here's the deal,
I was listening the other day, and I tried to call in to the show but no luck for me. I just wanted to put this up because I've tried a bunch of different ways that you guys are describing, especially with oil or margarine type spreads and I thought i'd save you and the listeners a lot of wasted herb.
You will need 2.5 ounces of herb. I recommend that you use clippings from great herb (i'm sure Ned's got plenty lying around :D ) or cheaper herb that is still potent.
you will need a crock pot with 3 settings on it: keep warm, low, and high
you will need 12 sticks of butter. you will need to use REAL butter. No margarine, no substitutes. butter and butter only. Other things don't work this way. You might be able to get them to work some other way but butter is the only thing i've found that actually works the way its supposed to.
you will need a LARGE metal or ceramic bowl.
you will need a large metal wire pasta strainer.

put the butter in the crock pot, cover, and turn it onto low. keep it on low until the butter is completely melted into liquid, it usually takes about 45 minutes. Turn the crock pot onto "keep warm".
put 2 ounces of herb into the butter. I've never used buds for this, you might want to grind them up a bit. mix it up well with a wooden spoon. Cover.
cook on "keep warm" for 24 hours. Give it a stir with the wooden spoon every few hours, and add the other 1/2 oz halfway through.
when 24 hours is up, get someone to hold the strainer over the metal bowl and pour the contents of the crock pot into the strainer. if you have rubber gloves, you can give the cooked plant matter a good squeeze to get all the butter you can out of it.
throw the butter into the fridge. when it is cooled off, its ready for use. Cover it and keep it in the fridge until you use it to cook with.

You can use that butter as any recipe calls for, normally, just dont overcook your edibles. They come out like very strong opiate painkillers.

I read it... saved it... and appreciate it... but I have no where else to use this... so I'm using it here... :D

I don't use that much butter, and it still seems to get the trick done.

What I find makes even more potent brownies, is to take some high quality shake and prepare it like bubble hash. Put it in ice water, agitate it, let it settle, the green floats to the top, the trichomes to the bottom. Take the green off, screen it a few times, agitate, etc...

What is left can be pressed into hash, or it can just be spooned into whatever kind of food you want to eat.

Doesn't have much of a taste, peanut butter on crackers or bread does the trick. This way, no unwanted heat gets to it before I eat it also, like cooking brownies or putting it in hot butter would.

Quite a different and longer lasting effect than smoking it, but I think smoking it would get more people where they need to be than eating it, but maybe not for as long

Oh, and I know one guy who swears by olive oil over butter.

But he is Itallian, so he might be biased.

i'd like to find out how to prep olive oil. it'd be a hell of a lot healthier and I could do some tasty shit. I LOVE bubble hash. and yes this will give you enough butter to last a year

2 and 1/2 ounces sounds pricey. I used to get fucked up on like 4 tokes because I could take some monster hits. If I want some edible weed I'll go pick some budding ditchweed out of my pasture and make a salad. Please pass the ranch.

well thats why I say smoke your buds and use clippings instead. Most growers are happy to simply be rid of theirs. Also, I appear to have a very high tolerance for THC products, so you might want to half the herb in this recipe unless you want to get knocked out.
