I'm so bummed. Can I say how much I hate comcast? The new shows continued to be late (I hadn't had new shows in weeks), and comcast had the nerve to raise the monthly price. I told them I had it with them and to take it off my account.

If the service were good, I wouldn't mind paying. But when you hear Howard say, oh this show will be up tonight and I don't see it for weeks,....it just gets me pissed.

and when a Comcast repair guy came to the house to address another issue with the phone, I asked about the shows not getting updated. He says, oh that's a known issue--I have the same problem at my house. DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL ANY BETTER!!!!

Also, the cost is nothing.
If you buy one movie, you're paying more for 1-2 hours of entertainment than you pay for a whole month of HTV.

i don't feel left out - just annoyed. i'm already paying for sirius, do i really need howard to pimp his pay-tv channel as well?

obviously the cost is nothing -- from what i've heard howard puts zero effort into the programming. it's either a lame sybian ride from the show or some bit from doug goodstein.

After years of having Comcast, we cancelled last summer. I now have Direct TV and Verizon for internet. Direct TV is less $, better programming and we can get the NFL Sunday Ticket.

The only drawback is not having Howard TV, but we never felt is was worth it.

The programming is just fine. - They show uncensored E-shows, original programming, too.
You get a daily show (every 3-4-days or so, still needs work), and like seven other catagories of shit that's always changing. Believe me, it's worth $11 if you're a fan.

The e show was the same thing - only censored. You want that back? Just because it was free? I'd rather pay to see his original vision of the show. But that's just me. Maybe I'm weird.

Can't wait until Howard TV is available for download/streaming. I would pay a monthly fee and/or a per-show fee. My desert cable system here in Sedona isn't EVER going to have it available. EVER.

Anyone know when this might happen? I think it would be a REALLY big revenue generator too.

FIOS in Virginia Launched 3rd Quarter Last year, Major Problems. LOts of bugs to work out cant go from Phone to tv and expect it to be great prices have jumped already as well and customers are locked into contracts, local cable companies are starting to see the influx of customers that initially disconnected services but were met met with sub standard product. FiOs is a plauseable idea and it might be on par with established cable systems in a 3-5 year period IMO. Till then its the new toy that some will try. Companies Like Comcast, Time Warner ,and Cox have had Fiber optic cable on the poles for over 10 years. id rather go with the devil i know than the devil i dont know.

No I had the same problem with Comcast here in Boston. Took weeks to update, but the stuff always came down on time. There was a point where I only had about 3 daily shows available. Finally had to get rid of HTV because it was not worth it, and I was adding a new HD box so i had to lower my bill.

I cancelled mine a couple of months ago. I also got tired of waiting for the shows to "propogate".

Where are you getting your information? FiOS TV had installed customers in Virginia in September, 2005. What kind of substandard product are you seeing? It's not even available in R.I. You are completely wrong about fiber. The Telcos had fiber in the air decades before cable television and cable has been using fiber for over 20 years, even in podunk markets. The difference between cable and FiOS is that Your cable company feeds somewhere between 100 and 500 customers with one fiber and then uses coax the "last mile"to the home. FiOS runs a single fiber right up to your home. FiOS video picture quality is vastly better than any cable or dish feed that I have ever seen.

I have the package with every Premium channel, but I still spend more time watching HTV in a given month than all of those channels combined. There will only be one or two weekly shows on HBO or Showtime at any given time that I have to watch, and beyond that the occasional movie that I want to see. The remaining 99% of the combined hours on all those channels are irrelevant to me. The advantage of HTV is that it’s 100% about something that I am interested in: The Howard Stern Show, so I watch a high percentage of what shows up on there.

Your missing the point completely. I get like 18 channels between HBO, Showtime and Starz for like 15 bucks. They all have original content and new movies on the regular. Just as an example, when Sopranos is in a new season your getting great, original content with just that one show (keeping it simple with just one show for the example). The amount of production that goes into that one show far exceeds the amount of production you see in anything on HOward TV and that's just one show. I'm not saying howard TV completely, sucks but the cost relative to quality and the price you get from other paid cable channels, just doesn't compare. It doesn't add up.

Sybian rides are alright, but it's not worth the relative price you pay for monthly paid cable entertainment.

Buy some porn or something. It's quicker and easier and cheaper !

I try to be positive, except when I see people lying or being disingenuous. Then I go into attack mode. I also don't like people who treat this site like it's the "What's Wrong With Howard's Shows?" message board. It gets annoying after the first thousand or so "wahh something about my service sucks" threads. People get tired of reading that shit.

this board is full of members who will jump with both feet on top of anyone who critiques Howard, the show, HTV, people who work on the show, people who work for the people who work on the show, the pets of the people who work for the people who work on the show...... some people don't get the premise that those who critique care just as much for the show as those who never would..... it's the same vibe as Bush after 911..... if you said the slightest thing people would pounce on you and say you hate your country.... you don;t hate your country because you have a problem with how it's being ran..... same goes with Howard and all things Stern.....

Critiquing someone and treating the site like sirius/comcast customer service are two different things.

A serious critique of a show member or guest is not that annoying or offensive, but thread after thread of whining gets fucking old. Surely you can see that.

This is an interesting line of thought. I do have HTV (though, not for long as they haven't updated it literally in over 2 weeks and I'm tired of dicking with Comcast) and have enjoyed seeing Howard and the crew doing their thing. The show has never been better.

But, I gotta admit, when I'm listening to brilliant radio interrupted by sybian rides (I mean really, it's like listening to porn with a lawnmower in the room) and straws in the ass, I sometimes wish they were audio-only.

I've had my share of problems with HTV but one thing I disagree with. It doesn't seem to me that the radio show has been altered to satisfy the TV show like some suggest. Even before the E show Howard always did visual bits involving gross-out stuff and naked chicks.

The frequency of these segments on the radio doesn't seem any greater than in the past. In fact, it seems naked chick segments have decreased since the move to Sirius. It seems like they do some bit involving a naked chick once a week or so, where back on K-Rock they seemed to do this kind of segment a couple of times per week.

In fact I just checked all the daily shows currently up on my system, and only one features a naked chick segment, while all the rest is basically interviews/gang chatter type segments.
