I hope to god this whole skylarbrie persona is a creation of a vivid imagination, It would be hard to comprehend someone so annoying actually trying to wade their way through life.
With the diverse backgrounds of many who work at the BRN we are well aware of what "could be" , none of us are losing sleep.
It's also 100% POSSIBLE that you create the stupidest threads in this forum. |

No you're pretending to be familiar with the "m.o." of the federal govt in regards to things, when in actuality you have NO clue as to what you are typing about or implying.
I've been working in digital communications on many levels for a number of years.
I've worked through the "Carnivore" years.
And the current systems such as.
Echelon, Riverglass, the entire DragonWare Suite, and the FBI's Magic Lantern
I'm also well aware of Laws and regulations such as CALEA and others pertaining to digital and audio communications. Familar with their use and application... So before you come in here and start spouting off like a poor mans Winst, educate your self on the facts or don't bother posting your bullshit. |

NO.. Like I said in another thread the Govt. has better things to do. There is a lot of red tape to go through for that kind of surveillance needed. Not terrorist related.. Won't happen!! |

Red tape... what red tape... the President's authorization isn't exactly red tape... it's a signature... actually a go or no go because they won't put anything on paper that could be used to hold them accountable for their actions...
There is no longer any reason to take issues through the FISA courts because the laws have been rewritten in the name of "national security"...
As we learned with Bill Clinton... wording "is" everything... what is considered a terrorist action is extremely subjective... |

First off, what everyone else said... "Like They Would Give a Phreak'n Care".
Secondly, if they are so damn interested in my doings, *shrugs*, they can stop by for coffee and make as many copies of my harddrive as they like.
Whether the 'Spooks are out to get ya' crowd is right or wrong makes no difference to most 'normal' human beings, and hey, for those with a harddrive full of deviant kiddie porn and snuff flicks... phuck, I hope they do get ya. Most of us it makes no difference whatsoever if some bored motherphuck'n agent is listen'n to our boring phone calls or read'n our mail or anything else.
So, Who Phuck'n Cares.!

If you can, see what you can do about it, please. I can't possibly be the only one who's had difficulty reading your posts in that shade of blue here ... |

Well I'm not willing to go that far either. In our country normal citizens who follow the law have a reasonable expectation of a right to privacy. And one's willingness to give up rights so easily is more frightening to me than any terroist attack. |

Heya mcbutton... thanks, I probably shoulda realized that the colour combination would get sketchy on some monitors... let's try this instead.
Hail Jaeger, I agree, we should be able to 'expect' that privacy; and no doubt we should make great waves over it. Truth is there's a whole handful of 'basic rights' that have never been so deeply entrenched here in Canada as you've been blessed with. Privacy, the absolute right to self-defence, freedom from censorship, absolute free speech, the right to bare arms... ...mostly peoples on both sides of the border think things are pretty much the same, it has never really been true. So I guess I do tend to just resign myself to the inevitable. The solace for my soul is to imagine the poor phuck who's job it is to peruse all the endless drival that's collected.
You are very correct though Jaeger, it isna right, and it's a cry'n shame that all this terror shit has given this US government some ability chew away small parts of the Greatest Constitution Ever Writen... ...and if the late Great Frank Zappa were still here to see what's happening I'm sure he'd be phreak'n.
Doesn't change the fact that it's hugely humourous to imagine that such resources would be wasted just to monitor a bunch of chatting fans to a radio show.
Peace .. SvS |

| Agreed...the government has way bigger issues to deal with...I am sure they are not spending their time worried about Bubba, and we all know that with the extra money Bush needs to fund the war, there isn't the manpower to do it....it is interesting that the mail is opened when it arrives though!! just saying |

Peace .. SvS | Better color SPY,,, Easier to read. Thx As far as the greatest Constitution ever,,, you just like me are watching it get whithered and eroded away. A document that was put in place to protect the people from its very own gov't,,,,, is getting whittled down piece by piece. As far as being an American,,, not to knock you in any way for being Canadian,,but for you to have taken notice of our failure is very embarrassing. This trend is not going to turn in the right direction soon sadly to say. |

| Being a Canadian is not much better, although we never had the same document as the US, we are as well seeing the erosion of our freedoms...9/11 wasn't something that only the US started using as an excuse for infringing on the rights of citizens. The difference is that we Canadians typically just shut up and take it. We all need to start to stand up and stop being a victim of the governments free will in taking away our freedom one piece at a time!! |

Heya catdr;
I'm not sure I'd term it 'the peoples' failure. 200years the American Constitiution stood unassailable, and not because no other government tryed. 9/11 changed it all in a heartbeat. It's not that there is no Zappa out there any more to lead the fight, it's that people will surrender to fear.
The world is not gonna be completely safe, ever. No government will ever be able to change that. So it makes more sense to protect what we have. These phreaks are attacking our freedom, that's really what it's about. They do realize that they can not win a war of conquest, they will not gain territory or gold or any of the historically time honoured war goals, they realize that and don't care, they idea is Not to bring themselves up, it is only to drag the West down to their level. Living in fear without human rights, controlled by whoever happens to have the biggest stick at any given time.
So, the best way to fight that -- seems to me -- is not to back up at all, yes Home Land Security is important, but No it it not important enough to give up basic rights for.
Peace .. SvS |

Good one mcbutton. *L*
To quote the Late Great Robert Heinlein... "Military Intelligence is a contradiction in terms."
I'm guessing Mr. Heinlein would include the political leadership in that statement.

If politicians are such great bullshit artists, then why haven't I seen any of their work at The Louvre?! |

*laughs*
Here's another Heinlein...
"All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalitys. It is not that power corrupts, but that it is a magnet to the corruptable. Such people have a tendancy to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted." |
|
|
| mcbutton1970 |
| Sounds like a rather wordy way of saying that "absolute power corrupts absolutely" (forgive me because I can't remember the rest of that quote, but you probably know what I mean) ... |
