saw jm twice in the last couple of years, great performances

jm - fogerty tour was great. the two of them did a few duets and then played a few more with jm's "acoustic" band.

Freedom’s Road tracks
lyric's available on his website
http://www.mellencamp.com/index.php?page=lyrics

Ghost Towns Along The Highway
...music is pleasant, but though the violins add texture, they seem unnecessary (perhaps the mix could be better)

The Americans
...rockabilly music feel with very good sounding part before the final verse...
...lyrics not strong, slightly forced fit...

Forgiveness
...uptempo rockabilly with brilliant-steely guitar sounds, backup singers provide harmonies. another musically fine track, but...
...lyrics don't move me.

Freedom's Road
...mid-tempo rockabilly, tamborine with guitar effects layers, low end bass.
...lyrics good, but laid back delivery gonna prevent this from being a hit.

Jim Crow [minstrel show influenced ; joan baez vocal]
...more poignant lyrics, but whose listening--hey delegate in virginia!!

Our Country [being used in commercials]
...most commercially sounding musically, lyrically, melodically --so far

Rural Route
...dark sounding musically and vocally...

My Aeroplane
...though uptempo, plain pleasant music with more lifeless lyrics...

Zoda
I cannot believe Howard turned down Mellencamp for his birthday.
