 1 country station. It's not in the Boston area at all. And we only get the cup races. To be able to hear the BGN races is always good. I spend a lot of time on the road on weekends and can't always listen to the 1 station.
Jaeger
OK well I guess someone doesn't get MRN................ In any case the MRN race call is shitty. I wish Sirius would hire their own team to call the races.
