The suction cup mounting bracket keeps falling off. Does anyone have any FOOLPROOF ways to keep the unit sticking to the glass? I was thinking of applying silicone before remounting it.

If you remove the rest of the cradle before applying the suction cup it works best...Once you have a good seal, reattach the cradle and you are golden...

You pay over a hundred dollars per year on your subscription and you actually have your radio suction cupped to your windshield? Get that shit installed for real you twatwaffle!

I have the same problem. I haven't been able to find a good solution yet, either.

I bought a bracket off eBay that mounts to the a/c vent. Cheap and works great.

Pour a little bit of water in the cup and attach. Also, it helps to make sure your windshield is clean and the radio ends up resting on the dash. I've only had to re-do this twice in the year I've owned the radio and that was in the really hot weather.

Clean the spot on your window where you are attaching the cup with rubbing alcohol. When it is dry attach the cup.
It should last for several months but it will fall off again, it is only a suction cup.
When it falls off do it again.

Drill a 8/32 hole through your windshield. Use a long screw to attach unit to windshield. Don't forget to use a good serrated washer so the unit doesn't spin!! Hope this helps.

I use a little spit....seriously

Description

Arkon SR033 Pedestal Cup Holder Mount Description
This mount will put your SIRIUS receiver on a pedestal above your vehicle's cupholder.

Standing about 5" tall the pedestal features an adjustable flywheel base that expands to fit varying cup holder opening. It however, will not work with adjustable type cup holder openings or those that are quite large such as the ones on the Full Size Chevy trucks.

This pedestal does work with most vehicles however for some types of cars, the cup holder is not the best location in which to mount a device.

Will not work with Starmate or Streamer GT

Requires Mounting Plate for Streamer GTR or Starmate Replay which we are not able to offer.

I gave up on the window mount.

I got one of these for both cars. They make a nice looking bracket that looks professional.

I didn't use a cup holder mount.....

my wife's is the suction cup and i have a problem keeping it on teh windshield. The S50 came with teh 3M sticky bracket, and that falls off. I'm in Florida and I think it may be the heat that does it.

Spit or water--this always works for me.

Really, those clear suction cups have a limited lifetime. They last a shorter time in hotter weather.

That's why I mounted mine with a bracket.

;)

mine comes off from time to time. clean the spot again, wet the suction cup a little and re-apply it
CASA MAMA
Heres a trick I use on my Valentine 1 Radar Detector: Epoxy VELCRO to the suction cups and apply VELCRO to the windshield. This method works very well but maybe once a year you need to put new material on the glass.
