Since when does God finish in 3rd? And when would God ever panic and overspend on damaged goods?
When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! |

I wouldn't know, but did Clemens TANK as a closer the 2nd half of the year and CHOKED in HUGE games? Man, I don't recall that, but then again, that was what, 20 years ago? |

Miss,
The Sox are CHASING the Blue Jays, not the Yanks. Lets get that straight. Fact is, the Yanks, on paper, look better this year then last year. I know Cashman isn't done yet but there is no doubt in my mind that the AL East is the Yanks to lose. Sox will be fighting like hell to get that wild card and with an unproven D Mat as their ace and often injured Drew as their best outfielder, it could be a long year........
Will Manny even wait till spring training to demand a trade? |

Theo should thank God he isn't black:
It's been almost 30 years since buses of black students were pelted with rocks and tomatoes in South Boston. More than a decade has lapsed since Charles Stuart shot his wife in Mission Hill and sparked a veritable witch hunt for a black killer who never existed.
Is Boston, America's third-whitest major metropolitan area, as racist as it once was? Can a city that embraces its history firmly and fondly shed its reputation? Is this city of neighborhoods in fact a city of segregated ethnic enclaves?
Despite the fact that many visitors to the city of Boston think this city is a "happy medium" in many ways, we in Boston are far from living happily together.
Of all the cities I've traveled to, Boston is one of the most segregated, racist, and classist. Yes, like many other cities, Boston has a "Little Italy" (we call it the North End) and a Chinatown; these areas are as much for the sake of new immigrants who want the comfort of others who speak their language, as they are tourist attractions. It's the other neighborhoods, the ones that the tourists, business travelers, and college kids don't usually see, that trouble me.
The Boston Red Sox were the last major league baseball team to integrate their roster. In 1959 -- 12 years after Jackie Robinson broke the league's color barrier by joining the Brooklyn Dodgers -- the Red Sox brought infielder Pumpsie Green up from the minors.
The legacy of racial exclusion on the Red Sox extended into the Fenway Park stands, where black fans often felt unwelcome.
Seems like some things never change |

Nuge, I'm a Yankee fan, alright, but you're killing me. Stop it.
About the pitching staff, just remember this: Schilling is only getting older. Wakefield's ball is dying. Papelbon's got his work cut out for him to pitch 200 innings (provided they don't make him a reliever because they've failed to find a closer), Beckett was very hittable last year, and Matsuzaka...well, he's japanese, look at the other jap pitchers in the league. So, don't get all worked up yet. Oh, and the Sox pen still needs some work.
I love the Yank's pen, and I am suspect on their starters. 1, 2, and 3 should be fine but 4 and 5 are a mystery.
This shit ain't locked up yet by either team.
And nuge, the Sox passed the Jays in the offseason, so I wouldn't go there too much. |

dave, but these clowns already think they are better then the yanks with the moves they made. my point was, they were a 120 million dollar 3rd place team and they better focus on getting better and taking over 2nd and praying for a wild card. sox are not chasing the yanks, they are chasing the wild card...

Nugey, you should know better than to stoop to their level. Many of them don't know how to have a polite and honest baseball conversation.
I see the Yankee's faults and am not 100% confident they will win the division.
This is what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to engage fans of other teams into and open and honest dialogue about baseball. Not just "my team is better than yours!" but rather a good, frank discussion.
I hope the Sox fans are a bit skeptical about their pitching because, like us, they should be. |

Yankees finished winning the division (ho hum, yet again) and the Red Sox finished... well, behind a team that wasn't really even LOOKING to be ahead of the Red Sox... but were.
And I'm more than happy to have Pettite back, along with the rings he was instrumental in bringing to the Yankees, and the professionalism and character he brings to the team.
Oh, and the Red Sox STILL can't get rid of Manny who makes it no secret that he wants to play for the Yankees. |

Dave,
I agree 100% but I also won't stand around and let some punk rag on me or my team. BUT, I have said over and over, I love sports and I will talk facts and opinions with anyone with an unbiased view, but once some fruit wants to efight or be a Internet tough guy, well then that thought goes by the wayside and the gloves are off... |

You make some great points but two of the most important ones were the fact that Pettite WANTS to be a Yankee, he can handle the NY pressure and he has a pretty impressive record vs. the Red Sox. And even if Manny doesn't become a Yankee, even though I feel someday I feel he will end up in the Bronx, I know he wants out of Boston and when they trade him, their lineup will never be the same. Oh, and you can bet the Sox fans will say he stunk... |

No son, getting OWNED means finishing with the 8th best record in the AL with 120 million dollar payroll!!! The thread is about Theo is God but the fact is, God doesn't spend 120 million to be the 8th best team in the AL.
Stick to the facts CASE A BEER, clueless prick, Case OF Beer, OF OF you dumb cunt...
Thank you........... |

Um, nobody knew who the fuck you were until you trolled the Patriots thread all season long. Now, we're stooping to your level, troll.
Funny how you try to look like an e-tough guy in front of real Yankee fans, when you're really a know-nothing attention whore, making real NY sports fans look really bad. |

Um, nobody knew who the fuck you were until you trolled the Patriots thread all season long.
That is an outright lie and you know it..I was there from the get go son, talking football and talking smack when needed, and I must say, it was fun being a pain in the ass and OWNING some of your bandwagon fans who only see the Pat's through Brady CUM-STAINED glasses.
Now, we're stooping to your level, troll.
Get one thing right son, I am NOT a troll, I reply mostly in sports because that is what I am into, it could be anything son. And who is to say I am not stooping to your level. Besides, I like talking the facts that pussies like you can't hack.
Funny how you try to look like an e-tough guy in front of real Yankee fans
Man, you are way off today huh, did your boyfriend forget the KY Jelly again, if so, don't take it out on me. Not an e-tough guy like Mutt said you were trying to be, it's a FUCKING message board, besides those points, I am sure I can handle you and your crew if it came to that. And I thought there were NO real Yankee fans on here, you called us all bandwagon fans, RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGhhhhhT? So what is it fruity?
when you're really a know-nothing attention whore, making real NY sports fans look really bad.
Far from an attention whore, but it is obvious I got your attention and I get under your skin very easily. And again, I thought all NY sports fans were fake and stupid? Anyone who doesn't agree with you or other Pat/Sox fans are assholes stupid and so on. Bottom line is son, I played the games through college, I have coached the games and I have studied the games, plus I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night, so I know sports better then the average poster, but I will admit, getting you pissed or angry is what I do best.
Again, if you want to talk sports without the efighting, like Mutt made clear that is something you enjoy, you love to hate, then leave your gloves at the door son, but if you want to throw jabs, be ready for some haymakers kid. :twak:
Thank you |

Sox fans, here's a Yankee's blog that takes a pretty unbiased view of both starting rotations.

Some interesting comparisons. Oh, and he gets his red sox stuff from other red sox blogs. He's not out to crucify anyone. |
