| George vs Penny came on today but I have not seen any updates this month either. I think my year subscription runs out this month and I doubt I will renew because of this and lack of content in general. Very disappointing! |

If you haven't already, try posting in the Content Missing Thread on top of this forum. You can get a list of the exact shows you're missing at http://www.indemand.com/HSOD/thismonth.jsp, just compare them to what's on your system. Post daily if you have the time, & HTV will eventually fix the problem with their connections at the cable co's. Hope it helps, because this is a great service if you can get ahead of the posting problems that seldomly happen...

Nothing new in Santa Monica, CA (Time Warner) in 8 days. They are deleting older daily shows, so I'm looking at about 5 on the menu right now.
I'd be really tempted to cancel if I weren't splitting the cable bill with my 3 roommates. But this shit certainly isn't worth $13/mo. |

the only new fuckin show i have in the last week is a fucking rerun. Awesome. What the fuck with the reruns anyways? All the E shit and a year of howard tv. Its been on a year and reruns already. I understand not everyones been aboard from the start but the penny vs. george was new like what? a fuckin month ago? Ridiculous. I am so starving for some howard content i watched it again...and it sucked...again...the episode isnt that good. With all the shit they have i have to watch boring ass george flowers...so awful....one of few times i agree with that nutbag penny.
Thanks for one rerun episode in over a week, now i have to get back to see how far i can throw 20 dollar bills out my window. Trying to break my record. |

Actually, the George v. Penny show was new as a Daily Show on 5/5/06 and this is its first repeat and supposedly in HD.
More than 30 new shows have appeared in January so far. |

| what is this rate code thing exactly? How come i have a feeling if i even mentioned this to comcast they would have no idea what im talking about. Not because you are wrong but because most of their customer service is clueless about everything. I know more than they do most of the time. | what a surprise...talked to 2 people at comcast, clueless as usual about stern channel...knew nothing of rate codes or signals...till he says yeah we are working on rate codes...whatever that means...still missing 30 something shows...gave me 5 dollar credit...woofuckinhoo...i want the shows not the damn money. I would have checked em out illegally by now...on some other site...but wont cause i pay for a much better quality...WTF. I only have howard tv, dont have sirius...does anyone who has sirius and listens to the show know if this has ever been addressed on the show? Some regular wack packer or something must have called in and told them all the problems with howard tv...or dont they put those calls thru...i know at least some fan or someone got thru and called them out on it not updating...anything? All i ever hear on the tv channel is how great it is....and it is...i wouldnt be so mad if i didnt love it...work out the damn bugs already....over a year later now. Or scrap the whole damn thing till the bugs are fixed. |

I have Cox Cable and whenever I had tech problems with In Demand programming I called and made sure I was talking to a tech expert for In Demand. Those guys will know what you're talking about. The regular customer service don't know a thing.
I also had a few long stretches with no material coming in so I asked for a refund. Got $20. In addition to that, if no new shows come in on any given day, they will always credit you for that.
Keep track of the exact days when no content comes in. Tell them specific days nothing new was in and tell them to log in to the In Demand site (while you're on the phone) to see what should be there:

| hey gettinupset! the rate code is the # the cable company uses for the area you live in, usually the city, ask them if ur on the rate code ur city is in, mine was wrong and updated late until changed |

Thanks for the help. I have no luck with comcast. If i suggest anything to them they get upset and dont know what im talking about anyways, like i said before i know more than they do about their systems, from the constant problems im dealing with with them. I called yesterday and he really knew nothing of rate codes. They suggested same ol thing that never works...unplug the box, hit to box, special hit to box, then finally tech sent out. Ive done everything in past, changed boxes. Oh and the tech they sent had no idea why he was sent to me, what the stern channel was or how it worked, and barely spoke english, pretty much didnt. Try explaining howard tv to an illegal. Good times. Hits to the box have worked in the past, not in last few months though. One yesterday did not. Thats worked a few times in past but not anymore. Heres the cycle it seems for me too. First or 2 and 1/2 weeks of month are fine, then the last week or week and a half of month its all fucked up, not getting anything. This one is by far worst of maybe like 10 times this has happened, and that may be generous, its been exactly 2 weeks now and one new show, no dailys nothing. Its getting comical now, im finding humour in how many shows i have left. All my old shows are going one by one and nothing new coming in. You should see how small all my catagories are. I have like 30 shows total left, all ive watched, some a couple times cause i have nothing new to watch. My morning routine is watching it every morning before work, it starts the day out right and that has sucked. Oh and how come they can take off the old shows no problem, when they are due to be taken down they are, how come there are never problems taking down shows, but putting them up....well we all know how that goes. Also i know if i ask to speak to in demand tech thru comcast they will tell me there are no such thing. On demand is their service so i can see maybe that, but as far as i know in demand only does Howard TV on my provider. My brain hurts now, my stop thinkin for now. |

The shows are taken down automatically when they expire wheras new content must be uploaded manually.
Then ask for On Demand tech support. Keep asking until you get someone who knows the deal. Meanwhile, keep an updated list in the content missing thread here of all known missing shows along with your cable provider and zip. The In Demand team (working with your provider) will hopefully figure out your problem soon. |

I'm canceling and just sticking to torrents...
I was told 3 months ago that they were aware of all the htv problems and all bugs will be fixed in 3 weeks..
Well, it's only gotten worse so piss on em till they get their shit together.. :shrug:
I will give comcast credit on 1 thing, the internet service is wicked fast!! I have had speed tests show 20,000 kb/s +
a healthy 300 mb torrent will often download at 350 - 475 kb/s and will finish well under 20 minutes.. |

It seems like this is a legit problem and I would love to know what I could do. Even if its wait patiently because people are working on it, it would just be good to know because soo far it seems like noone with any pull has addressed it yet. |

Yeah, big lag in Chicago. Still no Ronnie at Bubba's wedding, no Beetlejuice documentary. No new Daily shows in 2 weeks! No Best of the Week in like 3 weeks!!
I don't blame Doug or HTV. They're putting out great programming, but the fucking cable companies aren't keeping up with it.
I'm seriously pondering replacing my HTV with HBO for the same price! |

I called the Comcast again and I also called InDemand.
The number for the HowardTV guy is 1-646-638-8367.
He's a "co-producer" with HowardTV and said he works with Doug Goodstein and would try and get it fixed. He's was a cool guy.
Call him. I think he actually cares. The cable company doesn't. (Sorry, I forgot to get his name...that's his actual # though.)
It's 11:30 PM on Wednesday night and still no update. :mad: |

| Nice man b/c I called Comcast today and they had no damn idea what to do....In fact they said if I don't like the service cancel it...It really pisses me off how horrible Comcast's customer service is....I remember in August after a horrible storm my cable went out, when I called Comcast they said it would be fixed in two hours...Well, it took one week for them to restore the cable.. |
