With the exception of Steve Sommers and Imus, WFAN is still hands down better than the Sirius sports shows. The only thing that keeps me listening to Siriius sports are when the FAN starts to talk about a subject that I don't care for. Mike/Maddog have been a part of my day for at least 14 years, Beningo is great (wish he still did overnights though) and this new kid, Evan Roberts (?), seems pretty good.
Anyone else still find themselves attached to the fan? I don't listen to regular radio if it's not 660... |

I am the exact opposite, WFAN has pretty much lost me because of Sirius.
I used to he a K-Rock guy and then when Howard went off the air I would go right to WFAN for the remainder of the day.
Those days are gone.
As much as I love Beningo I never hear him anymore with Howard going till 11ish and then the wrap up show taking over.
Mike and the Mad Dog I still go back to every once in a while but I only listen to maybe an hour a day, compared to before Sirius when I would listen to almost the whole show.
Best sports show on Sirius is the Afternoon blitz from 3-7 with Adam Shyne(who used to be on WFAN and still might do some fill in work). By far the best football show on terrestrial or satellite radio.
Normally I would rather listen to the Stern show again in repeat then hear Mike and Chris talk down to the callers and not know what they are talkingn about. I hate Russo with a passion, nobody knows less about sports then him! |

I hear you on "listening less". Even if the FAN is still where I go for sports, the replays have cut into Mike and the Maddog for me BIG TIME. I think I'm the only one who likes Russo...I've never heard of anybody saying they like him.
He reminds me of my uncle who just says stuff like, "I could've made that catch!" to a reciever who has dropped a pass. Sure uncle wayne, YOU could've made the catch, but you weren't going to create any space between you and that quick black cornerback...
Adam Shyne is good. I used to listen to him on the weekends...
I LOVED Rosenberg when I first heard him, but he wore thin on me...
I hate that boxing guy who hosts a 2am show on Saturdays (last I heard)...Tony something? |

I've been looking for a good Sports show on Sirius. What station do you guys listen to and what shows? I've tried to get into The Sports Bash and Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN radio and just can't. IMO, both shows just try to manufacture arguments for the sake of arguing, especially the Sports Bash. There's never any kind of insight or actual analysis.
While Mike and the Maddog may be in over their heads sometimes, at least they try to provide some analysis, even if it's wrong. |

If you want a NFL show then listen to NFL Radio( Channel 124) from 3-7.
Best football show on all of radio.
And the hosts dont talk down to the callers.
They also get all the top players/coaches to call in daily. |

Mike and Mike in the morning annoy me to no end. Before every commercial break they are like, "which QB is on the verge of greatness and why you need to hear this story..."
Then they play ten commercials.
Then they throw some bullcrap out there for people to debate and it's NEVER worth debating.
Plus, they just aren't interesting.
Max Kellerman did a show on ESPN radio from 7-8 a couple years back (might still be doing it). He CONSTANTLY did crap like that. He'd say stupid things to get a rise out of people. THAT is why ESPN radio hasn't overtaken the fan in NY. WFAN plays to the crowd, they don't try to piss them off. |

Think his name is Tony Paige.
He is certainly very knowledgable about boxing and sports but I think he is aimed at more of the old timers.
Since i barely listen I have not heard enough of Evan Roberts to comment on him.
My favorite show was Sid and Joe. I would love to see them bring Sid back or bring him to Sirius. |

| I switch between Sterling and Mike and the Mad Dog. I haven't heard the Sirius sports talk, but if it's not NY centric I wouldn't care for it. |

You mean you dont like to hear about little Timmy and Russo's tennis game? :D
Russo is the only guy who gets paid to talk about sports for 5 hours a day, but wont watch a game. He will just read the box score and try to interpret that. |

| i still listen to wfan it's one of the few things i listen to on regular radio. i usually just turn it on to see what they're talking about, but there are only so many questions that can be asked. like this week there were only two questions, 1 Can the jets win and 2. can the giants win. i listen more when something big is happening, like free agent signings. mostly i just listen to mike and the mad dog. i do find that mike can be a little pompous. but usually i find them the best. steve sommers is good for a laugh, boningno is ok because he likes the mets and jets |

I love when they discuss only movies the day before the Oscars. They discuss cinementography, set design, and plot development. It's great, 4 hours an NO sports. My other favorite was after 9/11 they predicted when Osama would be caught with the same type of analysis that's done with a point spread....for the record, I believe the over / under was 3 years. So, it you took the over, you won. |

how about when russo asks francessa to predict the fucking ratings!!!!!
it's classic... russo willl ask francessa to give him a number on the the football game or whatever... francesa will say 4.0 or somthing, russo will be wow, you were close Mike it was a 3.5 and then they will proceed to pat themselves on the back for the next 5 minutes.. |

| I like ESPn better. Mike and Mike are good but dont listen because Howard is on. Stephan A smith is awesome and funny as shit to listen to. Dan patrick sucks dick. Michael kay is a great listen and Brandon Tierney at 7 is also excellent. Forced to listen to Mike and Maddog from 2-4 |

| Fatcessa and The mad dog are ubber annoying. I still cant get over the day they procedded to flame Corey Lidle for pretty much a newspaper reporter twisting Lidle's words. I love how they berate Brian Cashman and how Cash takes it. To me the best days of the fan were back in the mid and late 90s since then they shuffle the shit out of their rotation. I wish Imus would die or retire and get sports talk show on in the morning. |
