I'm layin some wood on the underdog here...they are both undefeated and are heavy punchers...Urango +500 on the moneyline looks good to me...Hatton is from England and Urango is from Colombia(never knocked down)...Hatton has won more fights but has been knocked down and had some close decisions when he tried to move up in weight...I think Urango is much more hungry for this fight...if anybody has some insight...feel free...
KingOfAllWhites
+500? Damn those are some SWEET odds!!

Yes it is ...and Urango has trained hard for this fight...he can win...
KingOfAllWhites
Where is bazookahead? What does he think?

That guy has alot of knowledge when it comes to boxing and knows alot of people with alot of insight.
KingOfAllWhites
Just saw on sportsbook Urango is +400.

You might have convinced me to throw down $50 on him.

The payout certainly would be worth it.

Not a lock but to me its definetly worth a few bucks for that kind of moneyline...they are really underestimating Urango...
bazookahead
I'm flattered, king!

personally I don't give urango much of a chance tonight... this is the second coming to america for hatton and though he looked flat the first go 'round, I believe he realizes what is at stake and the potential $$$ and will be a different fighter... urango's resume is bland and offers little more than what sets up to be a tune-up fight...

a much more qualified opinion on this though is oddessa who said the following:

"I may take a stab at Urango tonight. Hoping the # goes higher. I think he will have to cut Hatton or KO him to win, so its not something I'm real excited about. I had Hatton pencilled in as around a 4-1 favorite. Casino's opened before me at higher number and it didnt move, so I had to follow suit."

joey's site, pinny, currently has urango at +540, so if you are set on betting this, I'd shop around for a better price than +400... your value is getting trimmed too much on sportsbook...

only other thing though is you gotta realize sharps like oddessa bet volume and grind out profit on fights like this by betting up to 4-5 of them.. that's why he'd only bet it at a certain price... so only one out of four-five have to hit for them to get profit... so as an individual bet, it's not so hot, but in the big picture, if you bet accordingly, urango offers enough of a chance to be included in the big scheme of things...

good luck, bro... also, if you are going to bet it, I'd wait, with all the punters from the UK betting this, the line should spike up even more closer to the fight...
CLONEOFSTERN
Urango grew up hungry on a ckicken farm... he used to chase them down...and snap their necks for dinner...he's got six kids and they are just as hungry...that motherfucker knows he has to feed those little Columbian beaners...

They are lowering it now...its at +475 and sinking...its a good value...

clone is right... money is knocking on urango's door... surprised the UK contingent isn't pounding the line... foreign fighters coming to the US usually bring with them heavy late money... I'm still laying off but wish you guys new money...

The manchester fans probably put their money on the Manchester United v Arsenal match tomorrow morning.
Bollock
Hatton to win it in six..he has the crowd behind him, and is a totally different fighter at this weight.

I wonder how many of them will make the game...6am kick off in Vegas I think, and these Mancs are all talk, but can't handle their piss.

I read on red issue that about 3,000 went from the manchester area but that is probably bs

guess not, the bbc has the same figure

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/6277269.stm

Cheered on by many of the estimated 3,000 supporters who have arrived from Britain, Hatton took to the scales in a pair of Union Jack underpants as bemused American gamblers looked on.
bazookahead
taking hatton by stoppage... course since I can't bet through pinny, instead of getting +102, I'm laying down -135... unreal.. billing the government the difference..

Hey Now Bazookahead,
Was working all day so could not check the board.

Dude I am smart enough to know that nobody has more knowledge and connections to boxing then you. I forgot which fight it was last year but for one of them you told me to protect myself and bet the draw, well I listened, the draw happened and I hit it big. After that I knew I needed your input on boxing before I made a decision.

Anyway I am watching now and lets see what happens.

Good Luck
blake12782
I love watching Hatton box
KingOfAllWhites
So far it looks good for Hatton
blake12782
HBO's slow motion replays are great
KingOfAllWhites
wow, is Hatton starting to look vulnerable?

WAS IT TAYLOR-WRIGHT???

IN ANY CASE ... A GUTSY, GUTSY BET ...
blake12782
Urango was nailing his body in the 5th. Looked to slow Ricky down.
KingOfAllWhites
It was Taylor-Wright

It was more of an insurance bet.

And I collected the insurance.

I think it was like $50 bet on 19-1 or 20-1

Yeah ...

although bazooka knows his business based on that advice clearly ...

especially on that match up ...
KingOfAllWhites
Thats alright, he is certainly knowledgable when it comes to boxing.

However he would be an idiot to know a guy like Odessa and not take his unput.

Nobody knows more then the guy who sets the lines.

Trust me, Bazooka knows alot about boxing. We have talked for almost a year whenever there is a big fight, and normally he is right on.
Jash-G
WHY IS HATTON THROWIN' O/H LEFT AND STEPPIN' RIGHT???
KingOfAllWhites
Hatton looks to be in control.

Urango will need a knockout

I AGREE ...

THAT INSURANCE BET WAS GREAT ADVICE ...

WISH I'D THOUGHT OF IT ...
KingOfAllWhites
Well now we know why Urango was a 5-1 dog.
blake12782
Any thoughts on a Hatton - Castillo fight?

Looks like those thoughts were dead on.

What does everybody else think about the Mosley vs Collazo fight?

I will be in the house at the Mandalay Bay that night. Would love some other people's thoughts on that fight .

There ya go, straight from the horse's mouth. He is intrested.

thanks for the kind words, fellas... truth is I lean on oddessa for the heavy lifting... never met anyone as talented as he is with the fightgame... looks like we all missed tonight (oddessa hit the over and hatton to win by decision) (telling you, uncanny this guy)... but I don't think you made a bad call on 5-1... you had your moments and 5-1 is usually a lot more lopsided... you weren't alone, oddessa confirmed all the books were getting slammed with urango money so a lot people saw it that way too...

inexperience, nerves and conditioning sunk urango... he had a window in the last four rounds to do some damage and should have played the body more...

any ways... good luck with the rest of the weekend..
bazookahead
far as some of the other fights mentioned, we'll move our stuff back on the right side... see what some of the lines look like and go from there..

I still went against the odds...didnt bet the house...all my other bets covered except this one...it was a little side bet to bring home some extra green...unfortunately Urango fought slow and had no motivation to finish strong...on the other hand Hatton really didnt impress me with his"knock-out" power since this went the distance with a win by decision...
