How do you stream the internet feed on a Mac?
I just got a brand new 17" iMac and I am using Firefox as a browser. I tried to use it in Safari, but it only plays for a few minutes and then repeats what it has already played. Any suggestions as to how I can run the stream on the iMac would be much appreciated. |

| do you have windows media player installed on your computer? Mine has worked with no problems, ever. I have a G4, so maybe there is a difference somewhere in the OS. I do use 10.4, so the OS should be the same. |

I was given advice from Copter... he told me to download windows media player and then download yahoo widget engine and search for the sirius yahoo widget.
Is that what you do as well? |

I don't have an iNtel Mac yet, but use Safari to stream. I forget if I use Windows Media Player, or Flip4Mac plugins.
You can get both here........

I know I "have" had the problem where it plays for 10-15 min's, then starts repeating, but I changed something and it's working fine.
It is saving the stream somewhere on the HD, then when done starts replaying. I was using one mac that had the whole HD nearly full and got a warning that I was running out of space, haven't looked but think you could save this file to have the show recorded. |

Sorry OneoftheHive,
haven't been to this thread in a while. Hopefully the streaming is working for you now. I never had any problems. It just always worked for me. I had windows media and flip for mac installed way before I ever tried to stream. Maybe that is why I never had problems. How this helps. |

I haven't done anything since I started this thread, because I hate yahoo products... I downloaded the flip for macs thinger. Going to try to listen to the stream now... hopefully it works.
Has anyone in here who is a mac user tried to use the Howard Stern media player? Does that work? |

Still restarts after just a few minutes.

That is really strange. Never heard of anything like that. You have probably already heard this, but make sure all the different applications that you are using are up to date.
The stern media player is windows only. |

| What version of 0s10 are you using? do you have a intel chip or a G5? |

| it restarts the stream on mine as well, but it is only because the playback of the stream catches up to the download. just scroll the cursor forward to almost the end. and begin listening at the same point as when it stoped. it doesnt do it again after this occurs. |

| flip4mac is the problem, there is no intel version of windows media player, so youll need to go into flip4mac settings and change the streaming settings. It should work fine with safari after that. |

| Speaking of Macs -- I just got an S100 and was wondering if anyone had any tips for making that thing talk to a Mac? I got the unit knowing the specs said you couldn't use it on a Mac, so that's fine, just thinking if anyone has any way to get it to work that'd be a bonus. |

| recently got an imac (using now) i use flip4mac plugin with firefox 2-buggy but works OK most of time (sometimes lags and stream repeats itself) hopefully sirius releases a native quicktime version of the streamer or perhaps make the streamer available via itunes.............. |

| if using flip 4 mac, in system preferences>flip4mac check create streaming movies. This will make it so it doesn't repeat |

| SiriusMac (www.nicemac.com) is the future for online streaming besides the Browser dependent sirius.com offering. I also agree that it sucks macs can't do much with the Stiletto (Just got my 100) But I use a PC at work sometimes and I am lucky they trust me since I fix their problems to download updates with that. I would like to upload my MP3's from my mac instead of using a thumb drive to shuttle to another computer. Oh well I'm just going to have to build a library from the satellite for now i guess... |

| This thread deserves a BUMP!!! Just heard about SiriusMac this weekend and downloaded it. To be honest it took a couple of trys to get it working properly on my intel iMac 24", but that was my problem, not a problem of the software. This program ROCKS!!!!! Forget Firefox, Safari, etc., etc. I suggest loading this up ASAP. It has a great look, works well, and no passwords to keep typing everytime you want to listen. It's been on the top 5 download list for Macs for sometime from what I read. Get it. Use it. Love it. |
