doorbell
i was just wondering if this was a common problem among any other SFN ers. My piece of shit starmate takes forever to cut on and will hardly stay on. the ac adapter power cord is the problem. i have to twist it around and pull on it until the receiver lights up blue, then remove my hand ever so slightly to keep it on. My ? is, does anyone else have this problem? if so, have you ever called sirius about this and what was the result. it has been doing this for a while but it seems as if it is getting worse and i may need to get of rid of this piece of trash receiver. I think sirius is a great product with bad customer service and even worse equipment. thoughts?

Yes its a big problem. Dont call sirius though, Just contact the manufacture and they should take care of it.

I called sirius, as I couldn't find any other contact number for Starmate. They sent me a replacement starmate 4. They couldn't be bothered to send me a replacement home doc until I sent my receipt to them. After waiting week and a half to receive my home doc, they inform me that it is on backorder. I think everything they have is on back order. If it wasn't for Howard I will tell sirius to kiss my ass and drop them. I have never seen such piss poor service.

Yeah my Starmate ST 1 just started to act up...wonder if it's the freezing cold weather? I know my warranty is up ....unit is over a year old. There is no manufacturer listed just the Sirius Corporate HQ address. We already know about their customer service.

I had the same problem but technically they don't manufacture the product so go through the manufacterer

I had the same problem and it wasn't the cord...the actual plug on the radio is bad,at least it was on mine, figured it out after I took it to radio shack and put a new cord on it and it still cut off,I had a warranty on mine at circut city and they replaced ALL my stuff for 20 bucks..but beware the fucking new ones don't have the option of the 87 frequency channels and don't have near the FM transmitter in it, now it's a mother fucker finding a free frequency with no static in it,and hard wiring it in is out of the question because I move it between vehicles...my subscription may be short lived due to other various reasons too...didn't make up my mind yet.
