Has anybody had any experience using the aux in port on the front of the car dock? I just had my sportster 4 hardwired into my car and they told me I can use the front port to plug my ipod into it but I haven't tried it yet. I still need to dig the little rubber thing out of the port before I can plug it in.
I was just curious to see if anyone has used it. |

| Only the first shipment had that, none of the current ones do. |

| I have a dock like that, and I never use it. I thought I would when I first saw this come out last year. Oh well never used it, but it works, tried it out once. |

| In my Honda, I connect the Audio Out on my sat to the Aux input on the dashboard. It's just a standard mini headphone cable (male on both ends). This the best way to connect if you have it available on your car. No static. |

The AUX in on the dock works great! Plug an iPod or something into it, and it plays out however you have your Sirius connected (fm transmitter or Audio-Out)
On the Sportster4 where it has the antenna bars shown, it changes to "AUX-IN" (or something like that), On the Stratus there is no change on the display, but the sound plays through fine.
Try and find one fast, they are getting harder to find.
The first I bought had no plug, a later one had a plug and a note to ignore all mention of the Aux-In where mentioned in the Manual, and another had the plug but no note about it.
They have all worked fine once the plug is removed. |

This has nothing to do with how you connect your Sirius to your car stereo. (of course the best way is hardwired, there are many ways)
This is about the AUX-IN on the Sportster4 Dock, or the aftermarket dock.
It lets you plug in any audio device to the dock and hear it through you radio.
I have my Sirius HardWired. If I want to plug in my iPod a DVD player or other item I just plug it into the Dock and its now hardwired through the Sirius connection. |

| I have my sportster hardwired and the aux in port works well. I had the same situation of having a plug in there with a paper indicating to ignore all references to the aux in but it works anyway. |

| I had the paper indicating that my Aux-In was not operational as well, but it works perfectly! If it does have the rubber plug just try to pull it out because there is a chance it will work. |

| yes....just pull that plug out! I had the same note, pulled the plug out, and mine works great. |

| What cable do you need in order to plug your ipod into the aux-in? |

Not true. I got mine two weeks ago directly from the new Sirius warehouse, and it has it. |
